Best free WPForms alternatives
Fluent Forms: strongest free-tier candidate for logic and integrations
Fluent Forms is a close WordPress-native alternative when you want a free tier and need conditional logic or connections to other services. A Fluent Forms comparison says its free version includes integrations such as Stripe, Slack, Mailchimp, FluentCRM and Fluent Support. That is a vendor-authored claim, so verify that each integration and its limits are still included in the current version.
Use it when the form must stay inside WordPress and the free plan covers your required fields, logic, notifications and data storage. The same comparison lists a single-site paid license at $79 per year, but that figure is not independently confirmed here; check the current vendor pricing page and renewal terms.
Forminator: useful when forms share space with polls, quizzes or calculations
Forminator is worth considering if you need ordinary forms alongside polls, quizzes or calculation-based interactions. A Fluent Forms comparison states that its free version includes integrations such as Google Sheets, Slack and Stripe. Treat those inclusions as product-positioning information and confirm the current plan, limits and payment requirements directly with Forminator’s owner.

Gravity Forms is a paid WordPress option with three official annual licenses. The pricing page accessed on September 30, 2026 listed:

These are annual license prices, and add-ons vary by tier. Recheck the page immediately before buying because licensing and included extensions can change. Gravity Forms is most compelling when one of its included add-ons solves a real workflow requirement; otherwise a free plugin may provide better value.
Formidable Forms: best aligned with calculations and published results
Formidable Forms is a better fit when a form is also an application: for example, a quote calculator, scored questionnaire, directory or public table of submitted data. Jotform’s comparison highlights its Views tools for presenting submissions, while Formidable’s own comparison emphasizes calculations and front-end content. These are vendor-authored positioning claims, not independent test results, so validate the exact display, permissions and calculation behavior in your environment.
For a simple contact form, its specialized features may add cost and setup you do not need. For a data-driven site, they can eliminate custom development.
Hosted alternatives: Jotform and Typeform
Jotform and Typeform are hosted form services, not always direct replacements for a WordPress plugin. They can be appropriate when you need to embed the same form across multiple sites, keep form administration outside WordPress or use a conversational presentation.
Evaluate the trade-offs before comparing prices: submissions may be capped by plan, data resides in a third-party service, and advanced integrations or branding controls can require a higher tier. Confirm current submission limits, storage, export options, privacy terms and renewal prices on the provider’s site.

Other alternatives to consider selectively

Do not choose from that list merely because it is long. Investigate a specific option when it matches a concrete need, such as an Elementor or Gutenberg workflow, developer-level control, or a conversational presentation. Verify current pricing and feature gates with each product owner.
What happens to existing WPForms entries and forms?
WPForms’ official page says its entry importer can import CSV files and migrate entries from Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms and Contact Form 7. That makes migration feasible, but it does not establish that every field, conditional rule, payment setting, notification or integration will transfer intact.
