For most CPAP users, a 700–1,100Wh LiFePO₄ power station is the best all-purpose choice: it provides useful reserve for an overnight outage, can run phones and lights, and offers several recharge options. A 250–500Wh pure-sine-wave station may be enough for one humidifier-free night. If you need the smallest, most efficient travel setup, consider a manufacturer-compatible dedicated CPAP battery instead.
Actual runtime depends far more on your CPAP’s average draw, humidifier, heated tubing, connection method and temperature than on the adapter’s headline wattage. Test your exact setup for a full night before relying on it during a blackout or trip.

Nightly energy = average watts × hours of operation
| Average load | Eight-hour energy before losses |
|---|---|
| 25W | 200Wh |
| 30W | 240Wh |
| 40W | 320Wh |

| 65W | 520Wh |
| 80W | 640Wh |
Through an AC inverter, plan on roughly 80–90% of the advertised capacity reaching the CPAP. This is a planning assumption, not a universal measurement; inverter efficiency, standby draw, temperature, battery age and reserve settings all matter.
Estimated AC runtime (hours) ≈ battery Wh × 0.80–0.90 ÷ average CPAP watts
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- 200–300Wh: minimum-size choice for one efficient, humidifier-free night after testing.
- 500–800Wh: more comfortable one-night reserve and potentially several humidifier-free nights, depending on measured draw.
- 1,000–1,100Wh: the best general-purpose range for multiple nights, cold-weather reserve and other emergency devices.
- 2,000Wh-plus: appropriate for extended outages or several substantial loads, but usually excessive for one CPAP.
Do not confuse the adapter rating with consumption
The ResMed AirSense 11 is supplied with a 65W power unit and has an integrated heated humidifier. The 65W number describes the supply’s capability; it does not prove that the machine continuously draws 65W all night. Philips similarly publishes supply and electrical limits for DreamStation models, not a universal overnight average. Measure your complete setup if possible.
Humidification and heated tubing can materially increase energy use. Turning them off may extend runtime, but can cause dryness or discomfort and may not suit your prescribed therapy. Do not change your normal treatment solely to save battery without discussing it with your clinician or equipment provider.

AC versus direct DC
AC: simplest and most compatible
Battery → AC inverter → original CPAP power brick → CPAP
Use the original supply with a pure-sine-wave AC outlet when compatibility is uncertain. This works across more machines, but incurs inverter and power-brick losses and may activate a cooling fan. Disable an ECO or low-load shutoff mode if the station offers one.
Direct DC: often quieter and more efficient
DC output → manufacturer-approved converter/cable → CPAP
ResMed offers an Air11 DC/DC converter for suitable 12V or 24V sources and lists different accessories for AirSense 10/AirCurve 10. Philips documentation likewise specifies the correct Philips Respironics DC cord and battery adapter for each DreamStation model. Voltage, polarity, connector dimensions and current rating must all match. A barrel plug that fits is not proof of compatibility.
Product considerations
EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus
This is a strong choice when CPAP backup is part of a larger outage plan. EcoFlow states that it can charge from 0% to 100% in 56 minutes on AC and in 70 minutes with its stated 500W MPPT solar configuration (official specifications). Its size and weight make it less attractive for minimalist travel, but fast recharge is valuable when daylight or generator time is limited.

Jackery Explorer 1000 v2
The official page lists 1,500W maximum AC output, 100W USB-C output and 4,000 cycles to at least 70% remaining capacity. That output is far more than a CPAP needs, but useful for other emergency loads. Confirm the current regional variant, capacity and any direct-DC cable before purchase.
Recommended Free Tools
Anker SOLIX C1000 or C1000 Gen 2
These are aimed at users who want fast charging, app monitoring and enough output for appliances as well as CPAP. Select the exact current generation on Anker’s official store; promotional listings often mix old and new specifications.
BLUETTI AC70
The AC70 is a sensible middle ground for campers who want less bulk than many 1kWh stations. Treat capacity, weight, output and warranty figures in comparison articles as provisional until confirmed on BLUETTI’s current US listing. It is less suitable for several humidified nights than a 1kWh-plus unit.
EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro
A smaller station can be a good fit for one humidifier-free night, phones and lights. Do not assume that its advertised capacity will cover multiple nights with heated humidity; test the real configuration.
ResMed Power Station II
The Power Station II is the portability-first alternative for compatible ResMed devices. It avoids carrying a large inverter station, but has limited value for running non-medical equipment and is not universally compatible across PAP families.
Rank #4

