Deal status: This was a historical U.S. deal from November 2024, not a currently verified August 2026 promotion. Tom’s Guide reported Amazon’s price at $1,496, or $1,200 below the $2,699 reference price. TechRadar later reported the same TV at $1,394, while an expired November 2025 listing reached $1,179.99. Check the live Amazon listing before assuming any of those prices are still available.
What the early Black Friday deal included
The deal covered the 65-inch LG OLED evo C4, model OLED65C4PUA. Tom’s Guide reported an Amazon price of $1,496 against LG’s listed $2,699.99 reference price, describing the reduction as $1,200. That was a substantial discount, but it was not the lowest documented price for this model.
TechRadar subsequently reported a $1,394 price and called it a record low at the time. Tom’s Guide also noted that the TV had previously fallen to $1,396 on Black Friday. These rapidly changing prices show why the original “$1,200 off” headline should be treated as a dated deal report rather than a permanent price claim.

Why the LG C4 was appealing
The C4 uses an OLED panel with more than 8.3 million self-lit pixels. Because each pixel can switch off independently, OLED delivers exceptionally deep blacks and strong contrast, making it especially attractive for films and HDR streaming.
According to LG’s specifications, the TV includes the Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen7, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Filmmaker Mode, webOS, LG Channels, and support for up to five years of software updates through LG’s webOS Re:New program.
It was also a strong gaming display. The set has four HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR, ALLM, and support for 4K gaming at up to 120Hz. LG lists 144Hz support for compatible PC input. Those figures are not contradictory: the television is generally marketed as a 120Hz native-display-class TV, while 144Hz refers to supported PC input modes and requires compatible hardware and settings.

Tom’s Guide reported accurate colors, improved brightness compared with the C3, and a measured 9.2ms latency in Game Optimizer Boost mode. LG also lists NVIDIA G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, and a 0.1ms response-time specification; the latter is a manufacturer claim, not a universal real-world measurement.

Why buyers should hesitate
- It is an older generation: LG’s current C4 page warns that a newer model is available. A C4 still makes sense when it is substantially cheaper, but a small discount may not justify choosing the older product cycle.
- Average built-in audio: Tom’s Guide described the speakers as average. Budget for a soundbar if you want more convincing dialogue, bass, or Dolby Atmos effects.
- No ATSC 3.0 tuner: Antenna users seeking over-the-air 4K broadcasts may need an external tuner or another television.
- OLED usage considerations: Prolonged, repetitive static elements—such as desktop taskbars, news tickers, or persistent game HUDs—can increase the risk of image retention or burn-in over time. This is an ownership consideration, not evidence of a defect in a particular deal unit.
- Reference-price ambiguity: “$1,200 off” was calculated from a displayed reference price. It does not mean $1,496 was the lowest historical price or that $2,699.99 was the price most shoppers normally paid.

An expired Slickdeals listing recorded the same model at $1,179.99 on November 27, 2025. That is useful historical context, but it does not establish current availability or an August 2026 price.
What to check on Amazon before ordering
- Confirm the model number is OLED65C4PUA, not a different size, series, or regional variant.
- Check that the condition is new—not renewed, used, or open-box.
- Review the exact “Sold by” and “Ships from” information. The available historical coverage does not establish whether Amazon, LG, or a marketplace seller fulfilled the deal.
- Read the warranty terms and confirm that the seller and unit qualify for the manufacturer’s U.S. coverage. Imported or unauthorized units may have different support terms.
- Check the return window and large-item return process before purchase.
- Inspect the box at delivery and report visible damage promptly. Confirm whether room-of-choice delivery, installation, or wall mounting is actually included; LG’s installation language for its own promotions does not automatically apply to Amazon.
- Remember that tax, delivery fees, protection plans, installation, and checkout-specific coupons can change the final cost.
Alternatives worth comparing
Newer LG C-series: This is the most direct alternative. It offers a newer product cycle and potentially newer processing, but the premium should be reasonable compared with a deeply discounted C4.

LG B-series: The B-series can cost less and may suit buyers prioritizing OLED blacks over peak brightness and processing. LG’s 2024 announcement promoted a 65-inch B4 at $1,199, not a 65-inch C4.

Mini-LED or QLED: These may be better choices for very bright rooms, heavy daytime viewing, or households concerned about prolonged static content. They can differ from OLED in black levels and viewing angles.
