GEEKOM introduced its QS Series mini PC at CES 2025 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite platform, reportedly in a QS1 or QS1 Pro configuration. The compact ARM-based desktop was described with a 12-core Snapdragon X1E-80-100 processor, up to 64GB of memory, dual SSD support, Wi-Fi 7 and a 45-TOPS AI accelerator. However, as of August 16, 2026, GEEKOM had not clearly established a retail price, confirmed shipping date or current QS1/QS1 Pro purchase listing.
What GEEKOM announced
The QS Series was presented as a consumer-style mini desktop powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite. Early coverage referred to the product as the GEEKOM QS1, while later reports commonly used QS1 Pro. The available material does not clearly establish whether QS1 and QS1 Pro are separate configurations or different names used during the product’s pre-release period.
GEEKOM’s CES 2025 presentation followed promotional material that had appeared in late 2024. It was notable because it placed Snapdragon X Elite in a conventional small desktop rather than limiting the platform to laptops and developer hardware. GEEKOM was described as an early company bringing Snapdragon X to a consumer-oriented mini PC, but “first” depends on whether the comparison means first announced, demonstrated, shipped or broadly sold.
The safest description is that GEEKOM announced and demonstrated the QS1/QS1 Pro. That does not, by itself, prove that the system became a normal retail product.

Reported hardware specifications
The following details come from CES-era reporting and should be treated as reported specifications rather than a final retail specification sheet.
| Component | Reported information |
|---|---|
| Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 |
| CPU | 12 Qualcomm Oryon cores, up to 4.0GHz single- or dual-core boost and up to 3.4GHz multicore frequency |
| Cache | 42MB |
| GPU | Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 integrated graphics |
| AI accelerator | Hexagon NPU rated at up to 45 TOPS |
| Memory | Up to 64GB LPDDR5-8400 in later reporting; earlier material cited LPDDR5-5600 |
| Storage | One M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 ×4 slot and one M.2 2242 PCIe Gen 4 ×2 slot |
| Wired networking | 2.5Gb Ethernet |
| Wireless | Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 |
| Other features | Fingerprint reader integrated into the power button and four digital microphones |
The processor information is better established than the GEEKOM-specific details. Qualcomm’s official Snapdragon X Elite documentation confirms the X1E-80-100’s 12 cores, 4.0GHz maximum frequency, 42MB cache, Adreno X1-85 graphics and 45-TOPS NPU. It does not confirm how GEEKOM implemented cooling, firmware, power limits or the final port layout.

Memory and storage
A 64GB maximum would make the system interesting for development environments, heavy multitasking, virtual machines and some local AI workloads. The reported LPDDR memory is likely soldered, however, so buyers should assume that the initial capacity may be permanent unless GEEKOM’s final documentation says otherwise.
The storage design is more flexible on paper. Later reporting described one full-size M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 ×4 slot and a shorter M.2 2242 PCIe Gen 4 ×2 slot. Earlier material reportedly listed two M.2 2280 slots, so buyers should confirm supported drive lengths and slot wiring before purchasing.
Ports and dimensions
The reported port selection includes:
- One USB4 Type-C port
- Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
- One USB 2.0 Type-A port
- One HDMI 2.0 port
- One 2.5Gb Ethernet port
- One 3.5mm audio jack
- One SD card reader
Published dimensions were inconsistent. One section listed approximately 135.5 × 115.5 × 34.5mm, while another gave approximately 4.4 × 4.4 × 1.4 inches. The metric figure converts to roughly 5.33 × 4.54 × 1.36 inches, so these figures should not be treated as interchangeable. A final GEEKOM product page or manual would be needed to establish the actual footprint.
What Snapdragon X Elite means in a desktop
Snapdragon X Elite is an ARM-based Windows platform, unlike the x86 processors used by conventional Intel and AMD Windows mini PCs. Its Oryon CPU is designed to deliver high performance while using relatively little power, and the platform includes separate GPU and NPU hardware for graphics and AI workloads.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Windows 11 can run native ARM64 applications, while many x86 and x64 Windows applications can run through emulation. That makes the platform more versatile than an ARM system limited to native software, but compatibility is not identical to an Intel or AMD PC.
An application may launch under emulation and still have problems with performance, plug-ins, copy protection, hardware acceleration, background services or shell extensions. Drivers are a particular concern for older printers, scanners, audio interfaces, capture cards, security tokens and specialist equipment. Before buying, check for ARM64 versions of the applications and drivers that matter to you.
Performance expectations
The 12-core X1E-80-100 could make the QS1 appealing for compiling, office multitasking, development work and other CPU-heavy workloads. But Qualcomm’s chip specifications are not independent measurements of the QS1. No verified QS1 benchmark, sustained performance test, thermal test, noise measurement or wall-power result was identified in the available material.
Actual results will depend on GEEKOM’s cooling system, firmware and power limits. A compact enclosure can deliver excellent efficiency, but it can also reduce sustained performance if the cooling solution cannot dissipate heat over long workloads.

