The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup was FIFA’s first expanded 32-team edition. It was played in the United States from June 14 through July 13, 2025, across 12 stadiums, with 63 matches involving clubs from all six continental confederations. The tournament is now complete: the final was held at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on July 13, 2025.

What was the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?
The 2025 event was the first 32-club version of FIFA’s global championship. It replaced the previous annual seven-team Club World Cup format for this edition and was designed as a four-year tournament. Clubs qualified from the six confederations: AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA.

It should not be confused with FIFA’s separate annual Intercontinental Cup, the UEFA Champions League or the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The expanded Club World Cup was a standalone club competition staged in the United States.
Qualified teams: the final 32-club field
Qualification combined continental champions, a confederation ranking route, country limits and host representation. UEFA and CONMEBOL received the largest allocations because of the depth of their continental club competitions. FIFA’s country-limit rules meant qualification was not simply a list of the highest-ranked clubs from every domestic league.

Why LAFC replaced Club León
Club León was initially associated with a qualification place but was removed after FIFA’s multi-club ownership ruling. Los Angeles FC then defeated Club América in a play-in match on May 31, 2025, claiming the final berth. Therefore, Club León should not appear in the final 32-team tournament list.

Groups and draw
The draw took place on December 5, 2024. Each group contained four clubs, with teams playing a single round robin.

Format explained
The competition path was:
32 teams → eight groups → 16-team round of 16 → quarter-finals → semi-finals → final
- Eight groups of four clubs.
- Every club played three group matches.
- Group wins were worth three points, draws one and losses zero.
- The top two clubs in each group advanced.
- The round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final were single-match knockout rounds.
- There was no third-place playoff.
The tournament consisted of 48 group-stage matches and 15 knockout matches: eight round-of-16 games, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final. That produced 63 matches in total. A champion had to play seven matches from the group stage through the final.
A knockout match level after 90 minutes went to extra time and, if still necessary, a penalty shootout. Group tiebreakers were governed by FIFA’s competition regulations rather than an informal generic rule. FIFA also said the schedule was intended to protect at least three days of rest between matches, while accounting for travel and broadcast requirements.

- Opening match: Inter Miami vs. Al Ahly at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on June 14, 2025.
- Group stage: The opening phase of the tournament.
- Knockout rounds: Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals followed the groups.
- Final: MetLife Stadium in the New York/New Jersey host area on July 13, 2025.
Because the event ended in 2025, references to watching it “live” now are historical unless a broadcaster has separately listed an archived replay.
Host stadiums and areas
FIFA used 12 venues across 11 host areas. Orlando had two stadiums, so the number of venues is higher than the number of host areas. “New York/New Jersey” refers to the host area; MetLife Stadium is in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Hard Rock Stadium hosted the opener. MetLife Stadium hosted the final, both semi-finals and a quarter-final. The venue names above preserve FIFA’s tournament-era naming; commercial names can change later. The complete official list is on FIFA’s stadiums page.

Original live coverage
During the tournament, FIFA announced DAZN as the exclusive global broadcaster and promoted matches as live and free to view through DAZN.com and the DAZN app. Account registration, territory restrictions and local rights arrangements could still affect access.

Finding replays and highlights in 2026
The tournament ended on July 13, 2025, so the original live offer is no longer a promise of current access. Check DAZN’s event page or on-demand catalogue in your country for any surviving full-match replays. FIFA’s official website, FIFA+ and FIFA video channels are useful places to look for highlights, clips, results and archive material.
- Create or sign in to a DAZN account.
- Open DAZN.com or the DAZN app.
- Search for “FIFA Club World Cup.”
- Select an available replay or highlight.
- If nothing appears, confirm your country and check FIFA’s official video pages.
Replay rights can expire, differ by country or move to a local rights holder. Do not assume every full match remains available everywhere, and do not treat a VPN as a guaranteed or rights-compliant workaround.
Tickets and hospitality
Original ticket sales are closed because the competition has finished. FIFA’s first general-public sales phase opened on December 19, 2024, with Category 4 tickets advertised from US$30 before taxes and fees; prices varied by match. That historical price should not be read as a current opportunity to buy admission.
Official hospitality was a separate premium product offering packages and upgraded services. It was not the same as ordinary match admission. Avoid unofficial resale links unless independently verified.

- Club León was not in the final field: LAFC won the play-in against Club América after León’s removal.
- There were 63 matches: 48 group games plus 15 knockout games.
- There was no third-place match.
- There were 12 venues but 11 host areas: Orlando used two stadiums.
- “Free on DAZN” was time- and territory-specific: it described FIFA’s 2025 live arrangement, not a permanent replay guarantee.
- The tournament was not the annual Intercontinental Cup: those are separate FIFA competitions.

Why was Club León replaced?
FIFA removed León after a multi-club ownership ruling. Los Angeles FC defeated Club América in a May 31, 2025 play-in to take the place.
