The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe is still one of the most compact ways to charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods together. Its foldable 2.5-inch cube, adjustable phone stand, genuine 15W MagSafe connection, sturdy construction, and included 30W charger make it an excellent Apple-only travel dock or nightstand charger.
But it is not the obvious choice for everyone in 2026. The original Y1811 is expensive, relatively heavy, limited to the Apple ecosystem, and now competes with Anker’s newer, cheaper Qi2 Cube. Buy the MagSafe model when certified MagSafe charging and the original design matter more than maximum flexibility or value.
What is the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe?
The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe, model Y1811, is a foldable wireless charging station with three charging positions:
- A magnetic charging surface for a compatible iPhone.
- A dedicated charging module for an Apple Watch.
- A Qi charging pad for AirPods or another compatible wireless-charging accessory.
It is not a three-port wired charger. One USB-C connection powers the wireless dock, which Anker rates at up to 15W for an iPhone, 5W for Apple Watch, and 5W for AirPods. The original model is described as “Made for MagSafe”, rather than merely MagSafe-compatible.

That distinction is important: supported iPhones can use Apple’s certified 15W MagSafe charging mode, while generic magnetic chargers may offer a different charging profile.
Design: a genuinely useful folding cube
Folded, the Cube measures approximately 2.49 × 2.3 × 2.3 inches. Raise the phone panel and deploy the Apple Watch module, and the compact block becomes a three-device charging stand. The lower Qi pad is exposed beneath the phone module, while the Watch charger folds into position.
The phone panel adjusts to approximately 60 degrees and supports both portrait and landscape orientation. That makes the Cube practical as a desk stand, bedside charger, or a compact way to view an iPhone while it charges.

It protects and consolidates the charging surfaces when folded, takes up little space in a hotel room, and replaces several separate pucks and cables. Its main design compromise is weight: at roughly 14.5 ounces, or about 410–411 grams, it is dense for its size.
That weight is useful on a desk because the station is less likely to move when a phone is attached or removed. For ultralight travel, however, a folding charging mat or single MagSafe puck will weigh considerably less.
Anker’s official specifications provide the dimensions and weight. Existing coverage, including iMore’s review, is useful for understanding the original design, but older reviews cannot establish the current price or how the Cube compares with newer Qi2 products.

iPhone charging
Anker rates the phone position for up to 15W MagSafe. That is a peak wireless charging rating, not a promise that the iPhone will continuously receive 15W from empty to full. Charging can slow as the battery fills and may reduce speed when the phone or charger becomes warm.
Anker’s current support and product pages list compatibility with the iPhone 12 family and later generations, while older support material specifically names the iPhone 12, 13, and 14 families. Check the exact product listing before buying, particularly if you own a newer iPhone or are comparing the original Y1811 with the newer Qi2 Cube.

Cases matter. A magnetic case designed for MagSafe is the safest choice. Thick, non-magnetic, metal, wallet-style, or poorly aligned cases can weaken the connection or prevent charging.
Apple Watch charging
The Watch module is rated at 5W maximum. Anker’s support information identifies Apple Watch Ultra and Series 7, 8, and 9 as generations supporting the relevant certified fast-charging capability.
Do not interpret the 5W figure as a guarantee of fast charging on every Apple Watch. The Watch itself, its generation, temperature, seating, and charging circuitry determine the actual behavior. Later generations should be checked individually rather than assumed to have the same fast-charge support.
AirPods charging
The lower pad is intended primarily for AirPods and AirPods Pro cases that support wireless charging. It can also charge other small Qi-compatible accessories, but cases that charge only through Lightning or USB-C will not charge wirelessly on this pad.
What is included?
The original retail package includes:
- The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe.
- A 30W USB-C Power Delivery wall charger.
- A 5-foot (1.5-meter) USB-C-to-USB-C cable.
- Documentation.
The included adapter improves the Cube’s value because many charging stands omit a wall charger. Verify the contents of a particular regional or refurbished package, since bundles can differ.
Anker lists input profiles including 12V/2.5A, 15V/2A, and 20V/1.5A. Its technical documentation also indicates a 100–240V, 50/60Hz adapter, which is suitable for broad mains-voltage ranges; international travelers still need a plug adapter for the destination country.

Anker’s own comparison page distinguishes the original MagSafe-certified Cube from newer Qi2 products. That distinction deserves attention because Anker’s current listings use similar “3-in-1 Cube” naming.

How usable is the stand?
The phone panel’s portrait and landscape support makes the Cube more useful than a flat charging pad. It can function as a viewing stand while charging, and the adjustable angle allows some flexibility on a desk or nightstand.

