The Galaxy Z Flip7 really did fall to $899.99 in the U.S. for Cyber Monday 2025—but that deal has expired. The promotion covered the unlocked 256GB model, reportedly sold through Amazon, and did not require a trade-in. Samsung’s later indexed direct price for the same unlocked configuration was $1,099.99, so the historic discount was either $200 or roughly $300 depending on which reference price you use.

SamMobile also reported that the $899 price was available after selecting “No” in the trade-in section. Buyers could reportedly pay in full or use Samsung Financing; financing was not required to receive the advertised phone price. Taxes and shipping could still affect the final checkout total.
Was it $200 off or $300 off?
Both figures can be accurate because they use different reference prices:

Samsung’s U.S. purchase page later listed the unlocked 256GB Galaxy Z Flip7 at $1,099.99. Samsung’s December 2025 MSRP price file listed the 512GB model at $1,219.99. The $899.99 promotion therefore should not be described as a $300 discount without identifying the original launch price as the baseline.
Was a trade-in required?
No—according to SamMobile’s report, the 256GB phone could be purchased for $899 without trading in another device. A trade-in could potentially reduce the effective price further, with the report citing savings of up to $600.

That “up to” amount was conditional, not guaranteed. Actual credit would depend on the phone being traded in, its model and condition, carrier status, eligibility rules, and the promotion’s terms. It should not be combined with the $899 price as though every buyer received the maximum credit.

Samsung claims up to 31 hours of video playback on its product page. That is a manufacturer estimate under controlled conditions, not a guarantee of typical mixed-use battery life.
Why the price was compelling
- Compact design: The phone folds into a smaller, pocket-friendly shape while opening into a large 6.9-inch display.
- More useful cover screen: The 4.1-inch external display is larger than the cover screens on older Flip generations, making quick tasks easier without opening the phone.
- Stronger core hardware: The 50MP stabilized main camera, 12GB of RAM, Exynos 2500 processor, and 4,300mAh battery give the Flip7 a more substantial flagship specification sheet.
- Long support commitment: Seven years of operating-system and security updates improves the phone’s long-term ownership prospects.
- Unlocked flexibility: An unlocked U.S. unit can be more convenient for buyers who change carriers, provided the specific listing is genuinely unlocked and compatible with their network.
Reasons to hesitate before buying
The foldable design is also the phone’s biggest compromise. Its inner display and hinge introduce components that conventional slab phones do not have, and repairs can be more expensive or complicated. IP48-rated water resistance should not be interpreted as full dustproofing or unrestricted water protection, and the phone should not be called waterproof.

Samsung’s purchase page says the charger is not included in the box. The phone supports Samsung’s “Super Fast Charging,” but the available deal coverage does not verify a particular charging speed or real-world charging time. Buyers should budget for a compatible charger if they do not already own one.

Anyone who needs 512GB should not assume the same discount, while buyers who do not specifically want a flip phone may get better value from a conventional flagship with stronger battery endurance, faster charging, lower repair risk, or more versatile cameras.
Is the Galaxy Z Flip7 still worth buying?
At $899 for a new, unlocked 256GB unit, the Galaxy Z Flip7 was a compelling buy for shoppers who specifically wanted Samsung’s clamshell foldable. The combination of a compact folded design, larger cover display, flagship-grade features, and long software support made the discount meaningful.
At Samsung’s later indexed direct price of $1,099.99, the decision is less automatic. Buyers should compare current promotions, trade-in credits, newer Flip generations, and alternatives such as Motorola’s Razr line before paying close to full price. The phone’s value comes primarily from its form factor; it is not the obvious choice for someone whose priorities are maximum camera performance, battery life, charging speed, or repairability.
