DataDeck and Pixeldrain are not direct competitors. DataDeck is for turning business data into dashboards and reports; Pixeldrain is for uploading, storing, and sharing files. Choose based on the result you need: business insight or a file link.

Quick verdict

What you need Better fit Why
Marketing or KPI dashboards DataDeck Connects business data sources and presents metrics in dashboards, reports, and alerts.
A link for a large file or download Pixeldrain Built for file uploads, sharing, downloads, and media embedding.
Collaborative document editing Neither is the obvious first choice Neither product is positioned as a general-purpose team document workspace.
Dependable backup or governed enterprise analytics Neither without further validation Pixeldrain advises keeping independent backups; DataDeck’s enterprise governance capabilities are not established by its published feature summary.

For a dashboard, start with DataDeck. For a file-sharing workflow, start with Pixeldrain.

What DataDeck does

DataDeck is a business analytics and dashboarding platform. Its workflow is to connect business sources, build visualizations, bring metrics together, and share reports with a team. DataDeck says it supports more than 100 data sources; its catalog includes examples such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, spreadsheets, Salesforce, Stripe, BigQuery, Amazon S3, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle. The number is DataDeck’s claim, and connector depth and availability can vary. See its data-source catalog.

Typical workflow

  1. Connect a supported source, such as an analytics platform, spreadsheet, or database.
  2. Start from a template or create a dashboard with cards and visualizations.
  3. Apply filters, set goals, or blend data when a view needs information from multiple sources.
  4. Share the dashboard with colleagues and configure alerts or notifications where useful.

DataDeck lists dashboards, goal tracking, data blending, collaboration, automated updates, and alerts among its features. It markets real-time access, but that should not be read as a guarantee of continuous refresh for every connector: confirm the refresh schedule, source permissions, and API limits for the particular data source. Some advanced work, including complex data use, may require developer help, according to DataDeck’s pricing page.

DataDeck is not a general file host, public download service, backup platform, CDN, or replacement for a data warehouse. For sources without a native connection, DataDeck’s help material describes a Supermetrics-through-Google-Sheets route; treat that as a workaround rather than assuming every source has an equivalent native integration: DataDeck’s Supermetrics guidance.

What Pixeldrain does

Pixeldrain focuses on uploading, storing, and distributing files. Typical jobs include sharing a large archive, publishing a downloadable dataset, sending a video, or embedding media. Its product information also lists rclone and FTPS support for file workflows. The service is not a business-intelligence tool: uploading a CSV or JSON file does not provide the data connectors, metric modeling, visualizations, KPI tracking, or reporting workflow that DataDeck is built around.

Free sharing has limits

Pixeldrain’s current plan information lists a 10 GB maximum file size for free uploads and a 6 GB daily transfer allowance. Free use also has a maximum of three concurrent downloads; speeds may be reduced after the allowance is exceeded. Free accounts do not get hotlinking or file embedding under the current plan table. Check the live Pixeldrain plan information before relying on a limit, since plan terms can change.

The download allowance is not a midnight reset: Pixeldrain describes a sliding previous-24-hour window tied to IP address. People behind the same corporate network, VPN exit, or carrier-grade NAT may share an IP-based allowance. For premium accounts, downloads from files in the account can count toward its transfer limit, so a popular shared file can use the owner’s allowance. See Pixeldrain’s service information.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Free regular uploads are not dependable long-term storage. Pixeldrain’s documentation says files may be removed after 60 days without qualifying access. A download resets the timer only if more than 10% of the file is downloaded in a single request, and the timer is not updated more than once in 24 hours. Details are in the Pixeldrain FAQ.

Paid sharing and storage

The current Pixeldrain product page lists Pro at €4 per month or €40 per year before taxes, with a 100 GB maximum file size, a 4 TB transfer limit per 30 days, no concurrent-connection limit, file embedding, and customizable download pages. It also lists higher tiers, but names and limits may change. Pro should not be described as unlimited bandwidth: its transfer allowance still matters, and shared-file downloads may count against it. Subscription payment and tax charges can add to the listed price. Verify current terms at Pixeldrain and its account information.