Press the LED flashlight button to switch the brightness and SOS modes. When you go out camping or experience power outages, this function may help you out perfectly.
- 3 UPDATED RECHAGRGING WAYS: There are three methods to recharge this power station. You can charge it by wall outlet, fully quick charged in 6hrs, or by car adapter(12V), fully recharged in 8hrs. Or it can be recharged under solar power as a solar generator with a solar panel(DC 16.4V-24V⎓2.7A Max)(not included, could be purchased in our store).
- SECURED & ASSURED: The Battery Management System (BMS) allows for voltage control, temperature control and more advanced safety operations. Designed with the cooling vents on the back to help this portable power supply keep the temperature constant, its internal electrical elements will not be damaged by high temperatures. When it comes to short circuit or overload, it automatically shuts off the power to protect itself and the powered devices.
Features that matter more than headline wattage
- Pure-sine AC: a sensible default for electronic medical equipment.
- Low-load behavior: ECO mode must not switch off while the CPAP is operating at a low or changing draw.
- Usable capacity: account for conversion losses, reserve settings, temperature and aging.
- Recharge options: wall, vehicle and solar inputs matter during extended outages.
- LFP chemistry: useful for frequent cycling; compare the stated end-of-life threshold, warranty and storage limits.
- Noise: inverter and charging fans may be audible. Direct DC operation can reduce this.
- UPS/EPS: transfer time may briefly interrupt the CPAP. Test the exact station; a UPS label is not medical certification.
EcoFlow describes a 30-millisecond battery transfer for its DELTA line’s emergency-power function, but that behavior should not be generalized to every model or brand.
Run a full-night test
- Fully charge the station and install the CPAP exactly as you will use it.
- Use your normal pressure, humidifier and heated-tube settings.
- Choose the intended AC or approved DC connection; disable ECO shutdown where possible.
- Run for eight hours, recording starting and ending battery percentage.
- Repeat in the expected temperature range and with any accessories attached.
- Keep reserve for battery aging and an unexpectedly long outage.
A plug-in watt meter can measure wall-side consumption, but remember that wall-side AC includes inverter and power-brick losses. Do not use a generic DC cable merely because its connector fits.
Safety and special cases
- A station supplying electricity is not automatically a medically certified backup system.
- BiPAP, ASV, ventilators, oxygen concentrators and other respiratory equipment may require substantially different power; do not apply this guide automatically.
- Follow the station’s temperature, ventilation and storage instructions. Never leave a lithium station in a hot vehicle or wet environment.
- Secure and ventilate equipment in a vehicle, and follow both vehicle and station instructions.
- For air travel, check the current airline’s watt-hour, carry-on and spare-lithium rules. Do not assume any station is “airline approved.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a 500Wh power station run a CPAP all night?
Often, if the machine runs without heated humidification and the station is used efficiently, but the result depends on measured average draw and inverter losses. Test your exact setup rather than relying on a universal nights-per-charge claim.
Is a 2,000W power station better for a CPAP?
Not necessarily. Watts describe the maximum instantaneous load; watt-hours describe stored energy. A CPAP usually needs modest output, so extra inverter wattage does not by itself extend runtime.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCan I use any 12V CPAP cable?
No. Voltage, polarity, connector size and current rating must match the exact machine. Use a manufacturer-approved or specifically verified cable.
The Bottom Line
Choose a 700–1,100Wh LFP pure-sine station for the best balance of CPAP runtime, reserve and emergency versatility. Move down to 250–500Wh only after confirming a humidifier-free overnight setup, or choose a compatible dedicated CPAP battery when portability matters more than powering other devices.
