You can create a WordPress agreement form by adding a signature field in a compatible form builder, publishing the form, and checking the saved submission. WPForms and Gravity Forms document this workflow; each requires its own signature feature and eligible license. A captured signature image is a record of what the signer entered, not a guarantee that every agreement is legally enforceable.
Choose a WordPress form builder
If your site already uses WPForms or Gravity Forms, check whether its signature feature fits your license and recordkeeping needs before building the form. Both products document signature capture and storage with form submissions.

Choose based on your existing form builder, eligible license, whether a signature attached to an entry meets your workflow, and the server’s image-processing support. If you need a form to populate a contract and send a signing invitation, a separate integration may be relevant, but the available WordPress.org listing is promotional and does not establish its current maintenance, compatibility, or legal sufficiency. Verify those points before relying on it: WP E-Signature integration listing.
Build and publish the agreement form
- Install and activate your form builder. Follow the builder’s installation process in WordPress, then confirm it is active and available in the dashboard.
- Activate its signature feature. WPForms says its Signature addon requires a Pro-or-higher license and a current WPForms version meeting the addon’s minimum version. Gravity Forms includes its Signature Add-On with Elite and Nonprofit licenses; check the product’s current instructions for installing or enabling it.
- Create the agreement form. Add the agreement text and the identity, contact, and transaction-specific details needed to show what the person is accepting. Have qualified counsel review the actual agreement language when appropriate; a form field does not supply contract terms.
- Add the signature field. In WPForms, the activated field appears under Fancy Fields; its documentation describes drawing with a mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen, as well as a typed-name input mode. In Gravity Forms, find the field in the Advanced Fields toolbox; its appearance can be configured. See the WPForms instructions or Gravity Forms instructions.
- Save and embed the form. Add it to the WordPress page where the agreement should appear, using your builder’s embed method.
- Submit a test entry. Sign the form as a test user and inspect the saved entry before making the form available for real agreements.
Check what the submission retains
Both documented implementations convert the captured signature to a PNG image. WPForms says the image can be viewed in Entries and saved in submissions and notifications. Gravity Forms says signature data is converted to a PNG stored on the server with the entry, and can also appear in email notifications. Test your own configuration: confirm the signature is visible in the entry and any notification you depend on, and check that the form captured the agreement details you need.

For WPForms, the server must have GD or Imagick enabled to process signature images. If a test signature is missing or does not process, ask your hosting provider or administrator to check the relevant PHP image-processing extension, then submit another test.
Set your own rules for who can access submissions, how long records are retained, and how they are backed up and protected. The existence of a PNG and a form entry does not, by itself, establish a complete recordkeeping or privacy program.

Understand the legal limits of a signature field
A drawn or typed signature field does not automatically make every agreement enforceable. Gravity Forms notes that enforceability depends on local electronic-signature laws and advises consulting legal counsel for a specific use case. Consider the jurisdiction, the kind of agreement, evidence of the signer’s intent, and what records are retained.