The trade-off is density. The AirPods pad sits below the raised phone panel rather than beside it, so it is less spacious than a separate flat pad. Bulky cases or accessories may make placement less convenient. The Watch module also needs to be correctly deployed and seated.
For overnight charging, the layout is efficient: place the iPhone on the magnetic panel, the Watch on its module, and the AirPods case underneath. For frequent phone interaction, the adjustable stand is more useful than a charger that forces the phone to lie flat.
Portability: compact, but not light
The Cube’s best travel comparison is not with the smallest single charger. It is with the complete kit required to charge three Apple devices: an iPhone puck, an Apple Watch charger, an AirPods pad or cable, a wall adapter, and multiple cables.

It is compact enough for travel, but not an ultralight accessory.
Frequent Apple-device travelers who value one organized charging station will appreciate the trade. Travelers who count every gram may prefer a lighter foldable Qi2 pad or separate cables.
Heat, interruptions, and indicator lights
Wireless charging speed depends on temperature, battery level, case thickness, alignment, and whether several devices are charging at once. The 15W rating should therefore be treated as a maximum specification, not a guaranteed sustained rate or a promised time to full charge.
Anker says charging may pause briefly when another device is connected or placed on the station. A short interruption can reflect power negotiation or redistribution rather than an immediate hardware fault.

- White light while charging: AirPods are charging.
- Solid orange: a metal object has been detected.
- Flashing orange: protection has been triggered for conditions such as over-voltage, under-voltage, or an incompatible adapter.
Troubleshooting charging problems
If the iPhone does not charge
- Confirm that the USB-C adapter is suitable for the Cube; test with the included adapter if possible.
- Remove thick, metal, wallet-style, or non-magnetic cases.
- Reposition the iPhone so the magnetic ring aligns correctly.
- Remove cards, metal plates, rings, or other objects between the phone and charger.
- Disconnect and reconnect the USB-C cable.
- Allow the phone and charger to cool.
- Check for orange indicator behavior.
- Inspect the cable and charging surfaces for damage, dust, or debris.
If charging pauses when another device is added
Wait a few seconds for the station to renegotiate power. If charging does not resume, remove both devices, reconnect the cable, and place the devices back one at a time.
If the Apple Watch charges slowly
Check whether the Watch generation supports the certified fast-charging mode, make sure it is seated correctly, and allow the charger to cool. Charging also naturally slows near full capacity. Do not compare the Cube with a newer fast charger solely by its 5W output figure.
Original MagSafe Cube versus newer Qi2 Cube
As checked on August 18, 2026, Anker’s US listing showed the original MagSafe Cube at $129.99, while the newer Anker 3-in-1 Cube with Qi2 was listed at $109.99. Apple’s listing showed the Qi2 version at $109.95 at the time. Prices, stock, promotions, and delivery estimates can change.

The Qi2 model is not automatically better for every iPhone owner. The original’s MagSafe certification may be the deciding factor for someone who specifically wants Apple’s branded charging standard. Conversely, Qi2 is the more sensible direction for mixed-device households or buyers who want broader compatibility.
Alternatives from Anker
Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station, Foldable 3-in-1
Anker’s foldable MagGo station is a more conventional alternative. It advertises up to 15W for the phone, 5W for Apple Watch, and 5W for earbuds, and Anker recommends its included 40W Power Delivery charger.
Its appeal is a lighter, flatter foldable design with Qi2/MagSafe compatibility. It is a better fit when portability and flexibility matter more than the Cube’s dense upright form. Its observed price was $109.99 with a temporary $30-off promotion, so do not treat that promotion as a permanent price.
Refurbished original Cube
Anker’s refurbished listing showed the original Cube at $129.99 with a 90-day warranty when checked. At that price, it was not a bargain because it matched the observed price of the new official listing. A refurbished unit becomes interesting only if its price falls meaningfully below a new one and the shorter warranty is acceptable.

- Buy it if you own an iPhone 12 or later, an Apple Watch, and wireless-charging AirPods.
- Buy it if one compact station for travel or a small nightstand matters more than the lowest price.
- Buy it if genuine MagSafe certification and the adjustable portrait/landscape stand are priorities.
- Skip it if you use Android or need broad Qi2 compatibility.
- Skip it if you want the lightest possible travel charger or multiple wired USB-C outputs.
- Skip it if you do not own all three device categories; a simpler charger will usually offer better value.
- Consider the Qi2 Cube if it is cheaper and you prefer a newer, more flexible product listing.
Verdict
The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe remains an unusually well-conceived Apple charging stand. It folds small, stands securely, provides an adjustable viewing angle, charges three Apple devices at once, and includes the power adapter many rivals omit.
Its limitations are equally clear: the 15W phone rating is a peak rather than a constant speed, Apple Watch fast charging is model-dependent, the AirPods pad is only 5W, and the roughly 410-gram body is compact but heavy. At the $129.99 price observed on August 18, 2026, the original Y1811 is a specialist purchase rather than a universal recommendation.
Buy the original Cube when you want the original compact MagSafe design and find it at a worthwhile discount. Choose the newer Qi2 Cube when it is cheaper and flexibility matters more. Choose the foldable MagGo alternative when lower weight and a flatter travel profile are the priority.
