Future.dj Pro is a real DJ, video-mixing, and karaoke application from Xylio, but “Mac & Windows” does not guarantee that both platforms get the same version or features. The evidence available here points to a Mac 2.x app and an older Xylio announcement saying Windows users remained on 1.x while version 2 for Windows was in development. Before buying a third-party deal, confirm the exact platform, version, license, and controller support it includes. For home mixing or a video-and-karaoke setup, the software may be appealing; for paid gigs or a club-standard workflow, verify those details first.
What Future.dj Pro does
Future.dj Pro, made by Xylio, combines several jobs in one application: two-deck audio mixing, video playback and mixing, karaoke, controller-based performance, recording, and broadcasting. Its feature set also includes microphone input, headphone cueing, effects, loops, beat matching, and support for DVS/timecoded vinyl in the Pro feature set. That breadth makes it more than a basic music player, but it does not by itself establish how reliably a particular setup will work at a live event.
Xylio describes a free basic edition and paid Pro features on its product site. The details that matter most are which version runs on your computer, what your license permits, and whether your hardware is supported in that version.

The “Mac & Windows” wording should be treated as a platform label, not a promise of feature parity. Xylio’s version 2 announcement said Windows users would remain on the 1.x branch while a Windows version 2 was being developed. The Mac version 2 line is distributed through the Mac App Store; the listing in the supplied evidence identifies version 2.2.0, dated April 27, 2024, and advertises Apple Silicon support. That is a dated listing snapshot, not confirmation of the latest release available today.

Consequently, a Windows license offered alongside a Mac license may cover an older branch with a different interface or feature set. Xylio’s version 2 announcement is particularly relevant to the distinction: do not assume that every Mac 2.x feature, including its stem tools, is available in a Windows deal build. Ask the retailer or Xylio which version and operating system the code covers, and compare that answer with the version you intend to use.
Free edition, Pro subscription, and deal licenses
Xylio’s pricing page describes basic use as free and lists Pro at $49.99 per year, shown as approximately $4.16 per month when billed annually. The same page’s retrieved terms say the free license is for home or non-commercial use and may be limited to 10 minutes per session. Pricing and license language can change, so check the live terms before relying on either figure. A free tier can be useful for learning the interface or checking whether a controller is detected; it should not be assumed to cover paid performances.

A StackSocial page for Future.dj Pro for Mac & Windows is associated with a historical $24.99 deal, but that price is not verified as currently available. Nor does a deal headline establish whether its code is perpetual, subscription-based, commercial-use, upgradeable, or valid for both current Mac and Windows builds. Treat the live checkout and license terms—not an old advertised amount—as authoritative.
Before redeeming a deal, check:
- Which operating systems and exact software versions are included.
- Whether the license is perpetual or a subscription, and how many computers it covers.
- Whether paid/commercial performance is allowed.
- Whether future major-version upgrades are included.
- Where the code is redeemed, its deadline, and the seller’s refund terms.
- Whether a Mac App Store purchase and a Windows or third-party license are separate and non-transferable.
What Pro can add
Features identified for Pro on the Mac listing include AIUnmixEQ stem separation, full-screen video, support for more than 120 controllers, timecoded vinyl/DVS, audio recording and broadcasting, microphone support, and headphone previewing. Version-history entries also mention Beatport and Beatsource integration, beat-grid editing, cue points and loops (later described together as markers), loop rolls, Slicer and Loop Slicer, pitch play, key matching and sync, post-fader effects, 14-bit MIDI, and additional controller support. Feature availability can vary by platform and release; consult the listing or release notes for the specific build you will use.

AI separation is not the same as prepared stems
AIUnmixEQ is described by Xylio as real-time separation of a playing track into vocals, instruments, and drums. That differs from playing an industry-standard .stem.mp4 file, which contains four pre-separated parts: drums, bass, sounds/melody, and voice/lead. Separating a finished stereo mix in real time can produce artifacts, especially with dense, distorted, live, or unusual material, and it can add processor load. Pre-separated files are a different source format and may be more predictable, but they must already be available to you. Xylio recommends Apple Silicon for performance of its AI features; verify system requirements for your machine before relying on them.
Controllers, headphones, and audio setup
Xylio advertises support for 120-plus controllers, while some listing snapshots use a higher count. A large supported-device number is not a guarantee that every model works plug-and-play on every operating system. The Mac version history names examples such as the RANE Four, Pioneer DDJ-FLX4, DDJ-FLX6, DDJ-400, DDJ-800, DDJ-1000, DDJ-1000SRT and DDJ-REV1, plus several Hercules DJControl models. Confirm your exact model, operating system, and software branch in Xylio’s compatibility information before purchase; do not infer Windows support from a Mac release note.

