The most direct route is to record a clean, single-note humming line, upload it to a transcription service, export MIDI, then correct the notes in a MIDI editor. Prepare A Humming Recording That Transcribes Cleanly
Humming is usually a monophonic source: one perceived pitch at a time. That makes it easier to convert than a full mix, but breath noise, room echo and sliding between notes can still create extra or misplaced MIDI events. Record the melody once while keeping the phone or microphone close, use a quiet room, and avoid music playing in the background.
- Hum the melody on a steady syllable such as “mm” or “la”.
- Leave a short pause before and after the phrase so the start and end are obvious.
- Keep the tune short for the first pass. Each service has its own duration limits.
- Save the recording where you can upload it from your phone or computer.
Do not add harmony until the main line is working. If two notes overlap in your hum, the result may need manual editing because these tools are not all documented as polyphonic humming converters.

- Review the generated notation for the correct melody line.

- Open MuScriptor on the platform you use.
- Provide the humming recording as the transcription input.
- Export the resulting MIDI and inspect it in your music software.
- Delete unwanted notes and quantize only after checking the feel against the original performance.

- Download MIDI and edit the timing and pitch in your MIDI software.

Clean The MIDI After Export
- Mute the original audio briefly and check whether each MIDI note matches the melody you remember.
- Remove very short notes created by consonants, breaths or room noise.
- Join notes that should be one held pitch, then split notes where your hum clearly changes pitch.
- Set the project tempo only after the note order is correct; humming often has loose timing.
- Transpose the finished line if it sits outside your instrument’s comfortable range.
Rights And Personal Recordings
Your own humming is a recording of your voice, so use it only with the consent of anyone else whose voice appears in the file. Platform terms control whether generated or transcribed material can be used commercially.
