There is no single streaming service that carries every NBA game live for U.S. viewers. NBA League Pass is the best choice for out-of-market games, while local games and national broadcasts often require a regional or team service, a live-TV provider, Peacock, or Prime Video. Choose based on your team, ZIP code, and the games you actually want to watch—not the size of a channel list.

League Pass prices displayed on the NBA subscription page on August 18, 2026 were $16.99 per month for League Pass and $24.99 per month for Premium. Prices, promotions, and season plans can change, so confirm the checkout price before subscribing. Peacock displayed Premium at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year in August 2026; verify current plan terms at checkout. Other live-TV services have changing plans, add-ons, regional fees, and promotions, so check their official pages with your ZIP code.
How NBA streaming rights work in 2026–27
U.S. NBA coverage is split among national rights holders, League Pass, and local broadcasters. The NBA’s current national agreements run from the 2025–26 season through 2035–36 and involve ABC/ESPN, NBC/Peacock, and Amazon Prime Video. In practical terms, a live-TV service may cover some games, but not necessarily the games exclusive to Peacock or Prime Video. League Pass fills much of the out-of-market schedule, not every gap.
- ABC and ESPN: National games and portions of the postseason. Access may come through a qualifying live-TV service or another applicable network offering.
- NBC and Peacock: Games on NBC may be available through a live-TV provider carrying your local NBC affiliate; Peacock also has NBA coverage, including exclusive games. See Peacock’s NBA page.
- Amazon Prime Video: Some games are exclusive to Prime Video. Amazon is also a U.S. purchase destination for League Pass, but that subscription is an add-on. The NBA’s 2026–27 schedule information identifies Prime Video among the season’s NBA broadcasters.
- Local and regional coverage: Your team’s regional sports network (RSN), local broadcast affiliate, or team-specific service may carry games in its market. A nationally exclusive game may not appear on the local service.
- NBA League Pass: Best for out-of-market games. It does not override U.S. local or national blackouts.
The NBA Cup, Play-In Tournament, and playoffs can involve specific broadcast assignments. Check the listing for the game and date rather than assuming the same service covers every round or stage.

Choose by the games you want
If you live outside your favorite team’s market
Start with League Pass. It is designed for fans following teams outside their local broadcast area and for viewers tracking several teams. Before paying, enter your ZIP code in the NBA subscription checker and review its blackout information. If a game is nationally televised, you will need the service carrying that broadcast to watch live.
If you live in your team’s market
Find the team’s current local rights holder first. Check the team’s schedule and official viewing information to see whether each game is on an RSN, a team-specific direct-to-consumer service, or a local ABC or NBC affiliate. Then check which provider carries that network in your ZIP code. League Pass alone is generally a poor primary choice for a home-market fan because local games are blacked out live in the U.S. As one team-specific example—not a model that applies everywhere—the Trail Blazers’ BlazerVision information notes that nationally televised games are excluded.
If you mainly watch national games
Identify the broadcaster listed for each game. A live-TV provider may be useful for ESPN/ABC and local NBC or other channels, but it will not necessarily unlock Peacock- or Prime-exclusive games. Subscribe to those services only if their games are part of your viewing plan.

If you want the broadest practical coverage
A near-complete U.S. setup may require several subscriptions: a live-TV service for relevant channels, Peacock for its exclusive games, Prime Video for its exclusive games, League Pass for out-of-market games, and a local or regional service if needed. Even this combination should be checked against the schedule and your ZIP code; do not assume every game is available live in every market. The total can be costly, so buy only what fills a real coverage gap.
If you are a casual or budget-conscious viewer
Follow the schedule and pay for the service carrying the games you care about. A local antenna may receive an available over-the-air broadcast affiliate, but reception depends on location and equipment. Free trials and promotions may reduce the initial cost, but check the renewal date and regular price. Official highlights and radio are legitimate lower-cost ways to follow games when a live video subscription is not worthwhile.
If you want replays, multiple screens, or travel access
League Pass Premium may suit households that need more simultaneous streams, offline viewing, or fewer commercial interruptions. Features vary by plan, device, and region, and Premium does not erase blackouts. Travel within the U.S. can change which games are locally restricted based on your location. International rules differ; U.S. guidance should not be applied to Canada or other countries without checking the NBA’s League Pass FAQ.

