OxygenOS 14 is OnePlus’s Android 14 update. The first OnePlus open beta began on the OnePlus 11 in India and North America on September 12, 2023. OnePlus announced the global OxygenOS 14 platform on September 25, but that was not a promise that every eligible phone would receive an update that day. The first stable rollout started for the OnePlus 11 on November 16, 2023, followed by other models through staged, region-specific over-the-air releases.

Your actual timing depended on the model, regional firmware channel, carrier status, beta stage, recruitment limits and gradual OTA rollout. Eligibility therefore did not mean simultaneous delivery—or guaranteed open-beta access.

What “Android 14 beta” means on OnePlus

Closed Beta Test

A closed beta is restricted to selected testers and is generally subject to confidentiality requirements. It is not a public download channel.

Open Beta

An open beta offers broader access but remains limited by device, region, carrier, baseline firmware, recruitment quota and available testing slots. “Open” does not mean that every owner can install it.

Stable official OTA

A stable build is the production release, but OnePlus still distributes it incrementally. Beta participants may receive it first, with wider delivery later.

Google’s Pixel Android Beta Program is separate from OnePlus’s OxygenOS beta program. A Pixel beta enrollment does not qualify a OnePlus phone for OxygenOS 14.

OnePlus OxygenOS 14 open-beta roadmap

OnePlus published the roadmap on September 18, 2023. It identified planned months and phases for additional devices; it did not establish a universal date for every model, region or variant. Secondary summaries placed devices such as the OnePlus 11R, 10 Pro, 10T, Pad and Nord 3 in the October phase, with additional OnePlus 9, 8T, 10R, Nord 2T, Nord CE 3 and Nord CE 2 Lite models appearing later. Treat those as summaries of the original plan, not delivery guarantees. See the official Open Beta timeline, alongside summaries from Android Central and Gadgets 360.

Regional and carrier restrictions

The first OnePlus 11 open beta covered India and North America. The first Nord 3 and OnePlus Pad announcements covered India only. European and global variants were not automatically included when those builds opened.

India, North America, Europe and global channels can use different firmware. Carrier editions can also be excluded even when an unlocked version of the same model qualifies. The OnePlus 11 notice specifically identified T-Mobile and Verizon variants as incompatible with that open beta. Check the device-specific notice for your model rather than relying on the model name alone.

How to apply for an OxygenOS 14 beta

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap About device.
  3. Open Up to date or the current software-version panel.
  4. Tap the icon in the upper-right corner.
  5. Select Beta program and follow the application instructions.
  6. After enrollment or approval, check for updates through the normal system-updater screen.

Labels can vary by OxygenOS build and region. For the OnePlus 11 Open Beta 1, OnePlus required more than 30% battery, at least 4 GB of free storage, a supported regional/model variant and a specified baseline OxygenOS version. India’s initial recruitment quota was 5,000 users; applications were reviewed after recruitment closed. The listed India baselines included CPH2447_13.1.0.590(EX01) and CPH2447_13.1.0.591(EX01). Should you install the beta?

Your situation Recommendation
Secondary phone, full backup and comfortable troubleshooting Consider the beta
Primary work, banking, medical or travel phone Wait for stable
Carrier model Verify compatibility before applying
No backup or rollback plan Do not install
Outside the stated beta region Wait for an official regional announcement

Before enrollment, back up photos, messages, authenticator data, documents and app data. Confirm the exact model and region, read the known-issues list, charge the phone, free the required storage and avoid beta software for high-stakes tasks. Open-beta software can contain crashes, battery drain, compatibility problems or missing functions.

If the update is missing

  1. Verify the exact model number, region and carrier status.
  2. Check the installed OxygenOS version against the device-specific requirement.
  3. Confirm that the beta was announced for your market.
  4. Check whether recruitment or the regional quota has closed.
  5. Allow time for staged OTA expansion if stable release has begun.
  6. Do not sideload a package intended for another regional channel.

A September 25 launch announcement does not mean that a missing notification is an error. Stable releases were sent in waves, often beginning with beta participants.

Rollback and recovery

Rollback packages and procedures are device- and region-specific. Downgrading may erase user data, so locate the official instructions for the exact model and software channel before installing the beta. OnePlus’s downgrade index explains the importance of selecting the matching regional package: OnePlus downgrade and OxygenOS 14 status index.

Assume a downgrade can wipe the phone unless the official instructions explicitly say otherwise. Do not use a package from another region or rely on unofficial file-sharing links and flashing procedures.

The Bottom Line

OnePlus announced OxygenOS 14 globally on September 25, 2023, but beta and stable availability followed a staggered schedule. The OnePlus 11 open beta began September 12, and its stable rollout began November 16; every other device required separate confirmation by model, region, carrier and rollout stage.
