For most buyers, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is the best balance of performance, display, camera hardware and price—provided it costs noticeably less than the Pro+ and is compatible with your network. Choose the Pro+ 5G for 120W charging and IP68-rated protection; choose the Pro 4G only if it is much cheaper or you specifically need microSD expansion. First check the full model name: these are three materially different phones, not one phone with minor regional variations.
Identify the exact Redmi Note 13 Pro first
Retail listings often shorten the name, but the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G differ in chipset, network support, screen resolution, charging and durability. The figures below reflect the cited Xiaomi regional specifications; features such as NFC, SIM/eSIM, supported bands and in-box accessories can vary by market.

Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G vs Pro 5G
Performance and screen
The Pro 5G’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is the more capable platform for demanding games, heavier multitasking and image processing. The Helio G99-Ultra in the 4G phone is better suited to everyday tasks such as messaging, browsing and streaming, with casual gaming. No benchmark result should be inferred from the chip names alone, but the 4G model is not a performance equivalent to the 5G version.

Both have 6.67-inch AMOLED screens with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 5G model’s 2712 × 1220 panel is sharper than the 4G model’s 2400 × 1080 display, which can help text and fine detail look crisper. Resolution alone does not establish which screen has better color, brightness or battery life.
Camera, network and storage
Xiaomi lists a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera for both cited versions. The 5G Pro’s listed video modes include 4K at up to 30fps; do not assume the 4G model has the same video options without checking its exact regional specification. Matching megapixel counts do not guarantee matching image processing or results.
The 5G model adds 5G and, in some regional configurations, eSIM. The 4G model’s cited specification lists a hybrid SIM/microSD slot, making it the one to investigate if removable storage matters. Check the exact product listing for SIM arrangement, NFC and supported network bands; these are not guaranteed by the shared product name.

Who should buy the 4G model?
Consider it if you mainly use everyday apps, do not need 5G, want microSD expansion, and it is substantially cheaper than the 5G Pro. If the price gap is small, the sharper screen and more capable chipset make the 5G Pro the more flexible choice.
Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G vs Pro+ 5G
Speed and charging
The Pro+ has a Dimensity 7200-Ultra, while the Pro 5G uses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The Pro+ is generally the faster option, but the size of any real-world advantage depends on the task, software and sustained thermal behavior. Do not treat peak chip specifications as a guarantee of better long gaming sessions.

Charging is the Pro+’s clearest specification advantage: Xiaomi lists 120W, compared with 67W on the Pro 5G. That means the Pro+ can be the better fit if a short top-up matters to you. Actual charging depends on the charger, temperature and battery condition. Xiaomi says the 120W adapter is included in the cited UK specification but may be sold separately in some regions, so confirm what the seller’s box contains.
Flat screen or curved screen; IP54 or IP68
The Pro 5G has a flat display and is listed with IP54-level protection in commonly sold global versions; the Pro+ has a curved screen and an IP68 rating in Xiaomi’s cited UK specification. Curved glass may look more premium, but edge gestures, accidental touches, cases and screen protectors can be more troublesome. A flat screen is often the practical choice if you prioritize straightforward protection.

Water resistance can also be affected by wear or repair, so do not treat either rating as a reason to expose a phone deliberately.
Display and cameras
Both cited 5G models have a 6.67-inch, 2712 × 1220 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi lists up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, 12-bit color and Gorilla Glass Victus for the Pro+ page; peak brightness is not the same as sustained full-screen brightness, and regional claims can differ. The Pro 5G page also lists Dolby Vision and Gorilla Glass Victus.
Both have a 200MP main camera with OIS alongside 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras in the cited specifications. The Pro+ page specifies a 1/1.4-inch main sensor, f/1.65 aperture and 7P lens, plus 4K video at 24 or 30fps. These figures do not prove that it will take dramatically better photographs in every situation. Neither phone has a dedicated telephoto camera: cropping into a high-resolution main sensor is not equivalent to optical zoom.

For either model, pay more attention to how you shoot than to the headline megapixel count. Pixel-binned images are generally the practical default; the ultrawide is less capable than the main camera, and the 2MP macro is a basic extra. OIS can help reduce camera shake in still photos and some video, but it cannot freeze a moving subject or create optical zoom. Night scenes, moving people, skin tones and video stabilization are the useful points to compare in independent reviews.

