Give the customer the same product

Select Buy A Get A when the reward is another unit of the qualifying product. The extension adds the free unit as a separate cart line at the promotional discount. This is the direct choice for a classic buy-one-get-one-free deal.

Give the customer a different product

Select Buy A Get B when buying one product should qualify the shopper for another. Depending on the promotion configuration, the gift can be selected from eligible products defined by category, tag, product list, or variation conditions, or the store can automatically add a chosen gift. Use the eligibility rules to keep the reward limited to the products intended for the campaign.

Set quantity thresholds and repeat behavior

Set the minimum quantity a shopper must buy, how many free items are earned per paid item, and a maximum number of free items. These controls define whether a deal repeats as the cart quantity rises and stop an eligible cart from receiving unlimited free units. For example, a 2×1 offer requires two qualifying units for one reward; a 3×2 offer grants two reward units for three qualifying units. Configure the rule to match the deal you intend to advertise.

Require a coupon code with Smart Coupons

Smart Coupons provides a coupon-based route for BOGO and gift-with-purchase campaigns. A zero-value main discount is important: it makes the coupon the trigger without discounting the paid product.

  1. Go to Marketing > Coupons > Add coupon.
  2. Under General, choose Fixed cart discount and set the coupon amount to zero.
  3. Under usage restrictions, restrict the coupon to the product that should trigger the offer.
  4. Under Actions > Add products to cart, select the gift product and its quantity.
  5. Set with discount of to 100% so the gift is free.
  6. Publish or save the coupon, then share its code with eligible customers.

The 100% discount applies to the gift product, while the zero fixed-cart amount avoids reducing the trigger product’s price. Smart Coupons also documents same-product BOGO, cross-product BOGO, bundle deals, quantity offers such as buy three get one, and gift-a-product campaigns.

Configure BOGO from an individual product

Quick Buy One Get One Free exposes its offer settings in the product editor. Use this route when the offer belongs to a particular product rather than a centrally managed promotion.

  1. Go to Products > All Products and edit the product that will trigger the offer.
  2. Open the BOGO tab and enable Enable BOGO for this product.
  3. Choose Buy A Get A or Buy A Get B under Offer Type.
  4. For Buy A Get B, select the reward under Free Product(s).
  5. Set Minimum Quantity Required, Free Items Per Paid Item, and Maximum Free Items Per Cart as needed.
  6. Enter a Frontend Message and save the product.

Its documented example gives one free item per paid item and caps the offer at five free items per cart. Treat that as an example configuration, not a universal default.

Check the offer before publishing it

  • Confirm that the qualifying product or products match the intended promotion.
  • Check the minimum purchase quantity and repeat ratio against the offer wording customers will see.
  • Set a maximum free-item cap if the promotion should not scale without limit.
  • For a different-product reward, verify which gifts are eligible and whether the customer selects one or the store adds a fixed gift automatically.
  • For coupon redemption, confirm the main coupon amount is zero and the gift receives a 100% discount.
  • Check that the promotion or coupon is saved and published before sharing it.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
