Cancel ESPN through the company that bills you. If ESPN charges you directly, use ESPN.com in a computer or mobile browser: open your profile menu, choose Account, then Manage Subscription, select the plan under Plans & Billing, and choose Cancel. If Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon, Disney+, Hulu, or a TV or mobile provider bills you, cancellation must normally be completed through that company instead.
This guide covers U.S. subscriptions and policies checked against information available on August 18, 2026. Names, menus, prices, promotions, and partner arrangements can change.
First, find out who bills you
“ESPN subscription” can refer to several different arrangements. ESPN’s current direct products are ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited, although many people still call the service “ESPN+.” You might also have ESPN access through a Disney bundle, an app store, or a qualifying TV, internet, mobile, or live-TV package.

- Sign in to ESPN and open Account > Manage Subscription. A plan listed under Plans & Billing usually indicates direct ESPN billing.
- Search your email for the original receipt, renewal notice, or cancellation email.
- Review the bank or credit-card statement. Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, Disney, Hulu, or a television provider may appear as the merchant, but statement descriptions are clues rather than guaranteed wording.
- Check your Apple, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon subscriptions.
- Check your Disney+, Hulu, cable, satellite, internet, mobile, or live-TV account.
ESPN’s subscription-management guidance confirms the key rule: subscriptions billed by a third party must be managed with that billing partner.

Cancel a subscription billed directly by ESPN
Use a browser rather than trying to cancel from the ESPN television app:
- Open ESPN in a computer or mobile browser and sign in.
- Hover over or select your profile picture in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Account under Manage My Account.
- Select Manage Subscription.
- Select the subscription shown under Plans & Billing.
- Choose the plan you want to cancel.
- Select Cancel and follow the confirmation prompts.
These labels can look slightly different on a phone, but the current path is documented in ESPN’s official cancellation instructions.
Cancel ESPN through Apple, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon
If the platform—not ESPN—processed the payment, ESPN generally cannot turn off the recurring charge. Open the platform account used for payment and cancel the relevant subscription there. Platform labels may vary by device and account.

Apple
On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions. Select ESPN or the relevant Disney subscription, then choose the cancellation option.
Google Play
Open Google Play, go to your subscriptions, select ESPN or the relevant Disney subscription, and choose the option to cancel. Make sure you are using the Google account that received the charge.

Roku
For subscriptions billed and managed through Roku, use Roku’s subscription-management page at my.roku.com/subscriptions. Roku says turning off auto-renew prevents future charges. A subscription billed directly by the streaming provider must be canceled with that provider, not Roku. See Roku’s subscription and refund guidance.
Amazon
If Amazon is the merchant of record, open the Amazon app-store or subscription settings, find the ESPN-related subscription, and cancel it there. The exact menu can depend on where the subscription was purchased.
Cancel ESPN in a Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN bundle
If Disney+ bills you for a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundle, manage the subscription through Disney+ account settings. If Hulu, Verizon, or another partner bills you, that partner controls cancellation.
Canceling the whole bundle can remove all attached Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN benefits. If you want to keep Disney+ or Hulu, look for a plan-change or downgrade option instead of immediately canceling the entire bundle.
Changing or canceling a bundle can also end a discount, price hold, or promotional offer. Check the terms shown in your account: Disney bundle offers can have different prices, promotional periods, and initial-term conditions. Do not assume that a displayed bundle price applies to every subscriber.

Cancel ESPN included with a TV, mobile, or live-TV provider
ESPN may be an entitlement included with an existing package rather than a separately billed subscription. Supported arrangements can include Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV, Fubo, Comcast Xfinity, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS, U-verse, Cox, and other providers, subject to provider terms.

In that situation, open the provider’s account and check whether ESPN is:
- Included at no additional charge;
- A removable premium add-on; or
- Part of a package that must be changed or canceled.
Removing the qualifying package can also remove ESPN access. Before canceling the whole package, check whether you will lose other channels, a promotional discount, equipment benefits, or contract pricing, and whether an add-on removal or cheaper downgrade is available. ESPN’s provider-entitlement guidance explains that provider terms control these arrangements.

For a direct ESPN Select or Unlimited subscription, ESPN says cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You can normally continue using the paid service until that date, and future recurring charges should stop.
ESPN’s stated policy does not provide refunds or credits for a partially used billing period. Canceling also does not delete your ESPN account.

Free trials can work differently. ESPN says canceling the one-month ESPN Unlimited trial to avoid a charge may end access immediately. Trial rules can vary by promotion, product, and billing partner, so read the confirmation screen rather than assuming access will continue until the trial’s scheduled end.
Can you keep MLB.TV without ESPN?
Yes, ESPN specifically says ESPN Unlimited can be removed while retaining MLB.TV separately. During cancellation, inspect the choices carefully and confirm whether you are removing:
- ESPN only;
- MLB.TV only; or
- Both services.
Removing ESPN Unlimited does not automatically cancel MLB.TV unless you select an option to cancel both. This separation may not apply identically to every bundle or promotion, so review the services listed before confirming. See ESPN’s MLB.TV cancellation guidance.
No cancel button? Try these steps
- Sign out and sign back in with the email address used when the subscription was purchased.
- Try ESPN.com in a desktop or mobile browser instead of the TV or mobile app.
- Check whether Disney+, Hulu, Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon, or a provider is the actual biller.
- Search for the original receipt and compare its account or merchant name with your bank statement.
- Check whether the subscription was already canceled. The account may show an expiration date instead of a renewal date.
- Look for another ESPN subscription under a family member’s account or a different email address. It is possible to have both a direct subscription and a separate bundle or platform subscription.
- If ESPN is the biller, use the ESPN Account & Billing support options. If a third party is the biller, contact that company instead.
Save the confirmation screen, email, confirmation number, or support-chat transcript. Do not rely on deleting the ESPN app or removing a payment method: neither action proves that auto-renewal was canceled.

If your goal is to stop all recurring ESPN charges, cancel the subscription and verify the end date. If you only want to reduce the cost, a plan change may be better.
As listed by ESPN when checked on August 18, 2026, direct plans were priced at $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year for ESPN Select, and $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year for ESPN Unlimited. Prices are time-sensitive and do not establish bundle or third-party pricing.
ESPN says switching from Select to Unlimited takes effect immediately and may involve a prorated charge. Switching from Unlimited to Select takes effect on the next billing date. After an annual plan has been charged, an immediate switch to monthly billing for the same plan may not be available. Review the current options in Manage Subscription before choosing a change; ESPN documents these rules in its plan-switching guidance.