Pixeldrain also lists prepaid storage at €4 per TB per month and prepaid transfer at €1 per TB; a minimum daily charge of €0.01 applies when daily usage would otherwise be lower. Its filesystem documentation states a 2 TB limit for Pro filesystem storage, while prepaid filesystem storage is charged by usage. Those rates and limits describe different components, so check the current plan details before estimating a workload.

Filesystem caveats

The filesystem is described as experimental and in development, and Pixeldrain explicitly recommends keeping backups. Documented limits include 100 GB per file, 10,000 files per directory, names up to 255 bytes, paths up to 4,095 bytes, and a maximum depth of 64 nested directories; hard and symbolic links are not supported. See the filesystem documentation. Low storage cost does not by itself make this a suitable business-critical backup or disaster-recovery system.

DataDeck vs Pixeldrain by task

Task DataDeck Pixeldrain
Marketing reporting Designed for dashboards and reports across business data sources. Can store or share exported files, but does not provide the reporting workflow.
KPI tracking and alerts Supports goals, metrics, and alerts. No comparable business dashboard function is documented.
Combining business sources Supports data blending and connections to business platforms and databases. Not a comparable analytics connector or blending tool.
Large public download Not its primary purpose. Core use case; account and plan transfer limits apply.
Media embedding Not its primary purpose. Available on paid plans listed by Pixeldrain.
Long-term file retention Not a file-storage purpose. Free regular uploads may expire; filesystem documentation calls the feature experimental and recommends independent backups.
Team collaboration Share business dashboards and insights. Share files and links; not a collaborative document-editing workspace.

How their pricing compares

The prices are not a like-for-like comparison: DataDeck charges for analytics users and feature tiers, while Pixeldrain’s costs relate to file sharing, transfer, subscriptions, or storage.

For DataDeck, estimate the number of users, connections, and required features. For Pixeldrain, estimate stored volume and actual downloads: distribution traffic can make transfer limits more important than the storage rate.

Which one fits common scenarios?

You need marketing or sales performance reports

Choose DataDeck if your sources are supported and the desired output is a shared dashboard, blended report, KPI view, or alert. Check the exact connector and refresh behavior before committing, especially for less common sources.

You need to send a large video, archive, or dataset

Choose Pixeldrain for a shareable file link or download workflow. Match the file size to the plan and consider how many people may download it; the uploader’s transfer allowance can matter when a file attracts traffic.

You want to publish or embed media

Pixeldrain is the relevant product category, but the current plan information limits embedding to paid plans. If the media is popular, account for the transfer allowance and hotlink rules.

WD 2TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive for Windows, USB 3.2 Gen 1/USB 3.0 for PC & Mac, Plug and Play Ready - WDBU6Y0020BBK-WESN
  • High capacity in a small enclosure – The small, lightweight design offers up to 6TB* capacity, making WD Elements portable hard drives the ideal companion for consumers on the go.
  • Plug-and-play expandability
  • Vast capacities up to 6TB[1] to store your photos, videos, music, important documents and more
  • SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps)

You want to keep an archive or backup

Do not treat Pixeldrain’s free sharing tier as archival storage: qualifying inactivity can lead to deletion. The filesystem is experimental and its own documentation advises independent backups. For important business data, evaluate a dedicated backup or object-storage service against retention, recovery, and access-control needs.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Your team needs shared files and editing

Neither product is the natural fit for collaborative document creation and file management. Evaluate a cloud-drive or document-workspace category instead, and compare its sharing controls, version history, retention, and access policies with your needs.

You need enterprise analytics governance

DataDeck may serve dashboarding needs, but do not infer advanced governance, row-level security, audit history, or identity administration from a connector list or feature page. Validate those requirements directly; if they are central, include BI platforms built for your governance needs in the shortlist.

Alternatives when neither fits

For analytics

Consider evaluating Looker Studio, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Metabase. They are category alternatives, not interchangeable recommendations: check current connectors, deployment options, pricing, governance, and the reporting capabilities your team actually needs.

For file sharing, storage, or backup

Depending on the workload, evaluate Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Backblaze B2, or Amazon S3. Compare collaboration, retention, access control, public delivery, backup and recovery, and billing rather than assuming all cloud storage products work alike.
