Yes, you can clear Roblox-related cached or temporary data, but there is no single cache-clearing button that works on every device. The right fix depends on whether the problem is with Roblox.com in a browser, the installed Roblox app, or Roblox Studio. Start with the least disruptive step: restart Roblox and your device, then clear browser data or reset the app only if the problem persists.
What “Roblox cache” means
There are several kinds of local data people call the Roblox cache. Browser cache and cookies belong to Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, or another browser and can affect Roblox.com, sign-in, or the Play button. Roblox app files are stored locally by the desktop or mobile app. Studio files and logs are separate and matter when Roblox Studio is the part that is failing.
Clearing temporary files can help when local files are stale or corrupted, but it is not a guaranteed fix. It does not erase Roblox account data stored online, such as your inventory, Robux, friends, or account progress. However, clearing cookies or app data, deleting local files, or reinstalling may remove a saved sign-in session or local settings. You may need to log in again.
Before clearing anything
- Close Roblox and Roblox Studio completely, then restart your device.
- Note any error message or code and check whether the issue happens in more than one experience.
- If Studio is involved, save and back up local projects before deleting folders or reinstalling.
- If Roblox.com is the problem, use the browser in which you opened Roblox; clearing another browser will not clear its cookies.
Roblox’s desktop troubleshooting guidance lists corrupted temporary or other Roblox files among possible causes of crashes, launch failures, and installation loops. It also notes that security software or an already-running Roblox process can cause problems.

Clear Roblox cache on Windows
If the website or Play button is the problem
Clear temporary internet files and cookies in the browser you use to visit Roblox.com. If you use more than one browser to launch Roblox, clear the data in each relevant one. This can sign you out of websites, not just Roblox, so make sure you know your sign-in details. Roblox recommends restarting the computer after clearing browser data. See its website troubleshooting instructions for browser-related problems.
If the installed desktop client is still failing
- Quit Roblox and Studio. If Roblox will not close, restart the computer first.
- If the problem persists, uninstall Roblox.
- Press Win + R, type
%LOCALAPPDATA%, and press Enter. - In the folder that opens, delete only the folder named
Roblox. Do not delete the wholeAppDataorLocalfolder. - Restart the computer and install Roblox again from the official Roblox source for your installation.

Microsoft Store version: Windows installations are not all identical. If you installed the newer Roblox app through the Microsoft Store, use the repair, reset, or uninstall controls available for that app, or reinstall it, rather than assuming the traditional desktop client’s folder steps apply. Clear Roblox cache on Mac
For a website or launch-button problem, clear Roblox-related cookies and website data in the browser you use. For a broken Mac client, Roblox’s documented approach is to quit and reinstall rather than rely on a universal manual cache-folder deletion:

- Restart the Mac.
- If the client still fails, uninstall Roblox, then restart if needed.
- Open Safari, sign in to Roblox, launch an experience, and follow the installation prompts. Roblox’s reinstall guide describes this Mac reinstall flow.
Do not delete a guessed Roblox folder under Library as a universal fix: the cited current Roblox instructions do not establish one manual Mac cache path for every installation.

- Open Settings and find the apps list or application manager.
- Select Roblox, then open its storage controls.
- If your device offers Clear cache, you can try that less disruptive option first.
- If the problem remains, tap Clear Data or the equivalent clear-storage control and confirm. Reopen Roblox and sign in again if asked.
Clear cache generally removes temporary files while retaining more app settings. Clear Data resets more locally stored information and may sign you out. The exact labels vary, and Roblox’s Android troubleshooting page specifically describes clearing data. Restart the device and reinstall Roblox if clearing data does not help.
Clear Roblox cache on iPhone or iPad
Roblox does not document a universal iOS in-app cache button in its iOS troubleshooting guidance. Try this sequence:

- Install available Roblox and iOS/iPadOS updates.
- If Roblox.com in Safari is the issue, clear the relevant Roblox cookies or Safari website data.
- If the app itself is malfunctioning, delete Roblox and reinstall it from the App Store. Offloading the app is another iOS storage option, but deleting and reinstalling is the more complete reset.
- Open Roblox and sign in again if prompted.
Deleting or reinstalling removes local app data; offloading and deleting do not necessarily have identical effects. Neither should be treated as a promise that every local setting or session will remain intact.
If Roblox Studio is the problem
Clearing a player app’s cache may not resolve a Studio crash or script issue. Save and back up local places before changing files. Roblox Studio records diagnostic messages in local logs; on Windows, the logs are under %LOCALAPPDATA%Robloxlogs. Reproduce the issue and include relevant logs if you contact Roblox Support. See the Creator Hub debugging documentation. Do not delete project files just because Studio is malfunctioning.
What if clearing cache does not work?
Cache clearing is most relevant to corrupted or stale local files, loading issues, website display problems, or a launch/install loop. It is unlikely to fix every Roblox problem. If the issue continues:

- Check scope: Try another experience. If just one fails, the problem may be specific to that experience. If Roblox fails on multiple devices, a local cache is less likely to be the cause.
- Check service and connection: An outage, unstable internet, router, or DNS problem will not be fixed by deleting local files.
- Check blockers: Firewall or antivirus software can prevent the client from connecting. Browser extensions can interfere with Roblox.com; Roblox’s website guidance recommends checking add-ons when they cause site problems.
- Check device and software: Update Roblox and the operating system, and make sure the device has enough storage and is compatible.
- Check account issues: A suspension, experience-specific ban, or sign-in to the wrong account is not a cache problem.
If you contact Roblox Support, include your username, the exact error message, device model, operating-system version, and steps that reproduce the issue. Avoid repeatedly reinstalling if the same failure returns immediately; that points toward a blocker, permissions, network, update, or account issue rather than just stale cache.
