For a GiftCardMall Visa card labeled MyGift, go to mygift.giftcardmall.com. For a GiftCardMall Mastercard, use mcgift.giftcardmall.com. Choose the balance or transaction option and enter the card details requested, usually the card number, expiration date, and CVV. If you are unsure which card you have, use the website printed on the card or its packaging.
Check your balance online
- Find the website printed on the card, its back, or its carrier packaging. Confirm whether the card is a Visa, Mastercard, or merchant-branded gift card.
- Type the listed official address into your browser rather than following an unfamiliar search result or advertisement. Visa MyGift cards use https://mygift.giftcardmall.com/; GiftCardMall Mastercard cards use https://mcgift.giftcardmall.com/.
- Select Check Balance, Check Balance/Transactions, or the equivalent inquiry option. The wording and page layout can vary by card program.
- Enter the card number, expiration date, and CVV or security code requested by the form, then submit it.
- Review the available balance and, if offered, recent transactions. Close the page when finished, especially on a shared device.
GiftCardMall’s shopping experience was integrated into Giftcards.com, but existing Visa and Mastercard cards continue to have dedicated management portals, according to Giftcards.com’s rebrand announcement. A balance lookup does not necessarily require registration; activation and registration are separate matters discussed below.

The merchant-card portal says it is for cards displaying its address; cards that show a different website should follow their own instructions. Do not assume that every card sold through GiftCardMall shares one balance system.
Check by phone
Call the customer-service number printed on the back of your card if the website is unavailable or you cannot identify the right portal. Certain Visa GiftCardMall materials list 1-855-202-5628 for automated balance inquiries, but that number is not universal; the number on your specific card takes priority. The applicable number is also listed in this Visa cardholder agreement.

An automated line may ask for card information. Do not give your card number, expiration date, CVV, or PIN to an unsolicited caller, text, email, or social-media account claiming to offer support. Some merchant-branded programs list 866-294-6806 for inquiries, but use it only if it matches the terms or support details for your card; see the program’s official FAQ.
Understand a balance that looks wrong
The available balance is the amount generally available to spend now. Transaction history records purchases, refunds, and adjustments; a pending authorization is a temporary reduction that may change before a merchant submits the final amount.

- Recent purchase: A completed transaction may have posted since you last checked.
- Pending hold: Hotels, rental-car companies, restaurants, fuel pumps, and similar merchants may authorize an estimated amount. That hold can temporarily reduce available funds. The merchant-card agreement explains preauthorizations.
- Refund not posted: A return does not necessarily appear immediately; check the transaction record again or ask the merchant about its refund timing.
- Wrong card or entry: Confirm the card and recheck the number and expiration date you entered.
- Unrecognized transaction: Contact the issuer promptly using the number on the card and follow the lost, stolen, or compromised-card steps below.
Troubleshoot a failed lookup
- Check the address carefully and make sure the card type matches the portal. A Visa lookup will not substitute for the Mastercard page.
- Re-enter the card details. If the form rejects spaces, enter the card number without them; check the expiration format shown on the page and read the security code from the correct location on the card.
- Try an up-to-date browser or a private window. The merchant-card portal notes that an ad blocker may interfere with its balance page.
- If the site reports a security or lockout problem, do not keep submitting details. Call the number on the card instead.
- Keep the purchase receipt and card packaging in case support needs them to investigate activation, replacement, or a disputed transaction.
A failed lookup alone does not establish that a card is inactive or fraudulent; a wrong portal, typing error, browser issue, temporary service problem, or card-specific restriction can also cause it.
Why a card with funds may still be declined
A displayed balance does not guarantee that every transaction will be approved. Check the available amount against the purchase total, including any hold or estimated authorization, and consider these common restrictions:

- Billing details: Some online, mail, or telephone purchases require registration so the merchant can verify a name and billing address. Registration rules depend on the card and purchase type; it is not automatically required for every balance check.
- Merchant or transaction type: A merchant may not accept prepaid gift cards, or the card terms may restrict subscriptions, recurring payments, cash transactions, or certain rentals.
- Geography: Some cards restrict use to the United States or otherwise limit foreign transactions. Check the agreement for your exact card; certain restrictions appear in the Visa agreement and the Visa eGift agreement.
- Activation or account status: A newly purchased card may need activation before it can be used. A card may also be expired, blocked, or under review.
For a purchase larger than the card’s available balance, ask the merchant whether it accepts split payments before attempting the transaction; acceptance is not guaranteed.

Contact the issuer immediately through the number on the card or the official support page for that card program. Preserve the receipt, packaging, card number if available, last four digits, and any statement or screenshot showing an unauthorized transaction. The merchant-card FAQ says prompt reporting and card information can matter when requesting help. Replacement or reimbursement is not guaranteed; eligibility depends on the applicable agreement, verification, and reporting requirements.

Activation, expiration, and fees depend on the card
Activation, balance checking, and registration are different functions. A portal may offer more than one of them, but a balance inquiry does not mean the card has been activated or registered. Some card programs require registration for certain online, mail, or telephone purchases, as described in the applicable Visa agreement.
Expiration and inactivity terms also vary by issuer and program. One merchant-card program says the plastic card expires while remaining funds do not, and that a replacement may be issued; that is not a universal rule for all GiftCardMall cards. Some Visa materials describe a $4.95 monthly inactivity fee after 12 consecutive months of inactivity, beginning in month 13; other programs have different fee terms. Check the agreement linked from your card or portal rather than applying one card’s rules to another.

Some retailers cannot see a prepaid card’s remaining balance, so the official portal or the number on the card is generally the more dependable check. For merchant-branded cards, the retailer may be able to help, but the card’s own instructions and terms control.
