June 2024’s U.S. Disney+ movie schedule was relatively small but varied: it included one animated family movie, three documentary features or specials, the library film Beaches, and a separate batch of Donald Duck shorts. Disney’s published schedules also included Hulu titles inside the Disney+ experience, so those are listed separately below.
This is a retrospective of the U.S. schedule announced for June 2024. Disney notes that availability can differ by country and may change over time. See Disney’s official June 2024 Disney+ schedule and D23’s June overview for the original listings.

What counts as a movie here?
Disney’s monthly announcements combine feature films, documentaries, short films, specials, series and individual episodes. To keep the list useful, the main schedule below includes feature films, made-for-streaming movies, documentary films and substantial documentary specials.

Movies and documentary films on Disney+ in June 2024

June 1: For the First Time in Forever: The Making of World of Frozen
D23 listed this behind-the-scenes documentary special for June 1. It examines the creation of World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland. It is best understood as theme-park and production documentary programming, not as a conventional narrative feature film.
The June 1 listing appears in D23’s overview, while Disney’s main monthly press listing began its dated movie schedule later in the month. That difference is why this title is included here with a documentary label.
June 7: Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation
This was June’s clearest conventional movie premiere. The animated family film sends the Green family into space after Cricket volunteers them for an experimental farming mission. It is connected to the Big City Greens television franchise and was promoted as a Disney Channel and Disney+ movie, not as a theatrical release.

Disney’s weekly update for the week of June 7 confirmed that the movie was streaming. For families looking for the most straightforward movie night option in the June lineup, this was the obvious first choice. Sources: Disney’s June schedule and Disney’s June 7 update.
June 8: Protecting Paradise: The Story of Niue
This National Geographic documentary follows Pristine Seas’ return to Niue, including research into the island’s marine reserve and its effect on ocean conservation. It is a documentary feature or special rather than a scripted movie.
Disney listed it for June 8, and its weekly coverage described the conservation-focused production. Sources: Disney’s monthly listing and Disney’s June coverage.
June 18: Clotilda: The Return Home
This National Geographic documentary follows descendants and researchers connected to the Clotilda and their effort to reconnect with ancestral history. Disney’s listing describes the ship as the last known slave ship to bring enslaved Africans to the United States.

Late June: Beaches
Beaches is the month’s library feature film, but the published date is inconsistent. D23’s schedule lists June 26, while Disney’s broader Disney+ press listing says June 28.
The available Disney-owned pages do not explain whether this reflects a schedule update, a regional distinction or an editorial correction. The safest description is that Beaches was announced for late June, with June 26 and June 28 both appearing in official Disney listings.

Disney’s June schedule also listed three Donald Duck titles for June 9:
- Crazy Over Daisy
- Out on a Limb
- DIY Duck
These were part of Donald Duck anniversary programming. They are short films or short-form programs, not three additional feature movies, so they should not be counted in the main movie total.
Hulu movies available through the Disney+ experience
Disney’s weekly “Now on Disney+” pages separated Hulu content from the regular Disney+ additions. For U.S. subscribers using the Disney+ experience, the June movie and special listings included:
- The Real Red Tails
- Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
- Prayers for Bobby
- Perfect Days
- Origin
- Brats
These should not be described as Disney+ originals or as ordinary additions to the core Disney+ catalog. Disney noted that additional Hulu content could require valid Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions or use of the Hulu app. The exact viewing experience depended on the subscriber’s plan and the title’s availability. The biggest movie premiere
Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation was the month’s main movie event for most Disney+ viewers. Unlike the other core entries, it was a new animated family movie rather than a documentary, behind-the-scenes special or library acquisition. Its connection to an established Disney Channel series also made it the most obvious pick for children and families already familiar with the Green family.
Are these dates still accurate?
June 2024 has passed, so these are historical release listings rather than upcoming dates. The schedule was for the United States, and Disney warned that catalog availability could vary by region. Titles can also leave a service or become unavailable under a particular subscription arrangement after their original release window.
