Open the page, press Ctrl+Shift+S, choose Capture full page, then review the image and either annotate it, copy it, or save it. The built-in Screenshot tool normally needs no extension.
Capture an entire webpage in Edge
Edge’s Screenshot feature captures the page beyond the visible browser window, including content below the fold. Microsoft describes it as capturing “an entire webpage in a single screenshot—even content that extends beyond your screen.”
1. Open the page
Launch Microsoft Edge and navigate to the webpage you need. Let the page finish loading before starting the capture, especially if it contains images, charts, or other content that appears after a delay.
2. Open Screenshot
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- If the shortcut is unavailable, right-click the page and select Screenshot.
- You can also open Screenshot from Edge’s Settings menu.
The exact menu placement can vary with Edge version, device type, market, or organizational settings.

3. Choose Capture full page
In the Screenshot panel, select Capture full page. This is the middle option in Microsoft’s learning-center instructions. Edge processes the page and opens a capture overlay containing the complete image.
4. Review and mark up the image
Inspect the result from top to bottom. The overlay includes pen and touch-markup tools, so you can draw attention to text or areas of the page before sharing it.
5. Copy or save
- Select Copy to place the image on the clipboard, then paste it into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, an email, or another application.
- Select Save to write the screenshot to a file.
Use Copy when you need a quick image inside a document; use Save when you need a separate file for storage or upload.
What Edge’s full-page capture includes
Content below the visible screen
The defining benefit is that Edge captures the page’s full vertical extent rather than only the viewport currently visible on your monitor. You do not have to take a series of screenshots and stitch them together manually.
Moving media stays active
Microsoft notes that videos, GIFs, and web carousels remain active while Screenshot works. If you need a particular frame, pause the video or carousel, or position it on the frame you want before starting the capture. Otherwise, the saved image may show a different moment than the one you expected.

Selected-area capture
When a whole page is unnecessary, use Screenshot’s selected-area option instead. Drag around the portion you want and capture only that region; this is useful for a single chart, product card, or error message.
When the Screenshot option is missing
Try the alternate launch paths
If Ctrl+Shift+S does nothing, right-click the webpage and look for Screenshot. If it is not in the context menu, open Edge Settings and search for Screenshot. Feature labels and placement can differ by browser version and device.
Check organizational policy
In managed environments, the WebCaptureEnabled policy controls the Screenshot feature, which was formerly called Web Capture. The policy can allow capture of web and PDF content with inking tools. If your administrator has disabled it, only the organization’s Edge administrator can restore access.

Microsoft says Screenshot functionality can vary by device type, market, and browser version. Updating Edge may expose a newer interface, but an update cannot override a policy restriction.
Use Print when you need a PDF or printable document
Screenshot produces an image. If your objective is an archival or printable document, open Edge’s Print command instead and configure the print output. Choose the required layout and enable background graphics when the page’s colors or images need to appear in the result. Print is the practical fallback when a PDF is more useful than one very tall image.

Choose Screenshot for visual review, annotation, or pasting an image into another application. Choose Print when pagination, paper layout, or a PDF deliverable matters.

Extension compatibility, permissions, pricing, and any affiliate or referral arrangement can change. Check the live Edge Add-ons listing before installing or recommending one. For a normal capture, start with Edge’s built-in tool because it avoids an additional extension and its permissions.

- Wait for the page to settle: Start after the main content and images have appeared.
- Pause motion: Stop videos, GIFs, and carousels if a specific frame is important.
- Choose the smallest useful output: Use selected-area capture for a single component instead of producing a very tall image.
- Use Print for documents: A PDF or paginated printout is easier to read and distribute than a long image when the page is document-like.
- Review before sharing: Check the entire overlay for transient banners, personal information, or content that changed while the page was being captured.

“Screenshot” is not in the menu
Use Ctrl+Shift+S, then check Edge Settings. If all launch paths are missing, ask your administrator whether WebCaptureEnabled has disabled the feature.
The result shows the wrong video or carousel frame
Moving media remains active during capture. Pause the media or position the carousel on the desired frame before selecting Capture full page.

The interface looks different from these steps
Edge’s availability and functionality vary by browser version, device type, and market. Look for Screenshot in the page’s right-click menu or Edge Settings, and use the label Capture full page when the panel opens.
The page is too dynamic to capture reliably
