Two Galaxy S25-series wallpapers surfaced online on January 8, 2025, ahead of Samsung’s January 22 launch event. The light and dark designs, shared by leaker Max Jambor, feature a large stylized “S.” They later appeared as the series’ main promotional wallpapers. You can download the image files and use them on other Android phones or an iPhone, too.
Download the Galaxy S25 wallpapers
Android Authority provides the light and dark Galaxy S25 wallpaper files on its download page. Use that page’s download controls for the original files; the images embedded in articles may be compressed previews and can look soft when enlarged on a phone display.
- Light wallpaper: Open the download page and choose the light version.
- Dark wallpaper: Choose the dark version on the same page.
No verified image dimensions or file types are available here, so check the downloaded file rather than relying on a preview or an unverified repost. If tapping a download control opens the image in your browser, use the browser’s save or download option to store it on your phone.
What leaked, and what did the designs look like?
On January 8, 2025, Max Jambor (@MaxJmb) shared two images described as official Galaxy S25-series wallpapers: one light treatment and one dark treatment. At the time, they were leaked images rather than a pre-launch announcement from Samsung. The Galaxy S25 series was announced on January 22, 2025, and the designs corresponded to the prominent wallpapers used with the phones afterward. Android Headlines reported the leak date and launch timeline, while SamMobile covered the two variants and their “S” motif.

The compositions are minimalist, built around a prominent stylized letter “S” rather than a detailed scene or photograph. That makes the central mark the main point of focus, though how much of the image remains visible depends on your screen’s shape and the crop you choose.
Are these all the Galaxy S25 wallpapers?
Not necessarily. The two images that surfaced before launch were the principal promotional or “hero” designs, not proof that the phones’ software included only two wallpaper files. Android Authority’s download coverage distinguishes the prominent designs from any additional backgrounds that could be included with the phones. Its later Samsung wallpaper coverage describes the S25 set in terms of two principal choices.

Set a Galaxy S25 wallpaper on Android
These steps were tested on a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL running Android 15, so the labels may differ on Samsung phones and other Android devices.
- Save the wallpaper file to your phone.
- Open Settings and tap Wallpaper & style.
- Tap More wallpapers, then choose My Photos.
- Select the downloaded image and adjust its position or crop.
- Tap Set Wallpaper, choose the Home screen, Lock screen, or both, and confirm with Set.
On a Galaxy phone, look in the wallpaper settings or Gallery for options such as Wallpaper and style, Change wallpapers, Gallery, Set on Home screen, or Set on Lock screen. Exact labels vary with the model and One UI and Android versions. If the “S” is cut off, zoom out or reposition the image before applying it; cropping is preferable to stretching.

Set it as wallpaper on an iPhone
The following path was tested on an iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.2. Apple may change labels or controls in later iOS versions.
- Save the image to Photos.
- Open Settings and tap Wallpaper.
- Tap Add New Wallpaper, then choose the downloaded image from Photos.
- Adjust the crop and appearance, then tap Add.
- Choose Set as Wallpaper Pair, or customize the Home Screen separately.
Get the file onto your phone without losing quality
The simplest option is to download the image directly on the device where you plan to use it. You can also transfer it with USB or a computer, or place the original file in cloud storage such as Google Drive and download it on the target phone. Messaging services may compress images; use a service’s original-file option if available, or choose another transfer method.

Fix common wallpaper problems
- The wallpaper looks blurry: You may have saved a compressed preview or a repost rather than the full-resolution file. Download the original from the download controls instead.
- The “S” is cropped: Reopen the wallpaper preview in your device’s setup screen and reduce the zoom or adjust its position. A tall display may crop the edges of an image composed for a different aspect ratio.
- The image does not fill the screen: Fit depends on the display’s aspect ratio. Adjust the crop without stretching; some launchers may also add motion or parallax effects.
- The dark wallpaper does not switch on at night: The light and dark designs are separate files, not a guaranteed automatically adaptive pair. Any scheduled change depends on your phone’s software and settings.
You can save both versions and switch between them manually. Some Samsung software versions may offer automation through a Routine or wallpaper settings; availability and controls depend on the device and installed software. On iPhone, wallpaper configurations can be associated with Focus modes where supported by the iOS version.

The wallpapers are ordinary image files, not features restricted to Galaxy S25 hardware. They can generally be selected on other Android phones and iPhones. The main differences are how each device crops the image, the available wallpaper effects, and whether its software can automate switching between the two versions.