Blackouts and replay timing
For U.S. subscribers, local-team games and games shown nationally are subject to blackout in League Pass. According to the NBA’s blackout policy, nationally blacked-out games become available on demand at 6:00 a.m. Eastern the following day; locally broadcast games generally become available three days after the live broadcast concludes. Live radio may still be available for a blacked-out game. Exact restrictions depend on location and broadcast rights, so check the NBA’s ZIP-code tool before purchasing.

League Pass access for NBA Cup games also depends on the stage and broadcast status. The NBA says U.S. and Canadian subscribers can watch non-nationally broadcast group-play games, subject to local blackouts; other countries may have different access.
Purchase, devices, and billing
You can purchase League Pass through NBA.com or the NBA App, and NBA support lists additional supported purchase routes, including Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, and participating TV providers. Supported viewing devices include mobile devices, desktop at NBA.com, select smart TVs and streaming players, and some game consoles; availability varies by country and model. Amazon is now a League Pass purchase and distribution option in the U.S., but that is distinct from NBA games included with Prime. A regular Prime membership does not automatically include the separately sold League Pass add-on. YouTube TV is not currently a way to buy League Pass: Google says the integration is discontinued because Amazon became the exclusive channel store for NBA and WNBA League Pass. YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, Fubo, and DIRECTV Stream can act as cable replacements for some NBA broadcasts. Their usefulness depends on your market, the exact plan, and the channels carrying your games. Verify ABC, ESPN, NBC, USA Network, and any RSN individually before subscribing; a service carrying NBA TV does not mean it carries every game.
- YouTube TV: Consider it for a broad live-TV lineup and local channels where offered. It no longer sells League Pass as an add-on.
- Hulu + Live TV: A possible fit if you also value the on-demand Hulu library and bundled services. Local ABC, NBC, and other channels vary by market; it does not replace Peacock or Prime Video exclusives.
- Sling TV: Potentially useful for cost-conscious viewers willing to accept a narrower lineup, local-channel limits, or the use of an antenna. The required plan and local ABC access affect postseason coverage. Sling’s NBA coverage guide outlines the split among ESPN, NBC, ABC, USA, Prime Video, and Peacock.
- Fubo: A sports-oriented option where the needed local and national channels are available. The NBA lists Fubo among U.S. providers for NBA TV, but that alone does not mean every national game or RSN is included.
- DIRECTV Stream: Worth checking when you need a particular RSN. RSN availability, fees, and package pricing vary by market; verify the exact network and full bill by ZIP code.
Before choosing, compare the regular monthly bill after promotions, sports add-ons, RSN fees, taxes, DVR and simultaneous-stream limits, and whether local affiliates are included. Official plan pages: YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, Fubo, and DIRECTV Stream.

Coverage combinations that make sense

Check coverage before you subscribe
- Enter your ZIP code on the NBA League Pass page and on any live-TV or RSN provider page.
- Look up the actual games and dates on the NBA schedule and note the listed broadcaster.
- Classify each game: local, nationally broadcast, or out-of-market. A single team can move between these categories during the season.
- Confirm the exact access path: channel, app, add-on, or local service. Check whether the game is exclusive to Peacock or Prime Video.
- Check blackout and replay rules, especially if you expect League Pass to show a local or national game live.
- Compare the full post-promotion cost, including add-ons, RSN fees, taxes, and required second services.
- Review device support and renewal terms before paying. Make a note of the cancellation deadline if you only need a monthly subscription.
Are free NBA streaming sites safe?
Be wary of unofficial sites promising free live NBA streams. They may distribute unauthorized broadcasts and expose visitors to malicious ads, fake play buttons, browser notification abuse, poor-quality video, or credential theft. Do not enter a streaming-service password on an unfamiliar site or install a player it prompts you to download. Legal ways to watch or follow for free can include a broadcaster’s trial offer, games available over the air in your area, official NBA highlights and clips, and radio coverage. Availability varies; a highlight or radio stream is not the same as live video access.
VPNs are not a reliable way to solve blackouts. Restrictions reflect broadcast rights, and masking your location can violate a service’s terms or trigger location-verification and account problems. Use the applicable broadcaster or wait for the permitted replay instead.
