Yes, in many cases. You can unlink a PlayStation Network (PSN) account from one Ubisoft account and link it to another, but the change is restricted and does not transfer Ubisoft progress or account data. Before you proceed, check which Ubisoft account holds your game progress and review the rules for the specific game.
Before you unlink anything
A PSN account and a Ubisoft account are separate accounts. Changing the link does not change your PSN Online ID; it changes which Ubisoft account recognizes that PSN account.
Pause before confirming: Progress already saved or merged to a Ubisoft account generally stays there after unlinking. Linking your PSN account to a different Ubisoft account does not move that progress to the new account. An in-game progression merge may also be irreversible. If you are unsure where your progress is stored, do not accept a merge prompt or unlink yet.

- Save screenshots of the linked-account page and keep relevant purchase receipts or transaction IDs.
- Check the affected game’s support information: progress, purchases, and entitlements vary by title and store.
- Do not delete the old Ubisoft account as a workaround.
Check which Ubisoft account is linked
- Go to Ubisoft Account Information and sign in.
- Open the account-information or account-management section.
- Find Linked accounts, Account linking, or a similarly named section, then look for PlayStation Network.
Ubisoft’s site labels can vary by region or change over time. If you have more than one Ubisoft account, check each one you can access rather than assuming the email you use for PlayStation is the linked account.

How to change the linked Ubisoft account
Ubisoft’s account-linking guidance is the place to check the current rules. If the account page allows you to unlink the PSN account, the general process is:
- Sign in to the Ubisoft account currently linked to your PSN account.
- Open Account Information and go to Linked accounts or the equivalent section.
- Choose the PlayStation Network account and select Unlink.
- Read the warning carefully. Continue only if you understand what will happen to the affected game’s progress and content.
- Sign out of Ubisoft account pages and the affected game. Sign in to, or create, the Ubisoft account you intend to use.
- Launch the game on PlayStation and follow its linking prompt, if one appears. Check that it shows the correct Ubisoft account before confirming.
The prompt may not appear, and unlinking may not free the PSN account for self-service relinking in every case. If the account page does not offer the option or the game reports that the PSN account is already linked, stop and contact Ubisoft Support rather than repeatedly trying or making more accounts.
What happens to progress?
For games that use Ubisoft server-side progression or cross-progression, data is associated with a Ubisoft account. Ubisoft says progression already merged or saved to an account remains on that account if the console account is later linked elsewhere. The new Ubisoft account therefore may show a separate or fresh profile; relinking the PSN account is not a way to transfer the old profile.

A PlayStation save file may still exist locally, but that does not guarantee that Ubisoft online progress, inventory, rank, statistics, cosmetics, currency, or other account data will be recognized under a different Ubisoft account. The exact result depends on the game. If the old Ubisoft account still holds the progress, reconnecting that account may be the safest way to access it; ask Support for guidance if you cannot access it.
What happens to purchases, DLC, and other content?
Do not assume that purchases move with the PSN link—or that unlinking automatically removes every item. Entitlements can depend on the game, platform, store of purchase, and account. PlayStation Store purchases, Ubisoft Store purchases, in-game currency, cosmetics, battle passes, and other content may be handled differently.
Ubisoft’s cross-progression FAQ notes that store interfaces may show content as not purchased depending on where it was bought, even when it is available in-game. That is not a guarantee that an item transfers to a different Ubisoft account. Check the affected game’s documentation before unlinking, and keep receipts for purchases you may need to discuss with Support.

Relinking limits and account rules
Ubisoft’s published cross-progression guidance says a console account can be unlinked and relinked to a different Ubisoft account up to two times, and that only one account per participating platform can be linked in the relevant system. That guidance is specifically tied to Ubisoft’s cross-progression rules; do not assume the limit applies identically to every Ubisoft game or service. Check the current account-linking guidance and the rules for your title before switching. In any event, this is not an unlimited account-switching feature.
Relinking is also different from merging Ubisoft accounts. It changes the account associated with a platform; it does not combine two Ubisoft profiles or their progress.

There are several possible explanations: the PSN account may still be attached to another Ubisoft account, a relinking limit may have been reached, the game may be in a progression-merge state, a security or recovery restriction may apply, or the website may be having an authentication issue. The button’s absence alone does not establish which one applies.

Contact Ubisoft Support and include:
- Your Ubisoft username and account email, plus your PSN Online ID.
- The game title, PlayStation platform, and approximate date you linked the accounts.
- A screenshot of the linked-account page and any error message.
- Receipts or transaction IDs for relevant purchases.
- A clear note that you own both accounts and which account you believe contains the progress.
If you no longer have access to the old Ubisoft email, explain that to Support and use its account-recovery process. Do not share your password, create a chain of replacement accounts, or accept another merge prompt while the account ownership is unclear. Support is the escalation route, but it cannot be assumed that progress, purchases, or accounts can be transferred or merged.
Do not delete the Ubisoft account to change the link
Closing a Ubisoft account is not a safe unlinking method. Ubisoft’s privacy policy says account closure can remove access to the account, games, progression, online services, orders, and external-account links. Use the account-linking process or contact Support instead.