Independent headphone cueing generally needs a separate cue output as well as the master output. A laptop’s single stereo output may not provide both. The official manual recommends a single multichannel audio device over two separate devices, which can cause synchronization problems. On Windows, the manual also discusses WASAPI as an audio option. If cueing fails, check that the correct audio device is selected, that the controller or interface exposes multiple outputs, and that the cue mix and headphone level are set correctly. Microphone, recording, external mixer, and booth routing also depend on the actual inputs and outputs available in your setup.
For a first setup, install the manufacturer’s current controller driver or firmware if required, connect the device directly with a known-good cable, select the intended MIDI and audio devices in Future.dj Pro, then test master output and headphones separately. Close other DJ applications while diagnosing detection or mapping problems. If native mapping is unavailable, investigate MIDI mapping only after confirming the build and device support.

Video, karaoke, and music sources
Video and karaoke are among Future.dj Pro’s practical differentiators: the feature set includes full-screen video, karaoke functions such as lyrics and singer searches, and microphone input. Video playback, AI separation, and multiple outputs can demand more from a computer than ordinary audio mixing, so test the actual files and display setup before a performance. The software does not supply rights to karaoke tracks, music videos, or commercial music; you need suitable content and any permissions or licenses required for your use and location.
The Mac release history identifies Beatport and Beatsource integration. Integration is not universal streaming access: a service may require its own account or paid plan, and protected or cloud-based tracks can have playback restrictions even if artwork or library information appears. Locally stored or purchased files are also subject to their own usage terms. Confirm that the precise service, account tier, and file type you rely on work in your version.
Who should consider it—and who should look elsewhere
- Worth considering: beginners and home DJs who want to learn; mobile or wedding DJs who value audio plus video; karaoke hosts who want mixing and microphone tools together; or budget-conscious users whose exact controller and operating system are confirmed.
- Consider carefully: paid performers evaluating the free tier, buyers of a third-party license, and anyone depending on a specific controller, routing configuration, streaming service, or AI stem feature. Test the entire workflow before a gig.
- Likely a poor fit: DJs who need a clearly documented, current Mac/Windows feature match; teams needing dependable cross-platform library synchronization; or club DJs whose preparation relies on Pioneer/AlphaTheta USB export and established player workflows.
Future.dj Pro’s feature breadth and relatively low listed annual price can make it attractive, but a broad feature list is not the same as a mature ecosystem, extensive training resources, or guaranteed hardware support. Its Windows branch uncertainty is more consequential than the headline deal price for anyone planning a live setup.

- Serato DJ Pro: consider it if established controller and performance workflows matter more than minimizing cost. Serato’s own pricing page is the place to verify current purchase and subscription options; prices can change.
- rekordbox: a natural comparison for Pioneer/AlphaTheta users, especially those preparing USB media for compatible club players. Check the current plan page and confirm the export workflow and hardware requirements for your setup.
- VirtualDJ: worth comparing when video, karaoke, and broad hardware flexibility are central. Consult its licensing page for current plans and terms.
- Mixxx: consider this free, open-source desktop option if avoiding paid software is the main priority. Check its official project resources for current compatibility and supported hardware.
- djay Pro: may suit users seeking an Apple-focused or cross-device workflow; compare the current platform, feature, and pricing details for the edition you intend to use.
These products serve different workflows, so compare the controller and library workflow you actually need, not just the feature count or price. In particular, rekordbox’s club-export use, Serato’s hardware ecosystem, and VirtualDJ’s video and karaoke emphasis may matter more than whether another program lists a lower entry price.
Practical pre-purchase and pre-gig checklist
- Identify your computer’s operating system and the Future.dj Pro version the seller supplies.
- Confirm the controller and audio interface are supported on that exact platform/build.
- Read the license for commercial use, device count, term, upgrade rights, redemption deadline, and refund conditions.
- Set up one multichannel audio device where possible; verify master output and headphone cue independently.
- Test microphone and video routing, and try the actual karaoke or video files you plan to use.
- Analyze and test your music library and any Beatport/Beatsource account or protected tracks before the event.
- Record a short test mix if recording matters, then rehearse the complete set with a backup playback plan.
Software does not replace legally obtained music or any public-performance, karaoke-content, recording, or broadcast permissions applicable to your location and use. Requirements vary by jurisdiction.
