For a quick copy of one page, use your browser’s Print command and choose a PDF destination; links commonly remain clickable, but check the saved file before relying on them. For more control over a long page or a multi-page site capture, Adobe Acrobat’s web-page conversion offers capture-depth and structure settings. Neither route guarantees that every interactive page element or link will survive unchanged.
Choose the right way to save the page

If your priority is a readable offline document with working text links, start with browser printing. If you need capture depth, bookmarks, tags, or other PDF-specific controls, consider Acrobat. If your goal is to automate a visual capture, the ScreenshotNeo option below is a separate workflow.
Prepare the webpage before converting it
- Open the exact page you need and confirm that you can access its content. Sign-in walls and pages that require interaction may not print like the view you expect.
- Dismiss cookie notices, chat panels, and other overlays if they obscure the page. Scroll through important sections so delayed or lazy-loaded content has a chance to appear.
- Look for content that appears only after clicking, such as expandable panels, tabs, or menus. Open the material you need before printing; a static PDF cannot preserve the page’s full interactive behavior.
- Keep the original page URL and the date you saved it with your notes. A PDF is a snapshot, not a guarantee that the online page will remain unchanged or accessible.
Save one webpage as a PDF from Microsoft Edge
- Open the page in Edge.
- Open Print using Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on macOS, the three-dot menu’s Print command, or the page’s right-click menu. Microsoft documents these routes in its Print in Microsoft Edge support page.
- In the print dialog, choose the available PDF destination, such as Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF, depending on your operating system and installed options.
- Review the preview and available page, layout, and margin settings. Choose the range and orientation that include the content you need.
- Select Print or Save, choose a descriptive filename and destination, and save the file.
- Open the resulting PDF and test several links, including at least one internal page link and one external link if both are present.
Edge also documents Immersive Reader as a cleaner-printing route for pages that support it. Availability and behavior depend on the page; it is not a universal way to remove clutter or preserve site functionality. In another browser, use its Print command and select a PDF destination if offered. Menu names and PDF destinations can differ by browser and operating system.
Convert a page or site with Adobe Acrobat
Acrobat is the more suitable choice when you need to convert a URL or HTML file with more control than a browser’s current-page print dialog provides. Adobe describes converting a page, capturing multiple levels or an entire site, and limiting capture to the same path or server in its web-page conversion instructions.

- In Acrobat’s web-page conversion workflow, enter the webpage URL or select an HTML file.
- Choose the capture scope. For a single page, keep the scope narrow. For a site section, set the required number of levels and use same-path or same-server limits as appropriate. A wider scope can include pages you did not intend to save, so check the limits before starting.
- Start the conversion and allow it to finish. Pages behind authentication, scripts, or interaction may not be captured in the same state as the page in your browser.
- Review the PDF settings before saving. Check bookmarks, PDF tags, link underlining, backgrounds, image conversion, and expansion of scrollable blocks as relevant to the document.
- Save the PDF and inspect both its contents and links in a PDF viewer.
Adobe’s guide to converting websites to PDFs describes its browser extension as a way to convert an open page, an HTML file, or selected content. Adobe says the result keeps “the same links, layout, and formatting.” Treat that as the product’s description of its workflow, not a guarantee that every site’s scripts, layout, or link behavior will transfer perfectly.
What the PDF settings do
- Bookmarks: add navigational entries to the PDF where supported by the conversion.
- PDF tags: retain structural information based on HTML, which can help with navigation and accessibility.
- Link underlining: changes how links are styled in the PDF; it does not by itself guarantee every link destination works.
- Backgrounds and images: affect how visual styling and image content appear in the converted document.
- Scrollable-block expansion: can expose content that was inside a scrollable region on the webpage, subject to the page and conversion behavior.
Keep hyperlinks usable and verify the result
A PDF can retain clickable links without reproducing the full webpage. Check the actual saved file rather than assuming that a link’s appearance proves it works.

- Click several visible links in a PDF viewer, including links near the beginning and end of the document.
- Test internal links, such as table-of-contents entries or jump links, separately from external URLs.
- Check whether links open the intended destination and whether the PDF viewer allows external navigation.
- Look for missing sections, cut-off content, blank areas, or images that failed to load.
- If a link is absent or wrong, retry after loading the page fully or use Acrobat’s conversion settings. A page script, print stylesheet, authentication, or content revealed only by interaction can affect the result.
Retained links are useful for navigation, but a PDF does not preserve the webpage’s live scripts, forms, or changing data as a functioning website. The official product documentation describes conversion controls, not a guarantee for every site or element.

Does saving a webpage as a PDF save the whole website?
Browser printing generally targets the current page. Acrobat offers multi-level or entire-site capture with scope limits; inspect the saved result because access restrictions and dynamic content can affect what is included.