AI features need realistic expectations
The Snapdragon X Elite’s 45-TOPS Hexagon NPU is a significant hardware feature, but TOPS is not a measure of how quickly every AI application will run. Practical results depend on whether an application supports the NPU, which model is being used, its precision and quantization, available memory, and whether the workload runs on the CPU, GPU or NPU.
The figure does not guarantee that a particular chatbot will run locally, that large models will fit in memory, or that third-party AI software will automatically use Qualcomm’s accelerator.
Display support: platform capability versus QS1 implementation
Qualcomm states that Snapdragon X Elite platforms can support up to three external UHD displays at 60Hz, along with certain combinations involving 5K or 4K high-refresh displays.
That is a platform-level capability, not confirmation that the QS1 exposes every combination. The final result depends on GEEKOM’s motherboard, firmware, USB4 implementation, HDMI and DisplayPort routing, and Windows drivers. Do not assume that the QS1 can drive three 4K monitors until a final manual or product page confirms the exact arrangement.
Confirmed chip facts versus reported QS1 details
| Better-supported by Qualcomm | Reported for the GEEKOM system |
|---|---|
| X1E-80-100 processor identity | Up to 64GB LPDDR5-8400 |
| 12 Oryon CPU cores | Two M.2 storage positions |
| Up to 4.0GHz frequency | USB, HDMI, SD and audio port layout |
| 42MB cache | Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 |
| Adreno X1-85 GPU | Fingerprint reader and four microphones |
| 45-TOPS NPU | Windows 11 Pro configuration |
| Platform display capabilities | Physical dimensions |
This distinction matters because a processor’s specification page cannot validate a computer’s cooling, storage implementation, firmware, ports or sustained performance.
Availability and price
No verified QS1 or QS1 Pro price was available in the supplied current evidence. GEEKOM’s current U.S. mini-PC catalog lists Intel- and AMD-based models but does not show a QS1/QS1 Pro purchase listing or price. An account identified as GEEKOM’s official Reddit account also stated in October 2025 that the QS1 Pro “hasn’t been released yet.”
GEEKOM announced an expanded U.S. retail presence through Best Buy in June 2026, but that announcement covered selected products and did not establish QS1 availability. A Best Buy presence for other GEEKOM models should not be interpreted as proof that the Snapdragon system is stocked there.
For the latest status, check GEEKOM’s official mini-PC catalog for an actual QS1 product page, configuration, price, warranty terms and checkout option. Treat third-party marketplace listings without matching official documentation cautiously.
Compatibility questions buyers should answer
Productivity and creative software
Microsoft 365 and many mainstream applications may work well, but buyers who depend on Adobe plug-ins, proprietary utilities, specialist production software or hardware-accelerated workflows should verify ARM64 support or test the exact emulated version.
Development and virtualization
Developers should check whether their toolchains provide ARM64 builds and whether their workflows depend on x86 binaries. Verify support for ARM64 container images, x86 container emulation, Linux virtual machines, Android emulators, nested virtualization, low-level debugging and proprietary SDKs. Docker, Hyper-V, VMware, VirtualBox and WSL workflows may not behave identically to their x86 counterparts.
Gaming
The integrated Adreno GPU is not a substitute for a discrete graphics card. Gaming results will depend on graphics drivers, DirectX compatibility, launcher behavior, shader compilation and anti-cheat support. Games using kernel-level anti-cheat can be especially sensitive to platform differences. CPU performance alone is not evidence that the QS1 is a good gaming PC.

Alternatives to consider
Apple Mac mini
The Mac mini is the most obvious ARM desktop comparison for buyers who prioritize mature native ARM software, quiet operation and predictable retail availability. It runs macOS rather than Windows, offers a different application ecosystem and generally does not provide user-replaceable memory.
See Apple’s Mac mini page for current configurations and pricing.
AMD Ryzen mini PCs
An AMD mini PC is a safer choice for buyers who need broad Windows x86 compatibility, Linux support, upgradeable DDR5 memory or better-established gaming support. GEEKOM’s current catalog lists AMD systems such as the A8 Max with configurations advertised around up to 64GB of memory and 2TB of storage, though exact pricing and availability change.
These systems do not provide Snapdragon’s ARM platform or Qualcomm’s NPU ecosystem, but they reduce the software-compatibility uncertainty.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Intel Core Ultra mini PCs
Intel-based mini PCs remain attractive for Windows compatibility, business manageability, broad driver support and some Thunderbolt or USB4 workflows. Performance and AI capabilities vary substantially by exact Core Ultra model, so comparisons should use the specific processor rather than the family name alone.
Other Snapdragon desktops
Buyers specifically interested in Windows on ARM can also consider newer Snapdragon X desktops from other manufacturers, provided they offer a confirmed shipping date, local warranty, transparent specifications and independent testing. GEEKOM should not automatically be described as the first shipped Snapdragon X desktop without checking the market at publication time.
Verdict
GEEKOM’s QS1/QS1 Pro is an important announcement because it shows how Snapdragon X Elite could fit into a compact desktop: a 12-core ARM processor, high memory capacity, dual storage potential, modern connectivity and dedicated AI hardware.
It is not yet a straightforward recommendation for most buyers. The product’s reported specifications contain inconsistencies, its ARM software compatibility requires careful checking, and the available evidence does not establish a verified retail price or broad shipping availability as of August 16, 2026.
