Dipende da cosa intendi per “disabilitare F8”. Se premendo F8 cambia il volume o si attiva l’icona stampata sul tasto, modifica Action Keys Mode nel BIOS: F8 tornerà a essere un normale tasto funzione, non verrà spento. Se invece vuoi che Windows ignori F8, usa SharpKeys e imposta Turn Key Off. Una rimappatura di Windows non garantisce il blocco del tasto nel BIOS o nei menu di avvio.
Prima distingui F8 dalla funzione speciale del tasto
Sui notebook HP, i tasti F1–F12 possono svolgere anche un’azione indicata da un’icona, come regolare il volume. A seconda del modello e dell’impostazione, l’azione speciale si attiva premendo il tasto da solo oppure tenendo premuto Fn. Perciò, se F8 abbassa il volume, il tasto non è necessariamente disabilitato: probabilmente è attiva la modalità Action Keys.
- Vuoi usare F8 nei programmi senza cambiare il volume? Disattiva Action Keys Mode nel BIOS.
- Vuoi che F8 non faccia nulla in Windows? Imposta F8 su Turn Key Off con SharpKeys.
- Vuoi trasformare F8 in un altro tasto o limitarne l’azione a un’app? Usa PowerToys.
HP può chiamare l’impostazione Action Keys Mode, Launch Hotkeys without Fn Keypress, Hotkeys o Fn Key switch; percorso e disponibilità variano in base al modello. HP descrive le modalità dei tasti funzione e le relative opzioni del BIOS.
Se F8 abbassa il volume: rendilo un tasto funzione standard
La modifica di Action Keys Mode cambia quale funzione viene attivata dalla pressione semplice. Con la modalità disattivata, F8 invia il normale comando F8; per usare l’azione speciale stampata sul tasto, in genere si preme Fn+F8. Il tasto resta utilizzabile: questa procedura non lo disabilita.

Percorso BIOS comune
- Spegni completamente il laptop.
- Accendilo e premi ripetutamente
F10per aprire il BIOS. - Apri System Configuration e cerca Action Keys Mode.
- Imposta l’opzione su Disabled.
- Premi
F10per salvare le modifiche e riavviare.
Percorso alternativo su alcuni ProBook ed EliteBook
Su determinati modelli business HP, l’impostazione può trovarsi in Advanced > System Options e chiamarsi Launch Hotkeys without Fn Keypress. Spegni il computer, riaccendilo e premi ripetutamente Esc; poi premi F10 per entrare nel BIOS, apri quel percorso e disattiva l’opzione. HP indica questa variante per alcuni modelli, non come percorso valido per tutti i notebook.
Scorciatoia possibile
Su alcuni notebook HP, Fn+Shift sinistro alterna la modalità dei tasti funzione. Non è disponibile su tutti i modelli; se non produce effetto, usa l’impostazione BIOS prevista per il tuo laptop. HP documenta la scorciatoia per i modelli compatibili.

Se vuoi che Windows ignori F8: usa SharpKeys
SharpKeys permette di associare F8 a Turn Key Off tramite la mappatura dei codici di scansione di Windows. La modifica riguarda Windows, non il firmware del laptop; applicala solo se non ti serve F8 nei programmi.

- Apri il programma e seleziona Add.
- Nella colonna di sinistra scegli F8, oppure usa la funzione di rilevamento e premi il tasto.
- Nella colonna di destra seleziona Turn Key Off, quindi conferma con OK.
- Seleziona Write to Registry e riavvia Windows.
Dopo il riavvio, prova F8 in un’app Windows. Prima di modificare la mappatura, è prudente creare un punto di ripristino. La modifica usa una mappatura Windows generale e può quindi interessare anche le tastiere collegate al computer, non soltanto quella integrata. Nel codice di SharpKeys, Turn Key Off è l’opzione che non associa il tasto a un’altra funzione.

PowerToys: per una rimappatura reversibile o limitata a un’app
Microsoft PowerToys Keyboard Manager può rimappare F8 a un altro tasto o comando e permette di applicare la regola a un’app specifica. È più adatto a una sostituzione contestuale che a un blocco permanente: la rimappatura funziona mentre PowerToys è in esecuzione in background.
- Installa e avvia Microsoft PowerToys.
- Apri Keyboard Manager e seleziona Remap a key.
- Seleziona Add key remapping, imposta F8 come origine e scegli il tasto o comando di destinazione.
- Se vuoi limitare la regola, specifica l’applicazione secondo le opzioni mostrate da Keyboard Manager, poi conferma con OK.
Puoi sospendere la rimappatura chiudendo PowerToys. La funzione richiede che PowerToys resti attivo; può inoltre non intercettare correttamente applicazioni avviate come amministratore se PowerToys non dispone dello stesso livello di privilegi. Microsoft avverte anche che Keyboard Manager può interferire con i giochi. Il tasto fisico Fn non è rimappabile nella maggior parte dei casi. Consulta la documentazione Microsoft di Keyboard Manager per i limiti e le opzioni aggiornati.

Rimuovere la regola da SharpKeys
- Apri SharpKeys e seleziona la riga che associa F8 a Turn Key Off.
- Elimina la riga e seleziona Write to Registry.
- Riavvia Windows.
Recupero se SharpKeys non è più utilizzabile
Come ultima risorsa, da un Prompt dei comandi aperto come amministratore puoi rimuovere la voce Scancode Map con questo comando:

Riavvia Windows dopo il comando. Attenzione: eliminare Scancode Map rimuove tutte le rimappature conservate in quella voce, non necessariamente soltanto quella di F8. SharpKeys documenta questa procedura di recupero nel repository del progetto.
Se F8 continua a funzionare o il problema non si risolve
- Controlla cosa hai selezionato: per il blocco in Windows devi rimappare
F8, non una combinazione conFn. Il comportamento diFnvaria secondo il modello. - Verifica i passaggi di SharpKeys: la regola deve essere scritta nel registro con Write to Registry e Windows deve essere riavviato.
- Prova dopo l’avvio di Windows: una mappatura Windows non è una modifica al BIOS e non va usata per controllare i tasti nei menu di avvio o negli ambienti di recupero. Le rimappature gestite da software dipendono dal sistema operativo o dall’applicazione che le esegue; PowerToys, per esempio, richiede di essere in esecuzione.
- Se usi un gioco: alcuni giochi possono leggere l’input della tastiera in modo che una rimappatura Windows non intercetti. PowerToys segnala inoltre possibili interferenze con i giochi.
- Se l’opzione BIOS non compare: cerca le voci alternative indicate sopra e verifica le istruzioni HP relative al modello esatto. HP usa percorsi e nomi diversi a seconda della famiglia; non tutti i laptop mostrano la stessa voce.
- Se il tasto sembra guasto: una rimappatura non ripara l’hardware. Prova una tastiera esterna e verifica il comportamento nel BIOS. Se F8 genera input senza essere premuto o non viene rilevato correttamente, consulta il supporto HP del modello per valutare aggiornamenti appropriati o una riparazione; questi controlli non garantiscono che il problema sia software.
Se ti serve F8 per una funzione che si attiva prima dell’avvio di Windows, una rimappatura tramite SharpKeys o PowerToys non è la soluzione: il comportamento in quella fase dipende dal firmware e dal modello HP.
