Pre-launch Amazon listings reportedly revealed two XFX Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics cards in May 2025: an 8 GB model listed at $449.99 and a 16 GB model listed at $519.99. Both were shown with a claimed boost clock of up to 3,320 MHz, but AMD later confirmed much lower official starting prices of $299 and $349 respectively.
The listings were useful evidence that XFX planned both memory configurations, not reliable confirmation of final pricing. AMD’s subsequent announcement also specified lower reference boost clocks and different power targets.

Guru3D reported the Amazon listings on May 12, 2025, while Tom’s Hardware had also reported retailer listings beginning at roughly $450. The listings suggested that XFX was preparing both 8 GB and 16 GB cards, with the larger-capacity version receiving a more substantial triple-fan cooler.
However, a retailer listing is not the same as a manufacturer announcement. The reported 3,320 MHz figure should be treated as an XFX board-partner or preliminary listing claim, rather than a clock speed shared by every RX 9060 XT.

Why the reported prices were surprising
The $449.99 8 GB listing was $150 above AMD’s later $299 official starting price. The $519.99 16 GB listing was $170 above AMD’s $349 starting price.
That difference means the Amazon figures should not be described as the RX 9060 XT’s final MSRP. Possible explanations included placeholder pricing, marketplace-seller pricing, early launch premiums, uncertainty about supply or tariffs, or a simple listing error. The cards may also have been factory-overclocked partner designs carrying a premium over AMD’s suggested entry price.

The leaked 16 GB price would also have placed the card in a difficult position against the historically reported $429 MSRP of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. AMD’s eventual $349 starting price materially changed that value comparison.
What AMD confirmed later
On May 20, 2025, AMD officially announced the Radeon RX 9060 XT in both 8 GB and 16 GB versions. Availability was set for June 5, 2025.

AMD’s official figures list a 2.53 GHz game clock and boost speeds up to 3.13 GHz. That is lower than the 3.32 GHz reported in the XFX listings, reinforcing the distinction between AMD’s reference specification and a possible factory-overclocked partner model.

The RX 9060 XT also supports a PCIe 5 x16 interface, DisplayPort 2.1a, HDMI 2.1b, and AMD’s FSR 4 upscaling technology. AMD lists support for Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11, and Linux x86-64.

Dual-fan versus triple-fan XFX designs
The reported dual-fan 8 GB card could be a better fit for a compact case because it may be shorter and lighter. The triple-fan 16 GB design may provide more cooling capacity or support a higher factory overclock, but it is more likely to require additional case space.

Those are design implications, not test results. A triple-fan card is not automatically quieter or cooler, and cooling performance depends on the exact heatsink, fan curve, power limit, case airflow, and ambient temperature.
XFX’s later lineup included multiple families and variants, including SWIFT 16 GB, an 8 GB SWIFT white edition, and the more premium MERCURY 16 GB. Buyers should not assume that all XFX RX 9060 XT cards share the same dimensions, connector, cooler, or clock.
8 GB or 16 GB: which version makes sense?
Choose 8 GB for a tightly controlled budget
The 8 GB card is best framed as a lower-cost 1080p option. It can make sense for a budget build when its price is substantially below the 16 GB model and the buyer is comfortable reducing texture settings in demanding games.

Its limitation is memory capacity, not necessarily raw GPU speed. Newer games, high-resolution textures, ray tracing, mods, and longer ownership periods can push beyond what 8 GB comfortably provides. The leaked $449.99 price would therefore have made the card particularly unattractive.
Choose 16 GB for more headroom
The 16 GB version is the more sensible long-term gaming configuration. Its additional VRAM provides more room for high-resolution textures, 1440p gaming, ray tracing, mods, and future releases. It does not automatically double performance: extra memory helps when capacity is the bottleneck, while shader-limited workloads may run at similar speeds.
Tom’s Hardware’s 16 GB review described the card as offering strong value and ample VRAM, while also highlighting why the 8 GB version’s capacity can be restrictive.

What to check before buying an XFX card
- Confirm whether the exact SKU has 8 GB or 16 GB of VRAM.
- Check the product page for card length, thickness, and occupied slots.
- Verify the required PCIe power connector and recommended power-supply capacity. AMD’s reference 8 GB specification lists one 8-pin connector, but partner-board requirements can differ.
- Check motherboard clearance and whether the card blocks adjacent expansion slots.
- Compare the exact factory-overclocked model’s clock and price with other RX 9060 XT cards.
- Confirm display outputs, operating-system support, warranty coverage, seller reputation, return terms, and stock status.
Do not use the May 2025 Amazon figures as current pricing. They were early listing prices, and current prices vary by region, retailer, seller, availability, and date. AMD’s $299 and $349 figures were official starting prices, not a guarantee that every premium XFX card would sell at those amounts.
Verdict
The Amazon leak got the important part right: XFX was preparing RX 9060 XT cards with both 8 GB and 16 GB of memory. It also revealed likely differences in cooling and suggested a 3,320 MHz boost claim.
Its biggest detail—the $449.99 and $519.99 prices—did not represent AMD’s final official pricing. AMD later confirmed $299 for 8 GB and $349 for 16 GB, making the 16 GB model the stronger choice for buyers seeking longer useful life, while the 8 GB card remained aimed at lower-cost 1080p systems.
