Quick verdict: which 2025 deal stood out?
Using the listed hardware and reported sale prices—not unverified benchmark claims—the Lenovo LOQ with an RTX 5050 for $649.99 was the strongest budget value when its advertised 16GB configuration was available. PCWorld also identified the LOQ as a leading performance-per-dollar pick. For a sub-$600 purchase, the Acer Nitro V RTX 4050 at $579.99 was more convincing than the $555 HP Victus RTX 2050, provided its 8GB memory could be upgraded.
At about $1,100, the Alienware 16 Aurora RTX 5060 paired a 2,560×1,600 display with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. The ROG Strix G16 RTX 5060 at $1,199.99 was the alternative for buyers prioritizing a conventional performance-oriented 16-inch design. The MSI Katana 15 HX RTX 5070 delivered the highest GPU tier per dollar, but its chassis and display compromises required closer inspection.

Best Cyber Monday gaming-laptop deals by budget
Under $600: choose the RTX 4050 if you can upgrade memory
The Acer Nitro V listing combined a Core i5-13420H, RTX 4050, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD for a reported $579.99 at Amazon, advertised as $170 off. RTX 4050 is a sensible entry point for 1080p gaming, but 8GB can cause stutter in newer titles and leaves little headroom for background applications. Confirm that the Nitro’s memory is replaceable and price the upgrade before checkout.
The HP Victus configuration—Ryzen 5 7535HS, RTX 2050, 8GB/512GB—was listed at $555, a reported $55 saving. It was the cheapest acceptable option, not the best long-term value: RTX 2050 belongs to the lowest tier and should be considered for lighter games or reduced settings. If an RTX 4050 machine is only a small premium, the Victus becomes difficult to justify.
Under $700: Lenovo LOQ RTX 5050
The LOQ’s reported $649.99 Best Buy price (advertised as $450 off) included a Core i5-13450HX, RTX 5050, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. That combination explains why it led the budget-value rankings. Verify the exact display, GPU power limit, battery and retailer-specific part number: LOQ names cover materially different configurations. A 512GB drive can fill quickly, so check whether a second SSD slot is available.

$700–$1,200: decide between GPU balance, screen and portability
The Asus TUF F16 at $749.99 (Core 5 210H, RTX 4050, 16GB/512GB; $350 reported saving) offered a 16-inch format and adequate memory, but its RTX 4050 sits below the LOQ’s RTX 5050. It makes sense when the TUF chassis, keyboard or upgrade layout is preferred and the price gap is real.

At $1,099.98, the Alienware 16 Aurora supplied an RTX 5060, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage and a 2,560×1,600 panel. That resolution improves workspace and image sharpness, yet demanding games may need upscaling or reduced settings. Verify the panel’s refresh rate and the machine’s sustained noise and power behavior from current reviews; the deal listing alone does not establish them.
HP’s Omen Transcend 14 was reported at $1,149.99, a $650 reduction, with a Core Ultra 7 255H, RTX 5050, OLED display, 16GB and 1TB. The large dollar discount is real as an advertised figure, but it is not automatically the best gaming bargain. OLED contrast and portability are its attractions; an RTX 5050 is comparatively modest for driving a high-resolution panel, so match the machine to your games rather than the screen specification.

The ROG Strix G16 (2025) cost a reported $1,199.99 with a Core i7-14650HX, RTX 5060, 16GB and 1TB. It is the straightforward choice when CPU/GPU performance matters more than carrying weight. Its larger gaming design is less travel-friendly than a Zephyrus.
$1,200 and above: premium, compact or maximum GPU
GamesRadar reported the RTX 5060 ROG Zephyrus G14 at $1,299, $500 off at Best Buy. Check whether the particular unit has soldered or expandable memory, which display variant is included, and what battery life to expect; “G14” is a family name, not one fixed specification.

For buyers who explicitly wanted top-end performance, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i with Core Ultra 9 275HX, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB and 1TB was reported at $1,899, $400.99 off on Amazon. The premium over an RTX 5060 system is substantial; it is justified by the need for higher refresh rates or demanding games, not by the discount percentage alone. How to compare the GPUs
- RTX 2050: lowest-cost tier for lighter games and reduced settings.
- RTX 4050: entry-level modern gaming, generally a 1080p target.
- RTX 5050: newer budget tier that is attractive below $700, with performance governed by the laptop’s power limit.
- RTX 5060: stronger mainstream choice for 1080p and many 1600p configurations.
- RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti: more headroom for high-refresh or high-resolution play, provided the chassis can sustain their power.
There is no universal laptop-GPU speed ranking independent of wattage, cooling, CPU limits and game settings. Treat these as tiers, then compare the complete laptop.

Memory and storage
Prefer 16GB RAM in a new gaming laptop. Treat 8GB as an immediate potential cost and confirm whether modules are replaceable rather than soldered. A 512GB SSD may hold only a few large games; check for a second slot or an accessible replacement drive.

Display and rendering load
Resolution, refresh rate, response time, brightness and color coverage matter as much as panel type. A 2,560×1,600 or OLED screen looks better, but it also asks more of the GPU. Features such as a MUX switch or Advanced Optimus can affect how the discrete GPU drives the display; verify them in the exact model specification.
Power, cooling and portability
Look for the GPU’s TGP, sustained CPU behavior, fan noise, battery capacity, USB-C charging, weight and power-brick size. Advertised processor and GPU names do not reveal these characteristics. Webcam quality, keyboard layout, RGB controls and the warranty are practical differences between otherwise similar listings.
Why a big “off” number can mislead
The Omen Transcend’s reported $650 reduction was the largest dollar saving in the list, while the LOQ’s $450 figure produced a lower final price and 16GB memory. “Was” prices may be manufacturer list prices rather than a model’s normal street price. Compare the final configuration—not the percentage—with recent prices, and account for upgrade costs, display quality and storage. Coverage from Windows Central, WIRED and Forbes also illustrates how retailer and premium-model selections differed.
Deals and listings to approach cautiously
- 8GB systems whose memory cannot be upgraded or whose upgrade price erases the saving.
- RTX 2050 laptops priced close to RTX 4050 alternatives.
- High-resolution or OLED panels paired with a modest GPU when gaming performance is the priority.
- “Up to” savings without a precise model number and complete specification.
- Marketplace offers with an unidentified seller, unclear warranty or refurbished status.
- Retailer-exclusive variants that share a family name but differ in RAM, panel, TGP or storage.
Cyber Monday purchase checklist
- Copy the exact model or part number from the listing.
- Confirm GPU model and TGP, CPU, RAM type and capacity, SSD size and available expansion slots.
- Record panel resolution, refresh rate, response time and whether MUX or Advanced Optimus is included.
- Check new, refurbished or open-box status, seller identity, warranty provider, return period and dead-pixel policy.
- Verify whether membership, coupon, financing or a credit card is required for the shown price.
- Check stock, shipping date, keyboard layout and included accessories at checkout.
- Save a screenshot of the configuration, advertised saving and promised delivery date; compare the price with recent street prices.
