Corsair Utility Engine (CUE) is the older name associated with Corsair’s device-control software. For most current Corsair keyboards, mice, headsets, coolers, RAM kits, controllers, and gaming PCs, download CORSAIR iCUE from Corsair’s official Downloads page.
Use Corsair’s legacy iCUE downloads page only when your exact product is listed as requiring an older software branch. Avoid third-party mirrors and repackaged installers.
Official Corsair iCUE download
Open Corsair’s official Downloads page on your Windows PC or Mac, then choose the iCUE installer for your operating system. Corsair also provides drivers and firmware on that page.

- Select the iCUE download for Windows or macOS.
- Run the installer downloaded from Corsair.
- Follow the setup prompts and click Finish.
- Restart the computer before testing the device.
Do not use forum attachments, file-sharing links, modified installers, or download portals that bundle unrelated software. Corsair’s official page is the appropriate authority for the current release; dated third-party version listings should not be treated as proof of the latest version.

CUE versus iCUE

Do not assume that every older CUE device will work perfectly with the newest iCUE release. Check the exact model in Corsair Support or on the legacy download page. Corsair lists iCUE 3.38.88 for Legacy Devices, along with older iCUE 4 releases, but availability and compatibility can change.
What iCUE can control
iCUE can configure supported Corsair peripherals and gaming-PC components. Depending on the model, it may provide:
- RGB lighting and lighting effects
- Keyboard key assignments, macros, and remaps
- Mouse performance settings
- Headset and other audio controls
- Device profiles and onboard profiles
- Cooling, fan, and system controls
- Firmware updates for supported devices
Features vary by product. A keyboard, headset, RAM kit, and cooler will not expose the same controls, and some features require a direct connection or particular hardware configuration.

System requirements
Corsair’s compatibility page, checked on August 18, 2026, lists these requirements. Recheck the official requirements page before installing because operating-system support can change.
Windows
- Windows 10 64-bit or newer
- 1.5 GB of available hard-drive space
- Recommended Intel chipset: Z170 or newer for dual-channel systems
- Recommended Intel chipset: X99 or newer for quad-channel systems
- Recommended AMD socket: FM3+/AM4 or newer
macOS
- Mac from 2015 or newer
- macOS 12.7 or newer
- 500 MB of available hard-drive space
Linux is not officially supported. iCUE cannot be installed directly on a game console; Corsair requires a supported Windows PC or Mac. Corsair also says it cannot advise on third-party software for controlling iCUE-integrated devices under Linux.
Which iCUE version should you install?

Do not install multiple Corsair software branches together without checking Corsair’s guidance. Older releases may lack support for newer devices, operating systems, firmware, or security updates.

- Please carefully read this page and user manual before first using. Especially, please do unfold the led strip roll or install the led strip before power it on
Back up profiles before changing iCUE
Before uninstalling or performing a clean reinstall, export important profiles from iCUE. Save the exported files somewhere outside the iCUE folders, such as your Documents folder or an external drive. Profile behavior can vary by software version and device, so a backup is safer than assuming an uninstall will preserve everything.
If iCUE will not install
- Confirm that the installer came from Corsair.
- Temporarily disconnect VPN or tunneling software.
- Install current Windows or macOS updates.
- On Windows, right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator.
- Restart the computer and try the installer again.
- If an earlier installation is damaged, follow Corsair’s clean-reinstallation procedure.
If iCUE does not detect your device
Start with the physical connection. Connect the Corsair device directly to the computer, avoiding a USB hub, switch, or pass-through while troubleshooting.
On Windows:
- Open Installed Apps. On Windows 10, open Apps & Features.
- Find CORSAIR iCUE 5 Software.
- Open its three-dot menu and select Modify.
- Allow iCUE to repair itself.
- Restart iCUE and check the device again.
Corsair notes that the repair may need to be run more than once. If it does not restore detection, use the official clean-removal and reinstall procedure described below. The repair is a recommended step, not a guaranteed fix.

Clean reinstall iCUE on Windows
Use Corsair’s iCUE Removal Tool and clean-reinstallation instructions. The documented manual sequence is:
- Export and back up your iCUE profiles.
- Open Control Panel and select Programs > Uninstall a program.
- Select Corsair iCUE Software and choose Uninstall.
- If offered, enable Delete Settings for All Users.
- Press Windows key + R, enter
%appdata%, and delete Corsair folders shown there. - Repeat with
%localappdata%. - For iCUE 3, check
C:Program Files (x86). For iCUE 4 or 5, checkC:Program Files. - Open Run again, enter
%programdata%, and delete Corsair folders shown there. - Restart Windows.
- Download a fresh installer from Corsair and reinstall iCUE.
Delete only Corsair-related files in the locations Corsair identifies. Do not remove unrelated folders or system files.

If iCUE detects other devices but not Corsair RGB memory, another RGB utility may be competing for control. Corsair also recommends checking for a motherboard BIOS update and, on some systems including certain ASUS Z690 configurations, enabling the motherboard’s SPD Write option.

In iCUE Settings, use Restart iCUE Service, then check detection again. Follow Corsair’s RGB-memory troubleshooting guidance for model-specific limitations.
macOS version caveat
Corsair’s release notes state that macOS 11 and older stopped receiving updates beginning with iCUE 5.23. Those systems could continue using iCUE 5.22 or older but could not successfully update beyond that branch. This is a historical, version-specific limitation and should not be applied to every macOS release. For current requirements, consult Corsair’s compatibility page.
Conflicts with other RGB software
Motherboard-vendor RGB utilities and third-party RGB controllers may control some Corsair lighting, but they generally do not provide the full set of Corsair-specific macros, remaps, firmware controls, cooling options, profiles, or peripheral settings. They may also conflict with iCUE.
