Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days ran in the U.S. on October 7–8, 2025, and is now over. The headline Samsung bargains were the Galaxy S25 Ultra at roughly $950–$1,000 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at $1,599. Prices changed by listing, storage, seller, coupon and timing, so the figures below are historical benchmarks—not current offers.
Amazon officially called the event Prime Big Deal Days. “October Prime Day” is useful shorthand, but it was not the formal name.

1. Galaxy S25 Ultra: best overall conventional phone deal
The Galaxy S25 Ultra was the strongest all-around Samsung deal for shoppers who wanted the company’s top traditional smartphone rather than a foldable. TechRadar reported a 256GB model at $949.99, describing the reduction as $350 from an approximately $1,299.99 list price. Android Headlines recorded $999 for a comparable event listing, while early coverage from Tom’s Guide listed $1,042.

That range matters: the most defensible conclusion is that the S25 Ultra reached roughly $950–$1,000, not that every shopper saw exactly $949.99. The phone’s appeal came from its top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy platform, built-in S Pen and camera system with up to 5x optical zoom. It remained expensive even after the reduction, but it was the best pick for camera-focused buyers and users who wanted Samsung’s highest conventional feature tier.
Benchmark: Treat about $950 as an exceptional historical price and $1,000 as a strong one, provided the listing is new, matches the advertised storage and comes from a seller with acceptable warranty and return terms.
2. Galaxy Z Fold 7: the biggest dollar saving
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 produced the most dramatic absolute discount in the available coverage. Android Headlines reported the 256GB model at $1,599, roughly $400 below an approximately $1,999 reference price, and specifically said that deal did not require a trade-in.
The Fold 7 was the right choice for readers who valued a large internal display for multitasking, reading and productivity. Reported hardware included Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, another event roundup listed the phone at $1,799, demonstrating that the $1,599 price was not a universal, continuously available event price.
A Fold deal also needs a broader cost check than a standard-phone deal. The purchase price, insurance, repair exposure and foldable durability considerations can outweigh a large headline saving for buyers who do not need the internal tablet-sized screen.

3. Galaxy S25: best compact flagship value
The Galaxy S25 was reported at $679, down from a listed $799 price, but this was an early October 3 deal—four days before the official October 7–8 event.
That timing prevents a simple comparison with event-day prices, but $679 was a useful benchmark for a smaller flagship. The S25 suited buyers who wanted flagship software and performance in an easier-to-handle phone without paying Ultra money. It was not an equivalent substitute for the Ultra’s S Pen, larger display, more extensive camera hardware or longer zoom reach.

The Z Flip 7 offered the more accessible route into Samsung’s foldable range. Historical coverage placed it at both $849 and $949, compared with an approximately $1,099 reference price. Tom’s Guide’s early coverage recorded $949, while an event roundup from Android Headlines recorded $849.
The Flip 7 made sense for buyers who prioritized a compact folded footprint, a cover display and the distinctive flip design. It should not be judged by Fold 7 criteria: folding smaller does not provide the Fold’s large multitasking workspace. Buyers should also verify whether a particular price was an automatic discount, coupon, trade-in offer or seller-specific listing.
5. Galaxy S25 Edge: best thin-phone option
Android Headlines listed a 256GB Galaxy S25 Edge at $689 and characterized it as a lowest-ever price. That claim should remain attributed to the coverage because “lowest ever” can depend on storage, seller, condition and the precise date.

