Start by checking whether the glitch happens in one Roblox experience or everywhere. Then restart Roblox and your device, lower the in-game graphics quality, and check Roblox Status. If the problem affects every experience, update your graphics driver; reinstall Roblox only if its local files may be damaged. A single fix cannot resolve every visual problem: a broken experience, driver issue, outage, and hardware fault need different responses.
First, identify what kind of problem you have
“Visual glitch” can mean anything from ordinary stuttering to corrupted rendering. Roblox lists unusual textures, warped images, unintelligible text, graphics crashes, and “Graphics failed to initialize” errors among graphics problems. The pattern of the fault is more useful than the symptom alone.

- Leave and relaunch the experience. If the issue remains, fully close Roblox rather than leaving it suspended, then reopen it.
- Restart the device. This clears temporary problems but does not diagnose a broken experience or failing hardware.
- Test a different experience. If only one is affected, report the issue to that experience’s developer; reinstalling Roblox is unlikely to repair a broken asset in one game.
- Check the live service status. Visit Roblox Status. During an outage or maintenance, users may have trouble joining, see lag or delays, or experience delayed delivery of purchases and virtual items. An “operational” status does not rule out a smaller regional, experience-specific, or client issue.
- Reduce graphics load. Close demanding background apps and lower Roblox’s graphics quality as described below.
Lower Roblox graphics quality
In an experience, press Esc, open Settings, switch Graphics Quality – Auto off, and lower the graphics level. Resume play and see whether performance improves. The exact controls can vary by platform.

Lower settings reduce visual detail and may help stuttering or a device that is struggling to render. They are less likely to fix persistent texture corruption, flickering caused by a driver defect, or a broken Roblox update. If the picture becomes smoother but remains corrupted, continue troubleshooting rather than assuming the issue is resolved.
Windows PC: check the graphics driver and compatibility
Update from the official manufacturer
Find out whether your graphics hardware is from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel, then get the driver from that manufacturer’s official support site. On a laptop, the computer maker may provide a customized driver, so check its support page if a generic driver causes trouble. For Apple graphics on macOS, check for system updates through Apple’s normal update settings. Avoid generic driver-updater utilities: they can install the wrong driver or add unwanted software.
If the glitch started immediately after a graphics-driver update, check the manufacturer’s release notes. If the manufacturer provides a supported rollback procedure, consider it rather than installing drivers from an unofficial download site.

Check which graphics hardware Roblox Studio sees
If Studio opens, Roblox documents this path: open Studio Settings, choose Diagnostics, and find GfxCard. This can help identify the graphics card Roblox is using; it does not by itself prove that the card is faulty.
Check DirectX support if Roblox reports a graphics error
Press Windows key + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter. Open the Display, Display 1, or Display 2 tab. On Windows 8.1 or 10, inspect Feature Levels; on Windows 7, inspect DDI Version. Roblox’s graphics support article says its application requires DirectX 10-or-higher feature-level support. Treat this as a compatibility check, not as a universal explanation for modern visual artifacts. See Roblox’s computer graphics troubleshooting steps.
Turn off Windows compatibility mode if it was enabled
If Roblox reports outdated graphics even though your system appears compatible, right-click the Roblox or Roblox Studio application, select Properties, open Compatibility, and make sure Run this program in compatibility mode for is not checked. Apply the change and relaunch. Enabling an arbitrary compatibility version is not a general graphics fix.

If Studio itself has the visual problem
If Roblox Studio opens but its rendering or settings appear corrupted, try its built-in reset: open Studio, select File > Settings, choose Reset All Settings in the lower-left corner, confirm, and relaunch. This resets Studio settings; it is not a complete reset of Roblox Player files or every local cache.
Clear files or reinstall only when appropriate
Consider reinstalling Roblox if it crashes after a restart, gets stuck in an install or update loop, or you suspect damaged installation files. Roblox’s desktop troubleshooting guidance includes rebooting, clearing temporary internet files, checking firewall interference, and reinstalling as steps for general desktop issues.
- Close Roblox, Studio, and related launchers, then restart the computer.
- Uninstall Roblox through the operating system.
- Clear relevant temporary internet files if you are following Roblox’s desktop reinstall guidance.
- Download Roblox again from its official website or your device’s official app store, and install with other programs closed.
- Test more than one experience.
Do not assume there is one cache-clearing path for every Roblox installation. Browser temporary files, desktop client files, the Microsoft Store app, and mobile app data are handled differently. Avoid deleting folders based on unverified instructions. Clearing app data may sign you out or remove local preferences; clearing a cache can mean assets have to download again. Reinstalling can replace damaged client files, but it will not repair an outage, a broken experience asset, a graphics driver, or physical hardware.

Android, iPhone, iPad, Xbox, and PlayStation
Platform controls differ, so use your device’s official settings and store rather than applying Windows file instructions.
- Android: Force-close Roblox and restart the device. Update Roblox in Google Play and check for an Android system update. If your Android settings offer a Roblox cache option, try it; clearing app data is a stronger step and can sign you out. Reinstall from Google Play if necessary.
- iPhone or iPad: Force-close Roblox, restart the device, update Roblox in the App Store, and check for an iOS or iPadOS update. If storage is nearly full, free some space. If local app files appear damaged, delete and reinstall Roblox; there is not a universal iOS “clear cache” control for Roblox.
- Xbox or PlayStation: Fully quit Roblox rather than leaving it suspended, restart the console, and install available Roblox and system updates. Test another experience. Reinstall only if the problem affects multiple experiences and simpler steps have failed.
For device-specific instructions, use the relevant section of Roblox’s technical support categories. Check Roblox Status before concluding the console or phone is defective.
When to investigate the display or hardware
If artifacts appear outside Roblox, treat the problem as potentially broader than the game. On a desktop, try another display cable or monitor/TV if available. Check that vents are not blocked and the device is not unusually hot or running its fans abnormally loudly. A laptop or desktop with more than one graphics device may offer a safe way to test another GPU, but only use controls you understand; do not open the computer or graphics card unless qualified.

Persistent artifacts across applications can point to a driver, display, overheating, or hardware issue, but they do not prove a GPU is failing. If corruption continues outside Roblox, the device overheats severely, crashes repeatedly, or smells as if something is burning, stop using it and seek qualified repair support.
If none of these steps work
Keep a short record before contacting support. Include:
- The exact symptom and the date it started.
- Your device model, operating system, graphics-card model, and driver version (for a PC).
- The Roblox app version if visible, and whether one or all experiences are affected.
- Whether other games or apps show the same corruption.
- Any recent Roblox, operating-system, or driver update that preceded the problem.
- Experience names and links, plus a screenshot or short screen recording if safe to share.
- The troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
Contact Roblox Support; use its bug-reporting route when the issue appears reproducible. Never include your password, authentication codes, payment details, or unnecessary personal information.
