How to create a Google review QR code

On a computer browser, open the Google Business Profile for your business.

Select Read Reviews, then Get more reviews.

Save the QR code image. Alternatively, copy the review link if you plan to share it digitally. Google says QR codes can be generated only in a computer browser, not on mobile devices. See Google’s instructions for creating a review link or QR code.

Before printing or sharing the image, scan it with a phone camera to check that it opens the intended review flow. This is a practical check, not a step required by Google.

Google suggests sharing the link in receipts, thank-you emails, chat follow-ups, email, WhatsApp messages, and Facebook posts. It also recommends printing and displaying the QR code in-store. A sign or countertop display is optional; you do not need one to generate the code. Google’s sharing guidance covers these options.
Ask for reviews without violating Google’s policies
A QR code makes the review form easier to reach; it does not change the rules for requesting feedback. Ask customers who have genuinely experienced your business, and give them room to describe that experience in their own words.

Do not offer payment, discounts, free goods, or services in exchange for writing, changing, or removing a review.

Do not ask only customers you expect to leave positive reviews, discourage negative feedback, require specific wording, or pressure customers to review while they are on your premises.

Google says violations can lead to reviews being removed or restrictions on a Business Profile. Those restrictions may include temporarily blocking new reviews, temporarily unpublishing existing reviews, or showing consumers a warning. Customers must be signed in to a Google Account to submit a review. Google says the account can use a non-Gmail email address. Google’s review tips explain this account requirement.
Where should you share a Google review link?
Use the link in a receipt, thank-you email, or chat follow-up when you want a customer to open the review flow from their device. For an in-person prompt, print the QR code and display it in your store. In either case, invite honest feedback without steering customers toward a particular rating or response.
