ASUS’s Radeon RX 9060 XT retail listings were not just a rumor. ASUS officially announced four cards on May 20, 2025: a 16GB TUF Gaming model, 8GB and 16GB Prime models, and an 8GB Dual model. ASUS’s later U.S. catalog also lists a Dual 16GB variant, so the broader lineup now includes five catalog configurations, depending on region and availability.
The practical choice is straightforward: choose Dual for compact builds, Prime for a middle-ground triple-fan design, TUF Gaming for ASUS’s more substantial durability and cooling package, and 16GB when your budget and target resolution justify the extra VRAM.
What the original ASUS RX 9060 XT leak showed
Early retail listings pointed to ASUS RX 9060 XT cards spanning the company’s TUF Gaming, Prime, and Dual families. Retail listings can reveal product names, memory capacities, OC designations and regional SKUs before a formal announcement, but they do not by themselves prove that a card is shipping.

A listing may be a placeholder, a pre-launch database import, a regional SKU, or a duplicate entry. Unless a retailer shows an item as orderable and in stock, “listed” should not be treated as “available.” The original listing details should therefore be read as leak evidence, while ASUS’s subsequent announcement and product pages provide the official confirmation.

ASUS later confirmed four launch cards
ASUS announced four RX 9060 XT graphics cards on May 20, 2025, across three product families. The official announcement covered:
- TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
- Prime Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
- Prime Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB
- ASUS Dual Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB

TUF Gaming: the durability-focused option
ASUS positions the TUF Gaming RX 9060 XT 16GB as the more durability- and cooling-oriented design. ASUS lists features including a coated PCB, GPU Guard, Auto-Extreme manufacturing, axial-tech cooling and dual BIOS.
Those features describe construction, manufacturing and operating flexibility; they do not automatically prove higher gaming performance. Actual temperatures, noise levels, sustained clocks and power behavior require independent testing of the specific card.

It is less appealing for a compact build or a value-focused system if a cheaper 16GB model offers similar real-world performance.

Prime: a 2.5-slot triple-fan middle ground
The Prime RX 9060 XT is ASUS’s mainstream option in this lineup. The Prime product page describes a 2.5-slot card with three axial-tech fans, dual-ball fan bearings, dual BIOS and 0dB fan-stop behavior below its stated temperature threshold. It also supports ASUS GPU Tweak III.

Prime is the logical compromise for buyers who want a triple-fan cooler and a choice between 8GB and 16GB without moving to the TUF tier. The trade-off is physical clearance: a 2.5-slot triple-fan card may be longer or wider than a Dual card, even though both are described as 2.5-slot designs.

ASUS’s U.S. catalog showed the following price signals when retrieved in August 2026:
- Prime RX 9060 XT OC Edition 8GB: $419.99
- Prime RX 9060 XT OC Edition 16GB: $529.99

Dual: the compact-build choice
ASUS describes the RX 9060 XT Dual as a two-fan, 2.5-slot design. The launch announcement lists the Dual card at 202mm long, making it the most obviously compact-oriented option in the announced lineup.
A shorter card can solve clearance problems in small-form-factor and compact cases, but length is only one compatibility measurement. Before buying, check:

- The exact dimensions of the regional SKU
A smaller two-fan cooler may have less thermal mass than a larger triple-fan design. That does not prove it will be louder or hotter; those claims need independent measurements. The main confirmed advantage is the compact form factor.
ASUS’s current U.S. catalog showed a Dual RX 9060 XT 16GB entry in addition to the announced 8GB model. ASUS also provides an official Dual RX 9060 XT 16GB specification page.
8GB or 16GB: which capacity should you buy?
The 8GB and 16GB cards use the same RX 9060 XT GPU class. More VRAM does not automatically make a 16GB card faster, because compute performance, clock behavior and power limits still matter. The benefit is additional memory headroom.
Choose 8GB when:
- Your main target is 1080p gaming.
- The price difference is large enough to matter.
- You are willing to reduce texture quality in unusually demanding games.
- Saving money prevents a more important system compromise.
Choose 16GB when:
- You intend to play primarily at 1440p.
- You use high-resolution textures, mods or texture-heavy games.
- You expect to keep the card for several years.
- The price premium is reasonable for your budget.
There is no universal rule that 16GB will deliver a fixed percentage increase over 8GB. The difference depends on the game, resolution, texture settings, ray tracing workload and whether the 8GB card reaches a memory limit. The supplied ASUS and AMD material confirms the capacities but does not provide independent ASUS-specific benchmark results.
What the RX 9060 XT platform provides
AMD identifies the RX 9060 XT as an RDNA 4 desktop GPU. AMD’s 8GB specification page lists:

AMD markets the RX 9060 XT for 1440p gaming and highlights FSR 4 and ray tracing. FSR features still depend on compatible games and software integration; support on the GPU does not mean every game automatically includes every feature.
Partner cards do not change the RX 9060 XT’s underlying GPU architecture. ASUS differentiates its models through cooler design, dimensions, factory clock settings, BIOS modes, power behavior, acoustics, warranty terms and regional support.

When the ASUS U.S. catalog was retrieved in August 2026, it showed these store-price signals:

Prices and availability change. A card can be officially announced, listed in ASUS’s catalog, orderable through a retailer, or physically in stock—these are four different states. Confirm the country, exact SKU, memory capacity and stock status before treating a listing as a buying option.

Which ASUS RX 9060 XT should you choose?
- Lowest-cost route: Prime 8GB, but only if the price advantage is meaningful and your target is mainly 1080p.
- More VRAM headroom: Any 16GB model, provided the price fits your budget.
- Compact case: Dual, especially where the approximately 202mm launch design fits and larger cards do not.
- Premium ASUS construction: TUF Gaming, if its larger design and price premium are acceptable.
- Balanced mainstream choice: Prime 16GB, if your case supports its 2.5-slot triple-fan layout.
Do not choose purely by family name. Compare the exact SKU’s dimensions, power connector, clock settings, BIOS options, warranty and local price. AMD’s generic reference specification is not a substitute for the ASUS specification page of the card you intend to install.
Bottom line
The ASUS RX 9060 XT story has moved from retail leakage to official product availability information. ASUS confirmed four launch cards in May 2025—TUF Gaming 16GB, Prime 8GB, Prime 16GB and Dual 8GB—and its later U.S. catalog also lists a Dual 16GB model. For buyers, memory capacity and physical fit matter more than the branding alone: 16GB offers more headroom, Dual is the compact option, Prime is the middle ground, and TUF Gaming is the premium design.
