To combine screenshots into one PDF, put the image files in the order you want, use a workflow that accepts multiple images, create the PDF, and then inspect every page before sharing it. On a Mac, Finder can do this without extra software: select the screenshots in the required order, Control-click, choose Quick Actions > Create PDF, and open the resulting file to verify it. For detailed page review and drag-and-drop reordering, Adobe Acrobat’s desktop Combine files tool is the more controllable option.
Choose the workflow that matches your device and control requirements
The conversion itself is simple: each screenshot becomes a page in a new PDF. The important decisions are page order, whether you need to remove or rearrange pages, and whether the workflow requires a subscription or sends files to a service.

Before you create the PDF
Collect and name the screenshots
Copy the images into one folder or album. If the screenshots tell a story or document a procedure, use names such as 01-login.png, 02-settings.png and 03-result.png. Numbering makes the intended sequence visible, but it does not by itself guarantee that every application will sort by filename.
Check orientation and readability
Open several images at full size. A portrait screenshot mixed with landscape images may be rotated or letterboxed by the PDF creator. Confirm that text is legible and that sensitive information is removed before sharing. A PDF is a container, not an image-enhancement step; a low-resolution screenshot remains low resolution on the page.

Decide whether one image should equal one page
The workflows below treat each selected screenshot as a separate PDF page. If you instead want several screenshots on one sheet, use a layout or print tool; that is a different task from combining images into a multi-page PDF.
Combine screenshots on a Mac with Finder
Apple documents a built-in Finder workflow and explicitly states: “The files appear in the PDF in the same order that you select them.” Follow these steps from Apple’s Combine files into a PDF on Mac guidance:
- In Finder, open the folder containing your screenshots.
- Select the files in the page order you want. Use Command-click for individual files or Shift-click for a range. Pay attention to the order in which you select them, because Apple says that selection order becomes PDF page order.
- Control-click the selection.
- Choose Quick Actions > Create PDF.
- Finder creates a PDF automatically, with a name similar to the first selected file. Rename it to something descriptive, such as
project-screenshots.pdf. - Open the PDF in Preview. Page through it and check sequence, orientation, cropping and text size before uploading or sending it.
Finder is the quickest route when your screenshots are already on the Mac and you are confident about the selection order. If you need to inspect thumbnails and correct the sequence after importing, use Acrobat desktop instead.
Combine and reorder pages in Adobe Acrobat desktop
Adobe’s Combine files into one PDF instructions describe a review-oriented process for Windows and macOS:
- Open Acrobat and start the Combine files workflow.
- Choose the option to add files, then select your screenshot images. Add files in batches if they are stored in different folders.
- Use the preview area to inspect the pages. Drag thumbnails to change their order.
- Select any unwanted page and remove it before combining.
- Start the combine operation.
- Rename the resulting document and save it in the folder you will use for upload or archiving.
- Reopen the saved PDF and perform a final page-by-page check.
This route is useful when filenames are unreliable, when you must remove a duplicate, or when a client requires a specific sequence. The cited Adobe desktop page explains the controls but does not establish that the feature is free or that an account is unnecessary, so check the plan shown in your installed Acrobat edition.

What Acrobat mobile does—and does not establish
Adobe’s mobile help page, Convert images to PDFs in Acrobat on mobile, updated August 18, 2026, documents converting image formats including JPEG, JPG and PNG to PDF. It provides separate Android and iOS entry paths and says the feature requires an Acrobat subscription.
That page does not demonstrate selecting several screenshots in one operation or confirm how page order is preserved for a batch. Therefore, do not rely on an assumed multi-image workflow. If your phone’s current Acrobat version presents a multi-select option, test it with copies of the images, verify the resulting order, and keep the desktop route available for a large or critical set.
Windows and other native phone methods
Exact current official instructions for selecting several screenshot files on Windows and preserving a chosen order were not established in the available documentation. Secondary guides describe approaches such as image printing, but those descriptions are not enough to promise a particular sort order or menu label across Windows editions.
Phone share sheets also vary by operating-system release and app. A multi-select screen may sort by capture date, filename or selection sequence, and an app may create separate PDFs rather than one multi-page file. Before using such a route for important records:
- Make a small test set with clearly numbered images.
- Confirm that the output contains one page per image.
- Check the page sequence after saving, not just the thumbnail preview.
- Use a documented desktop workflow if the order cannot be corrected reliably on the phone.
The Government of New Brunswick’s multi-page document upload FAQ discusses multi-page documents but does not replace current, platform-specific instructions for your computer or phone. Verify the finished PDF
Do not assume a successful save means the document is correct. Open the actual output file and check:
- Page count: it should equal the number of screenshots you intended to include.
- Sequence: the first, middle and final pages should follow the story or procedure.
- Orientation: portrait and landscape pages should display without sideways content or unexpected clipping.
- Legibility: zoom into small interface text and labels.
- Completeness: make sure no screenshot was skipped, duplicated or replaced by a stale version.
- Privacy: remove passwords, tokens, personal addresses and other data that the recipient should not see.
For an upload portal, also check its maximum file size and accepted extension. If the PDF is too large, reduce image dimensions or export quality in the application that created it; avoid repeatedly recompressing an already-compressed screenshot.

Common problems and fixes
The pages are in the wrong order
On Mac Finder, recreate the PDF and select files in the intended order; Apple documents selection order as the page order. In Acrobat desktop, drag the page thumbnails into place before combining. On Windows or a phone, do not infer the rule from filename order—use a numbered test set or switch to a workflow with visible reordering.
One screenshot is missing
Confirm that the image was selected and that its file type is supported by the application. Look for duplicate extensions, cloud files that have not downloaded, or a filter that hides a file. Reopen the source folder and compare the intended list with the PDF page count.
A page is sideways or cropped
Open the source image to determine whether its pixels are already rotated. In Acrobat, inspect the preview and rotate the affected page before saving if the control is available. If the content is clipped, recreate the PDF with the original image rather than a cropped preview.

The PDF is unexpectedly large
High-resolution screenshots, especially retina captures, can produce large files. Remove unnecessary images, resize copies to the dimensions needed by the recipient, or use the application’s optimization controls. Keep an original image archive so you can regenerate the PDF at a different quality later.

Adobe’s mobile documentation states that image-to-PDF conversion requires an Acrobat subscription. Use a Mac Finder workflow where available, or use Acrobat desktop under the plan associated with your installation. Do not assume that a similarly named phone feature is included without checking its current terms.
The PDF opens but displays blank pages
Check the source files individually. A screenshot that is still downloading, damaged or zero bytes can become a blank page. Replace it with a fully downloaded copy, recreate the PDF and inspect the result before uploading.
