Create a roundup as a regular WordPress post: add a clear title, organize each option with headings and useful blocks, fill in the post settings that matter, preview the result, then publish or schedule it. You do not need a special post type or a plugin for a basic roundup.
Plan the roundup before opening the editor
Decide what the post compares and who it is for. Choose comparison points that fit the subject—such as intended use, features, strengths and limitations, compatibility, or price when you have current, reliable information. Do not rank options or imply that you tested them unless you can support that claim.
Sketch the entries and their order. A short introduction should explain what the roundup covers and help readers understand how to use it. Give each entry a consistent set of details where that makes comparison easier; avoid forcing a template when the options differ in meaningful ways.
Create a post and build its structure
-
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Posts and create a new post. The block editor lets you add blocks with the inserter or by typing a slash command in an empty paragraph. See WordPress’s guide to working with blocks or its lesson on creating posts and pages with the block editor.

Enter a specific title and write a brief introduction that states the scope of the roundup. Avoid vague promises; tell readers what kinds of options are included and what criteria you used.
-
Add a heading for each entry and place its explanation beneath it. Use the Heading, Paragraph, List, Image, Button, and Table blocks as appropriate. A table is useful when readers need to compare the same attributes across options; lists work well for distinct features or pros and cons. WordPress documents these and other core blocks.
-
Use block settings to adjust the selected block where needed. Available settings depend on the block; WordPress notes that each block has its own settings in the block settings sidebar. See Work with blocks.
Make the roundup easy to scan
Use headings to show the hierarchy
Keep the post title as the main heading, then use section headings for the major parts of the article and a consistent subheading level for individual options. Do not choose a heading level just for its visual size; style can be adjusted separately where your theme allows.

Choose lists, images, and tables for a reason
-
Use a list for a compact set of features, steps, or pros and cons.
-
Add images when they help identify or explain an option. Give images meaningful alternative text when they convey information, and check captions and image display in your theme.
-
Use a Table block when rows and columns make genuine comparisons clearer. Check that the table remains readable on narrow screens and does not rely on color alone to convey meaning.
-
Add buttons only when a clear next action benefits the reader; label them so the destination or action is apparent.

Add a table of contents only if it helps
A contents list can help readers navigate a long roundup, but it is optional. The WordPress core block reference labels the Table of Contents block experimental, so its availability or behavior may depend on the WordPress version and site setup. If it is not available or does not suit your setup, use a supported alternative rather than assuming every site has the same block.
Set post details in the settings sidebar
Open the post settings sidebar and review the fields available for your post. Depending on your site and content type, you may be able to set a featured image, excerpt, categories, tags, and publishing details. These fields are not necessarily present or configured identically on every WordPress site. WordPress explains the sidebar in its Page/Post Settings sidebar documentation.
Choose a featured image that represents the roundup, write an excerpt that accurately summarizes it, and use categories and tags that fit the site’s existing organization. Check the selected post status and publishing controls before you leave the editor.
Use patterns, shared content, and plugins selectively
Patterns can speed up layout
Block patterns are predesigned groups of blocks that you can use as a starting point for a repeated layout. They can save setup time, but review and adapt the content and arrangement for the roundup rather than treating a pattern as finished editorial structure. See Adding a new block.

Check every use of shared content
Reusable or synced content can help when the same callout or disclosure appears in multiple posts. Because edits to shared content appear in its other uses, check those locations after changing it. WordPress describes this behavior in the Block Editor Handbook’s key concepts.
Install a plugin only for a real gap
A simple roundup can be built with the editor’s existing blocks. Plugins can add blocks, and choosing a third-party block from the directory installs its plugin; use one when it solves a specific need that your current setup does not meet, such as a particular comparison layout. WordPress explains adding blocks in its block documentation and its guide to working with blocks.

If you use affiliate links, disclose the financial relationship clearly and conspicuously near the relevant recommendation. In U.S. guidance, the Federal Trade Commission says the closer the disclosure is to the recommendation, the better; simply writing “affiliate link” may not make clear that you earn a commission. The FTC gives this example: “I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.” See FTC’s Endorsement Guides: What People Are Asking. This is U.S. guidance, not a substitute for checking the rules that apply to your jurisdiction and circumstances.
Keep endorsements truthful and do not imply personal experience you do not have. The FTC’s guidance says endorsements should not be misleading and people should not claim to have tried products they have not tried. See Endorsements, Influencers, and Reviews.

Preview, check, and publish
-
Preview the post using the available preview controls and, if possible, check it on the actual theme and on a narrow screen.
-
Review the order of entries, heading hierarchy, links, image captions and alternative text, table readability, and whether the introduction accurately describes the roundup.
-
In the post settings and publishing controls, confirm the status and timing, then publish or schedule the post. Labels and available controls can vary by WordPress version and site setup; consult the post settings sidebar documentation if needed.