The S25 Edge was the natural choice for readers who valued thinness and low weight above the Ultra’s broader camera system, S Pen and more battery-oriented design. The available evidence supports its thin-phone positioning and historical price, but does not establish an independent battery-life comparison. Check the exact model and seller before treating $689 as a like-for-like benchmark.
6. Galaxy S25 FE: best premium compromise
The 256GB Galaxy S25 FE was reported at $559. It occupied the middle ground between the flagship S25 family and Samsung’s cheaper A-series: more premium than a budget phone, but not a full replacement for the S25 Ultra.
Coverage cited a 4,900mAh battery and 45W charging. The FE was a strong value candidate for shoppers who wanted generous storage and a newer Samsung experience without spending flagship Ultra money. Its case depended on accepting compromises in performance, cameras and premium hardware compared with the top S-series models.
7. Galaxy A36 5G: best midrange choice
The Galaxy A36 5G was listed at $375 for 256GB. It was better suited to buyers prioritizing everyday use, battery life and price than those seeking flagship camera performance or premium materials.
Because the price was tied to a historical listing, confirm whether a later deal matches the same storage capacity, whether the phone is unlocked and whether it is new rather than renewed. The A36 was the more balanced value option for shoppers who found the A16 too limited but did not need an S-series phone.

8. Galaxy A16 5G: best budget entry point
The Galaxy A16 5G reached a reported $164.99, making it the cheapest notable Samsung phone in the roundup. It was appropriate when the overriding priority was keeping the upfront cost low.
The trade-off was less performance headroom, less capable cameras and a less refined overall experience than the S-series or upper A-series phones. For any comparable deal, verify the storage, model year, U.S. model number, unlocked status and compatibility with the intended carrier or MVNO.
Why the published prices disagreed
Different prices for the same phone do not necessarily mean that one report was wrong. Amazon event pricing can change quickly, and the coverage captured different pages at different times. The conflicting figures may reflect:
- Early promotions versus official event-day pricing.
- Lightning Deals or limited-time reductions.
- Different storage capacities.
- Seller changes on Amazon Marketplace.
- Coupons that required selecting a box on the product page or applying at checkout.
- Regional, currency or delivery-location differences.
- New, used and renewed conditions being treated as separate listings.
For that reason, “lowest ever” should be read as configuration-specific unless supported by a dated first-party promotion, archived listing or contemporaneous evidence. A headline price also does not establish that every version was unlocked.

The cited $1,599 Fold 7 report explicitly described that offer as requiring no trade-in. That qualification should not be generalized to every Fold 7 listing or to the other phones. For the remaining deals, the evidence does not establish a universal trade-in-free or unlocked status.
Before buying a similar listing, check:
- Whether it is unlocked or tied to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon or another carrier.
- The U.S. model number and supported network bands.
- Whether the seller is Amazon, Samsung or a third-party marketplace seller.
- Whether the phone is new, used or renewed.
- Whether the price requires a coupon, Prime membership, trade-in, activation or carrier bill credits.
- The warranty, return window and restocking conditions.
Carrier promotions may advertise a larger effective saving than these Amazon prices, but they can require a qualifying trade-in, new-line activation, installment plan or multi-year bill credits. Those are not equivalent to an upfront unlocked discount.
Which deal was right for each buyer?
- Best camera and productivity: Galaxy S25 Ultra, particularly near the $950–$1,000 benchmark.
- Best large-screen foldable: Galaxy Z Fold 7 at $1,599, if the buyer could justify its high ownership cost.
- Best compact premium phone: Galaxy S25 at the early-sale $679 price.
- Best stylish compact foldable: Galaxy Z Flip 7 at $849–$949.
- Best thin design: Galaxy S25 Edge at the reported $689 price, subject to configuration checks.

Are these useful benchmarks for later sales?
Yes—but only as historical target prices. A later sale should be compared with the October benchmarks rather than an inflated manufacturer list price:

- Confirm the exact storage tier and model number.
- Check whether the phone is unlocked and compatible with your carrier.
- Confirm that the listing is new, not renewed or used.
- Identify the seller, warranty and return policy.
- Check whether a coupon must be selected or applied at checkout.
- Separate instant discounts from trade-in credits and carrier bill credits.
- Compare Amazon with Samsung, Best Buy and carrier offers using the same configuration.
- For a foldable, price in insurance or protection before deciding that the discount is worthwhile.
