Copy This Brand Voice Template
Brand purpose: [What this brand helps people do] Audience: [Budget, experience level, location and main need] Promise: [The useful result readers should get] Tone: [For example: practical, friendly, calm] Personality: [Three to five traits] Sentence style: [Short or long; simple or technical; active or conversational] Vocabulary to use: [Preferred words and phrases] Words to avoid: [Banned phrases, hype and jargon] Proof standard: [What must be checked before publishing] Format rules: [Headline length, bullets, calls to action and channel limits] Localisation: [Language, spelling and currency requirements] Example opening: [Two or three sentences in the desired voice] Example call to action: [One clear next step]
For a budget-smartphone site, an example audience line could be: “Readers comparing affordable phones who need clear prices, battery expectations and practical setup advice.” Keep that line specific to your readers instead of writing a general “tech audience.”
Fill The Template With A Phone Reader In Mind
- Define the job. Write whether the content helps someone compare phones, set up a device, save mobile data or choose an app.
- Set the reading level. Choose plain explanations first, then define any necessary technical term in the same paragraph.
- Choose proof rules. Require a source or vendor page for prices, plan limits, languages, integrations and availability. If a detail is not established, tell readers to check the vendor site.
- Write guardrails. Add banned hype such as “best ever,” plus rules for honest qualifiers like “free to start” or “limit not stated.”
- Add two short examples. Save one opening paragraph and one call to action that demonstrate the voice without locking every article to the same wording.
Build The Voice Profile In Each Tool

Run A Phone-Content Voice Check
- Draft the article or post with the selected profile attached.
- Compare the opening with your saved example: does it speak to an affordable-phone reader and state a practical outcome?
- Search for every banned word, unsupported number and unverified product claim.
- Shorten long sentences and explain unfamiliar terms before publishing.
- Use Claritar for a score and rewrite when you need a repeatable review, or use the profile tool’s own editing workflow.
- Save the approved draft as a new example only when it follows every rule in the template.
Keep The Template Accurate
- Update the audience line when you create a different content type, such as a setup guide instead of a buying guide.
- Do not place prices, limits, integrations or language claims in the template unless you can verify them on the relevant vendor page.
- Check each tool’s current terms for uploaded samples, ownership and permitted reuse before adding client or unpublished material.
- Ask the vendor about unsupported specifics such as mobile-app availability, exports, exact integrations or regional access.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
