For a screenshot you already saved, open it in a browser or image viewer, choose Print, select Save as PDF, and adjust paper size, orientation, margins, and scale until the preview shows sensible page breaks. If you are capturing a webpage on an iPhone, use the screenshot editor’s Full Page option and save directly to Files as a PDF. These are different workflows: one paginates an existing image, while the other captures a page and creates the PDF at capture time.
Choose the workflow that matches your source
A “long screenshot” can mean either a very tall image file (PNG, JPEG, or WebP) that is already on your device, or a webpage that you have not captured yet. The right method depends on which one you have.

Convert an existing long screenshot on a computer
1. Open the image
Open the PNG, JPEG, or WebP in your browser, a built-in image viewer, or another application that exposes a print command. A browser is often convenient because its print preview makes page breaks easy to inspect.
2. Open the print dialog
- Choose Print from the application menu or press the platform’s print shortcut.
- Set the destination or printer to Save as PDF (on some systems this appears as Microsoft Print to PDF or a similar PDF destination).
- Do not send the job to a physical printer. A PDF destination writes a file instead; the exact label varies by operating system and application.
The documented Awesome Screenshot workflow also starts with printing a locally saved or cloud-hosted long screenshot and allows paper size, pages per sheet, margins, and scale adjustments. 3. Make the image readable on each page
- Paper size: Choose the paper your readers will use, such as A4 or Letter. A mismatch can add unexpected white space or alter page breaks.
- Orientation: Use portrait for narrow web pages and landscape for dashboards or wide layouts. Preview both if the image is close to the page width.
- Margins: Smaller margins provide more usable image area, while larger margins make the output easier to annotate or print.
- Scale: “Fit to page” or an equivalent setting prevents horizontal clipping. If text becomes too small, use a larger paper size, landscape orientation, or a deliberate scale rather than forcing the entire image onto one sheet.
- Pages per sheet: Keep this at one when legibility matters. Two or more pages per sheet reduces the physical page count but shrinks the screenshot.
4. Inspect the preview before saving
Scroll through the print preview. Check that the first page is not mostly blank, content is not clipped at the left or right edge, and important sections do not break in a confusing place. A long image may naturally become many pages; that is the intended result of pagination. If the preview is acceptable, choose Save, select a filename and folder, and open the resulting PDF to verify the saved file.
Save a full-page webpage capture as a PDF on iPhone
Apple’s documented full-page workflow is for content currently displayed in a supported app, such as a webpage, document, or email. It is not the same as converting an already-saved tall image from the Photos library.
- Display the webpage, document, or email you want to capture.
- Take a screenshot using your iPhone’s normal screenshot buttons.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail that appears.
- At the top of the editor, choose Full Page.
- Review the captured page using the thumbnail strip or scroll controls.
- Tap Done, then choose Save PDF to Files.
- Select a folder and filename in Files, then tap Save. Apple also documents sharing the PDF from this same flow.

Use a mobile image-to-PDF app when you already have the image
Adobe Acrobat on Android
Adobe documents this path: open Acrobat, choose Create → Create PDF, then select the image. Adobe states that this image-to-PDF feature requires an Acrobat subscription. The documented mobile article was updated August 18, 2026: Adobe’s image-to-PDF instructions.
Adobe Acrobat on iOS
In Acrobat for iOS, Adobe documents Add → Create PDF, followed by selecting the image. The same subscription requirement applies according to Adobe’s documentation. This is optional software; it is not required when your computer or phone already provides a PDF print destination.
Other vendor-documented print paths
Adobe’s broader screenshot guide also describes Android print-to-PDF, macOS Preview’s Export as PDF, and Windows Photos with Microsoft Print to PDF: Adobe’s screenshot-to-PDF guide. These are vendor instructions rather than a guarantee that every OS release uses the same menus, so rely on the print preview and look for a PDF destination.

How to control page breaks and output quality
When the PDF is one tiny page
The print dialog is probably scaling the entire tall image to fit one sheet. Change the scale to a multi-page or actual-size option, or increase the paper size and use landscape where appropriate. Confirm in preview that the image spans several pages.
When content is cut off
Choose a wider paper orientation, reduce the scale slightly, or enable a “fit to printable area” setting. Recheck both the left and right edges on a landscape preview; a long screenshot can be tall and wide at the same time.

There is no universal way for a PDF printer to understand the screenshot’s original web layout because it is a single raster image. Adjust scale, margins, or orientation to move breaks, then inspect every page. If a particular section must stay together, crop or annotate the source image before printing and repeat the preview check.

When text looks blurry
A PDF made from a raster screenshot cannot recover detail that was not present in the source image. Avoid putting multiple pages on one sheet, keep the original-resolution image, and choose a scale that does not enlarge a low-resolution source excessively.
When the saved PDF is unexpectedly large
Long screenshots contain many pixels. Use a smaller image dimension or an image format and quality setting appropriate to your source before printing, while checking that text remains readable. Do not trade away legibility merely to reduce file size.
When there is no PDF destination
Look for a destination selector rather than a physical printer list. On Windows this may be Microsoft Print to PDF; on macOS, the print dialog commonly exposes a PDF action. If your particular viewer has no PDF option, open the image in a browser or system application that does.

Troubleshooting checklist
- Only the visible viewport was captured: For iPhone, reopen the screenshot editor and select Full Page. For an existing image, print the image file itself rather than taking another viewport screenshot.
- The PDF has blank trailing pages: Check scale and paper size, and inspect the source image for a large blank canvas below the content.
- Pages are in the wrong orientation: Switch portrait/landscape and verify the preview before saving.
- A mobile app asks for payment: Acrobat’s documented image-to-PDF feature requires a subscription; use the built-in desktop PDF destination if you do not want that requirement.
- The API response is not a usable PDF: Confirm that your request asks for PDF output, check the HTTP response and
