Each captures content below the visible viewport without your manually scrolling through the page.
The exact labels can change with browser version, device, market, or operating system. The steps below reflect the documented desktop workflows from Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
What a full-page screenshot captures
A standard operating-system screenshot records only the pixels currently on screen. A full-page browser capture renders the page beyond that viewport and saves the result as one long image. This is useful for design reviews, bug reports, documentation, archiving, and sharing a page that does not fit on one screen.
Do not confuse the two Chrome commands: Capture screenshot means the current viewport, while Capture a full size screenshot includes content outside it. Chrome device mode can set a particular viewport before capture, but it simulates a mobile experience from a desktop; it is not the same as running the page on a physical phone.

Chrome: capture the entire page from DevTools
1. Open the page and, if needed, set the viewport
- Navigate to the webpage in Chrome.
- Open DevTools. On a desktop keyboard, press F12 or use Chrome’s menu to open Developer Tools.
- To capture a responsive layout, enable the device toolbar. Choose a preset or enter the viewport dimensions you need. For an ordinary desktop page, device emulation is optional.
Chrome documents device mode as a simulation rather than a real mobile device. Use it to inspect responsive layouts, not as proof of device-specific behavior. Chrome’s device-mode documentation explains that limitation.
2. Choose the full-size command
- With the device toolbar visible, open its More options menu.
- Select Capture a full size screenshot.
- Chrome generates an image containing the page below the viewport and downloads it through the browser.
If you select Capture screenshot instead, you receive only the visible viewport. That is the most common reason a supposedly full-page image appears short.
3. Check the result
- Open the downloaded image and inspect the bottom edge.
- Confirm that sections loaded only after entering the page are present.
- If you changed the viewport, record those dimensions with the image so another person can reproduce the capture.
Firefox: use Save full page
1. Open the built-in screenshot tool
- Open the target page in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Take Screenshot. On Windows or Linux, you can press Ctrl+Shift+S; on macOS, press Command+Shift+S.
Firefox’s tool can capture the visible area, a selected region, or a page element. For the entire document, choose the full-page option.

2. Save or copy the page
- Select Save full page.
- Choose whether to download the image or copy it to the clipboard.
- Open the saved file or paste the clipboard image into your destination application to verify that the bottom of the page is included.
Mozilla describes this feature as capturing visible parts of a web page or even the full web page, with options to copy or save the image. See Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot instructions for the current interface.
Microsoft Edge: capture a full webpage
1. Open Screenshot
- Load the page in Edge.
- Open the page’s right-click menu and choose Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S.
2. Select full-page capture
- Choose the full-page capture option in the Screenshot tool.
- Let Edge render the long page.
- Use the available markup tools if you need to annotate it, then choose to copy or save the image.
Microsoft says Edge’s tool can capture long or moving webpages and content beyond the screen. Availability and functionality can vary by device type, market, and browser version. Check Microsoft’s Edge Screenshot page if the command is missing or labeled differently.
Which browser method should you choose?

For a one-off image, use the command already built into the browser you have open. Firefox and Edge expose a direct page-menu workflow; Chrome’s full-size command is in DevTools. If the result needs to read like a paginated document rather than one very tall image, print-to-PDF is a general alternative, but the exact print steps depend on your platform and are not covered by the browser instructions above.

Responsive pages and mobile layouts
Use a deliberate viewport
A page may look completely different at desktop, tablet, and phone widths. In Chrome, enable the device toolbar and select the required preset or enter dimensions before choosing Capture a full size screenshot. This captures the page as laid out for that simulated viewport.
Know what simulation cannot prove
Chrome’s device mode changes the emulated viewport and related settings from a desktop browser. It does not run the page on an actual phone. If touch input, mobile browser differences, sensors, or device-specific code matter, capture and test on the real device as well.

The menu only offers a normal screenshot
In Chrome, open DevTools and the device toolbar; the full-size command is in that toolbar’s More options menu, not the ordinary operating-system screenshot shortcut. In Firefox, open Take Screenshot from the page context menu and choose Save full page. In Edge, use the page context menu or Ctrl+Shift+S, then select full page.

The bottom of the page is cut off
First confirm that you selected the full-page command rather than a visible-only command. Then wait for the capture to finish before opening the file. Pages that build content dynamically may not show sections that had not rendered yet; reload the page, allow its content to appear, and capture again.
The layout is the wrong size
Set the intended viewport before capturing. A desktop viewport and a narrow emulated phone viewport can produce different line breaks, menus, and image arrangements. Remember that an emulated phone view remains an approximation.
The browser’s labels or shortcut differ
Browser interfaces change. Edge explicitly notes variation by device, market, and browser version, and the same principle applies to other browsers. Check the current help page for your browser or use another documented browser workflow rather than assuming an older menu name still exists.

- Matte and Glossy Sides: It's a reversible privacy screen filter, giving you the flexibility to choose glossy or matte finish. The matte side will have less glare, however the glossy side will have stronger privacy
- Perfect for Open Workspaces: Ensure your working space is bright and well lit. Privacy screens do not work in dimly lit areas

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a full-page capture include content that appears only after the initial load?
Only content that has rendered when the browser captures the page can appear. Let dynamic sections finish loading, then run the full-page command; if a site never renders the content in that session, the browser tool cannot add it afterward.
Are the Chrome, Firefox, and Edge commands guaranteed to stay identical?
No. Browser vendors can change labels and availability, and Edge specifically documents variation by device, market, and browser version. If a command is absent, consult the browser’s current support page or use another documented workflow.
