There is no single best WordPress feedback plugin. The right choice depends on whether you need survey answers, a one-click “Was it helpful?” signal, visual bug reports, feature voting, or behavior analytics. For most survey-led sites, UserFeedback is the broadest fit; Marker.io is better for screenshot-based QA and client reviews; Helpful is the simplest choice for article usefulness ratings.
Match the plugin to the feedback you need
“Feedback plugin” describes several different jobs. Start with the output you need, not the plugin name.
| Primary job | Best-shaped option | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Ask visitors why they behave a certain way | UserFeedback | Surveys and polls with targeting, widget or shortcode placement, reporting and analytics integrations. |
| Collect page-specific visual defects or client comments | Marker.io | Screenshots, annotations, uploads and technical details can be routed to project-management tools. |
| Measure whether an article helped | Helpful | A focused “Was it helpful?” rating for blog and knowledge-base pages. |
| Run a feedback board, roadmap or voting process | Review options such as Sleekplan or Simple Feature Requests | These are listed in the WordPress.org user-feedback directory; verify current workflows and limits before choosing. |
The WordPress.org user-feedback directory also lists FeedFocal, Jotform Feedback Button, Gleap, Ybug, Mopinion and other smaller plugins. Directory presence, active-installation counts and tested-version labels are changing metadata, not independent quality rankings.
Best overall survey plugin: UserFeedback
UserFeedback is the strongest fit when analytics tell you what visitors did but you still need to learn why. WordPress.org describes it for questions, surveys and polls, while the vendor documents automatic widgets or shortcode embedding, targeting rules, multiple question types, reporting and analytics integrations on its features page.
#1 Best Overall
What it can collect
- Open-ended explanations and comment-box responses.
- Polls and structured survey answers.
- Page-targeted prompts rather than one identical question everywhere.
- Reports and exports, with higher-tier analysis features.
Plans and renewal warning
The vendor’s pricing page currently shows annual USD introductory prices of $49.50 for Plus, $99.50 for Pro and $149.50 for Elite, with listed regular prices of $99, $199 and $299. The page states that introductory pricing renews at the full price. Plus adds features such as additional question types, comment boxes, page targeting, exports and customization; higher tiers add more site allowances and features including NPS reporting, AI summaries and heatmaps. Treat these as a September 2026 page snapshot and confirm checkout terms at the current pricing page.
Current directory and changelog context
The WordPress.org listing recorded 200,000+ active installations when accessed in 2026. That is a live directory count, not an audited adoption or performance measure. The official changelog dates version 1.12.0 to September 16, 2026, noting a conditional comment-box improvement and customizable low/high NPS labels; it also records an Email Survey Widget release on March 11, 2026. Those are changelog facts, not independent test results.
Best for visual website and client feedback: Marker.io
Choose Marker.io when someone needs to point at a problem on a page rather than answer a questionnaire. Its February 25, 2026 comparison describes a WordPress widget that captures screenshots with annotations, text and shapes, file uploads and technical metadata, then sends reports to tools including Jira, GitHub, Trello, ClickUp and Notion. It also describes issue-status synchronization.

Rank #3
Use it when
- A reporter must show exactly which element is wrong.
- Evidence such as a screenshot, annotation or upload will reduce back-and-forth.
- Your team already triages work in a connected project-management system.
Best for a simple “Was it helpful?” rating: Helpful
Helpful is a narrow article-feedback plugin. The WordPress.org user-feedback directory describes it as a way to add a “Was it helpful?” survey to blog or knowledge-base pages. It is appropriate when your key metric is page usefulness, not a full research program. The directory description does not establish it as a survey suite, visual issue tracker or broad customer-feedback platform.
Good placements
- Documentation articles where readers need a fast usefulness vote.
- Knowledge-base pages where a yes/no signal can identify content needing revision.
- Long-form posts where a persistent survey would be distracting.
Other plugins worth evaluating carefully
The WordPress.org user-feedback category includes several different models:
Rank #4
- FeedFocal: survey-oriented tooling.
- Jotform Feedback Button: a floating way to collect comments, suggestions and bug reports.
- Gleap and Ybug: customer or visual feedback, including screenshot-based reports.
- Mopinion: feedback forms and buttons.
- Simple Feature Requests Free: feedback management and prioritization.
- Sleekplan: feedback, roadmap and changelog widgets.
These descriptions reflect directory categorization, not a head-to-head quality test. Check each plugin’s current documentation for integrations, storage model, language support, multisite behavior, WordPress compatibility and plan limits.
Where Hotjar fits
The Marker.io comparison discusses Hotjar as a broader product family combining on-page surveys, heatmaps and behavior analytics. Its offerings are divided across products, so verify current features and pricing on Hotjar’s own documentation before treating it as a WordPress-plugin alternative.

How to choose a WordPress feedback plugin
- Define the feedback format. Decide between survey answers, a one-click usefulness rating, visual annotations, a voting board or behavioral analytics plus surveys.
- Choose placement and targeting. Look for page-specific prompts, automatic widgets, shortcode or embed options, or a persistent feedback button according to your user journey.
- Map the destination workflow. Determine where responses go, who triages them and whether status must synchronize with a project-management tool.
- Check analysis needs. Confirm reporting, exports, segmentation, heatmaps or prioritization boards before committing to a tier.
- Calculate scale and cost. Compare site allowances, response or survey limits, premium features and renewal prices—not only introductory offers.
- Verify operational fit. Confirm WordPress and multisite compatibility, language support, privacy requirements and whether data is stored in WordPress or a hosted account.
A practical setup plan
- Write one decision question, such as “What stopped you from completing checkout?” or “Was this article helpful?”
- Place the prompt only where the answer is relevant: target a page or use a shortcode instead of interrupting every visitor.
- Keep the first survey short, then add an optional explanation field for useful context.
- Connect responses to the team or analytics destination that will act on them.
- Review responses on a defined schedule and record the change each insight triggers.
- For visual defects, require a URL, screenshot or annotation and a reproducible description before routing the issue.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
The cited material supports use-case matching, not an independently tested universal ranking. No head-to-head speed, conversion, response-quality or satisfaction test was provided. Plugin counts, compatibility labels, integrations, pricing and promotions can change, so recheck the linked WordPress.org or vendor pages when you install or purchase.
The Bottom Line
Pick UserFeedback for targeted surveys, Marker.io for screenshot-led visual issue reporting, and Helpful for a compact article-usefulness vote. Treat pricing, directory counts and integrations as time-sensitive details and verify them before deployment.
