Logi Options+ is Logitech’s current customization app and the recommended download for supported mice, keyboards, webcams, presentation remotes, lights, touchpads, and the MX Creative Console. Download it from Logitech’s official Options+ setup page—not from a third-party mirror.
The older Logitech Options application may still be necessary for certain older devices or operating systems. Check compatibility before replacing an existing installation.

Options+ combines many Logitech Options capabilities with a redesigned interface, but the two applications are not interchangeable. A Logitech product can work as a basic mouse or keyboard while still lacking Options+ support for remapping, gestures, Flow, profiles, or firmware features.
Download Logi Options+ from Logitech
- Open Logitech’s official general setup page. MX users can also use the official MX setup page.
- Select Download for Windows or Download for macOS, matching the computer you are using.
- Before installing, check Logitech’s compatibility information for your exact device. Do not assume every Logitech product works with Options+.
- Avoid unofficial download sites, which may provide outdated installers or repackaged software.
Install Options+ on Windows
Logitech’s installer requires administrator rights because it installs drivers and virtual-device components.

- Download the Windows installer from Logitech.
- Run the downloaded file and approve the Windows security or administrator prompt.
- Complete the setup wizard.
- Connect the device by Bluetooth, USB, or its compatible Logitech receiver.
- Open Options+ and confirm that the device appears.
- Enable any requested background components, then configure buttons, keys, gestures, profiles, Flow, or available firmware updates.
For version requirements, Logitech’s support documentation says current Options+ releases require Windows 10 version 1903 or later. Windows 10 version 1809 or earlier requires Options+ version 1.44; builds below 1809 are outside the current support path described by Logitech. See the Windows compatibility guidance.
Install Options+ on macOS
- Download the macOS installer from Logitech’s official setup page.
- Open the installer from your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.
- Connect the device through Bluetooth, USB, or a compatible receiver.
- Approve the macOS permissions requested by Options+.
- If macOS asks you to quit and reopen Options+, relaunch the app.
- Confirm that the device appears, then configure its available features.

Depending on the device and feature, Options+ may request permissions under System Settings → Privacy & Security and System Settings → General → Login Items:
- Accessibility: System-level actions such as scrolling, gestures, volume, zoom, and back/forward controls.
- Input Monitoring: Device button and key actions.
- Bluetooth: Detection of Bluetooth devices and some Flow behavior.
- USB Accessories: A receiver connected through USB-C or Thunderbolt.
- Login Items: Background processes required for detection and customization.
- Screen & System Audio Recording: Presentation features such as Start Presentation, Timer, or Magnify. Logitech says screen-recording data is not stored for that purpose.
Permission names and prompts can vary by macOS release and feature. On macOS Ventura or later, allow a receiver when macOS asks whether to permit the accessory.

Which Logitech devices work with Options+?
Logitech presents Options+ for supported:
- Mice and keyboards
- Lights
- Webcams
- Touchpads
- Presentation remotes
- MX Creative Console
Support is model-specific. Check the product’s Logitech documentation before installing. A device may provide basic input through the operating system even when Options+ cannot customize it. In that situation, remapping, gestures, profiles, Flow, and Logitech firmware management may be unavailable.

Options+ supports Intel-based Macs and Apple Silicon Macs, including M1 and newer systems, but individual Logitech plug-ins, utilities, and older applications may have different compatibility or Rosetta requirements. Logitech’s Mac compatibility information is the appropriate reference for those cases.
Older computers and legacy Logitech Options
Use legacy Logitech Options only when your device or operating system is not supported by Options+. Logitech’s archived and offline-installer documentation may provide an older compatible build, but availability is not guaranteed for every historical version.
Relevant examples include:
- Older Windows 10: Windows 10 version 1809 or earlier requires Options+ version 1.44 rather than current releases, according to Logitech.
- macOS Catalina 10.15: Logitech’s offline-installer notes say Options+ updates stopped after version 1.44, although a compatible version may still be downloadable.
- Older macOS releases: The required version can change by release. Logitech’s general download pages and release notes currently show different macOS minimums, so rely on the release notes for the specific version you intend to install.
As of the release information located August 16, 2026, Logitech listed Options+ version 2.1.854976 for macOS and 2.1.854977 for Windows, released March 23, 2026. The macOS release notes listed macOS 14, 15, and 26 and indicated that Ventura support had been dropped. Versions can change, so treat this as dated release information rather than a permanent requirement.
Do not remove legacy Logitech Options automatically if another older device depends on it. Installing both applications without checking compatibility can make it unclear which app controls a device.

Fix Options+ when it does not detect your device
- Confirm that the exact device is supported by Options+.
- Check the Bluetooth connection, USB cable, or receiver.
- Plug the receiver directly into the computer instead of an unreliable hub.
- Turn the device off and on.
- Quit and reopen Options+.
- Restart the computer.
- On macOS, review Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Bluetooth, USB Accessories, and Login Items permissions.
- If macOS requested approval for a receiver, make sure you selected Allow.
- Check Options+ for an available firmware update.
- For Bluetooth devices, remove the device from Bluetooth settings and pair it again.
If the device works as a basic mouse or keyboard but does not appear in Options+, that usually indicates a software compatibility, permission, connection, or device-support issue—not necessarily a hardware failure.
Fix the Mac loading-screen problem
Logitech has documented an Options+ loading problem affecting some Macs, including systems running macOS 26.2, and provides an updated patch installer through its current troubleshooting article.
- Open Logitech’s troubleshooting article.
- Download the updated patch installer from that page.
- Double-click it and allow the installation to finish.
- Launch Options+ again.
Logitech says this recovery should preserve settings, devices, and customizations. Also check that Options+ background items are enabled in System Settings → General → Login Items; disabled background processes can prevent loading or customization.

If installation fails because you are a standard user, ask the computer administrator or IT department to install Options+. Logitech’s installer needs elevated rights for drivers and virtual-device components. Do not use a random repackaged installer to bypass company controls.

Internet access is required to download and install Options+. After installation, many device-customization tasks are performed locally. However, internet access may be needed for firmware updates, new-device support, cloud backup, Marketplace content, Smart Actions restoration, or services used by Flow.
Do not assume that a Logitech account is universally mandatory for every Options+ use case. Account requirements can depend on the feature and the current installer or service configuration.

Logitech says several older utilities, including the separate Firmware Update Tool, are no longer maintained. Use Options+ for firmware updates when your supported device exposes that function there. This does not mean every Logitech device can be updated through Options+.

Linux and ChromeOS
Some Logitech devices can provide basic connectivity on Linux or ChromeOS, but Options+ is presented as a Windows/macOS customization application. Do not expect full Options+ features on those platforms unless Logitech specifically documents support for your device and operating system.

Logitech uses Accessibility access for system-level device actions such as scrolling, gestures, volume, zoom, and back/forward controls. The exact permissions depend on the device and feature.
Can I download an older Options+ version?
Older compatible releases may be available through Logitech’s support or offline-installer pages, but Logitech does not guarantee that every historical version remains downloadable.