Audio and ports
The Pro 5G is the safer pick if a 3.5mm headphone jack is essential, based on the cited regional product information; confirm the exact version before buying. Xiaomi lists stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos on both phones. Check whether your wired headphones need a USB-C adapter and whether it supports the audio output you expect.
Battery life and day-to-day use
The quoted capacities are typical ratings, not promises of a particular number of hours. Screen brightness, mobile signal, gaming, camera use and battery age all affect endurance. The Pro 5G is listed at 5,100mAh and the 4G and Pro+ at 5,000mAh; that small specification difference by itself cannot predict which will last longer in your routine. Charging rates likewise depend on the adapter, local package, temperature and battery condition.
For gaming, the Pro+’s chipset gives it the stronger starting point, while the Pro 5G should cover casual and moderate play. Long sessions also depend on heat management, storage and the game’s settings—not just the refresh rate or chipset name. The 120Hz screen setting can make supported scrolling and animation look smoother, but it does not mean every game runs at 120 frames per second.

Xiaomi’s cited pages describe MIUI 14 at launch. That is not a reliable statement of the phone’s current installed software or remaining support period: updates may differ by model number, region and carrier. Verify the seller’s update information and the device’s current software before purchase; do not assume an exact future update window without a current model-specific Xiaomi statement.

Before buying imported or used stock, confirm all of the following:
- Full model number and version: establish whether it is the 4G Pro, 5G Pro or Pro+ and identify the country/region variant.
- Carrier compatibility: compare the exact LTE and 5G bands with your carrier. “Unlocked,” “global ROM” and “5G” do not establish compatibility; this is especially important for US buyers.
- Calling and services: check VoLTE, eSIM if needed, Google Play certification, Android Auto and banking-app compatibility on that specific variant.
- Configuration and box: confirm RAM/storage, NFC, SIM or microSD arrangement, and whether the correct fast charger is included.
- Warranty and returns: identify who provides local warranty service and whether you can return the phone if a key feature or band is unsupported.
Xiaomi notes that network support, NFC and package contents can vary by region. An imported phone may also have a different firmware or update channel, a charger with an inconvenient plug, or no useful local warranty. Confirm details with the seller and your carrier before paying.
Buying an older phone in 2026
The Note 13 generation is now older stock, so launch prices and past sale prices are not useful as current checkout guidance. Compare the live price of the exact storage configuration, including tax and shipping, and weigh it against warranty, return policy and a newer phone in your market. Historical Xiaomi UK and Germany promotional campaigns show that these models have been discounted, but those old offers are not current prices: UK campaign terms and Germany campaign terms.
For used or long-stored stock, inspect battery condition, AMOLED burn-in or tint, USB-C port wear, charger authenticity, bootloader status and return coverage. A repaired phone’s water resistance should not be assumed to match its original rating. A newer Redmi, Samsung Galaxy A-series, Motorola Edge/Fusion-class model or POCO may be a better fit depending on local price, support, warranty and network compatibility; compare specific models rather than assuming one brand always wins.

- Best balance for most buyers: Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, if meaningfully cheaper than the Pro+ with suitable bands and local warranty. It combines 5G, the sharper flat display, a capable chipset, 200MP/OIS main camera and (in cited versions) a headphone jack.
- Best for fast charging and water resistance: Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G, if you value 120W charging, IP68 protection and the curved premium design enough to justify any price premium. Verify the charger is included.
- Cheapest or microSD-focused pick: Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, only at a substantial discount if 4G and its more modest performance suit your needs.
- Best for wired headphones: Pro 5G, subject to verifying the regional model has the 3.5mm jack.
- Best for gaming among these three: Pro+ 5G on chipset class, though sustained performance depends on heat, settings and the game.
- For US buyers: buy only after confirming exact carrier-band and calling-feature compatibility, plus a warranty and return path you can use.
A useful rule is to compare like-for-like storage and warranty, then ask whether the Pro+’s charging and protection—or the 4G model’s lower price and microSD—are worth more to you than the Pro 5G’s balance. The model name alone is not enough to make that decision.
