Create a WordPress Services page from Pages > Add New, build the layout with blocks or a pattern, publish it, and add the page to your navigation. Keep a small set of offerings on one page; use child pages when each service needs substantial detail.
Choose the right page structure first
Services information is usually evergreen business information, so a WordPress Page is a better fit than a chronologically ordered Post. Choose the structure that matches how much explanation visitors need.
| Structure | Best for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| One Services page | A short list of clearly related offerings | Place every service summary on the page, with a call to action or contact link where appropriate. |
| Parent Services page with child pages | Several services that need separate explanations | Use Services as the parent Page, then create one child Page per service and link to those pages from the parent. |
WordPress supports parent and child Pages, so you can start with one page and expand the hierarchy later without turning service details into blog posts.
Create the Services page
- In the WordPress dashboard, open Pages > Add New.
- Set the title to Services (or a more specific label your visitors will recognize).
- Add a short introduction explaining who you help, what outcomes you provide, and how visitors can take the next step.
- Compose the page in the block editor, then select Preview to check the desktop and mobile presentation.
- When the content and links are ready, select Publish.
Build each service with blocks
Blocks let you assemble the page from headings, paragraphs, images, buttons, columns, lists and other content types. A practical service item normally includes:
- Service name: a descriptive heading rather than an internal product code.
- Outcome-focused description: explain the problem solved and the result a client can expect, without promising an unsupported guarantee.
- Relevant proof or scope: add a short list, image or process summary when it helps a visitor decide.
- Next step: link to a detailed service page, booking form, enquiry page or contact method when one is available.
Group the blocks for each offering so spacing and backgrounds remain easy to manage. Keep headings in a logical order and make button text specific, such as “Request a quote” or “See web development details,” rather than a series of identical “Click here” links.
Use a pattern as a starting layout
A block pattern is a premade collection of blocks that you insert and then customize with your own content. It can provide a service-card grid, testimonial area or call-to-action arrangement without requiring you to assemble every block from a blank page. Treat the pattern as a layout starting point: replace its sample text, images and links, and remove sections that do not serve your visitors.

Decide whether repeated content should sync
If the same contact prompt or call to action appears on several pages, a synced pattern keeps those instances connected. Editing the synced pattern updates every place where it is used. Use an ordinary, unsynced pattern when you want to copy the layout but edit each page independently; changes to one copy then stay local.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteAdd detailed service child pages
Create a separate Page when an offering needs its own process, inclusions, examples, pricing explanation, requirements or frequently asked questions.
- Open Pages > Add New and create the detailed service page.
- In the Page settings, set Parent to Services.
- Add the full explanation, supporting media and a clear enquiry or booking action.
- Publish the child page and add its link to the Services page.
Keep the parent page useful as an overview: summarize each service and make the child-page link obvious. Visitors should not have to infer that a heading is clickable.
Choose the editing interface that matches your theme
| Interface | Availability | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Pages screen and block editor | General WordPress workflow | Creating and editing the page content, regardless of whether the site uses a classic or block theme. |
| Site Editor | Only when a block theme is installed and activated | Editing site-wide templates, styles, navigation, patterns and the page in its template context. |
On a block-theme site, open Appearance > Editor when you need to adjust the broader site design. Its Pages view shows the page within its template context; editing the template itself may need to be enabled separately. If you do not have an active block theme, use the normal Pages workflow instead of looking for Site Editor controls that will not be available.

Put Services in your navigation
Publishing the page does not automatically make it prominent in your menu. Open the navigation controls for your theme, select the Navigation block or the relevant menu editor, and add a link to the published Services page. Place it where visitors will expect to find business information, and check that child service links are reachable from the parent page.
After saving the menu, test the link as a logged-out visitor in a private browser window. Check the header menu, mobile menu, page links and every call-to-action destination.
