The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9060 XT OC 16GB was a genuine graphics card, but the original “leak ahead of AMD’s Computex reveal” framing is now historical. AMD announced the Radeon RX 9060 XT on May 20, 2025, and Acer officially unveiled its Nitro models on May 21. The 16GB card, model AN-RX9060XT-16G-OCC, features Acer-listed boost and game clocks of up to 3,320 MHz and 2,780 MHz respectively, plus 182W board power.
Acer announced June 2025 EMEA availability at a starting price of €649.99. That is not directly comparable with AMD’s U.S. $349 suggested launch price for the RX 9060 XT 16GB, and it makes the card’s value heavily dependent on local street pricing.
The leak was genuine, but the timeline has changed
Before Computex 2025, reports pointed to an Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9060 XT OC with 16GB of memory. Acer later confirmed the product officially, so the central claim—that Acer was preparing such a card—was correct.
However, the available evidence does not establish every detail from the original leak, nor does it clearly identify an independently verifiable original retailer listing, packaging leak, or complete specification sheet. The safest conclusion is that the product itself was real, while individual pre-launch claims should not automatically be treated as confirmed.

AMD announced the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex on May 20, 2025. Acer followed with its official announcement on May 21, 2025, during Computex, which ran from May 20 to May 23. The card should therefore now be described as a confirmed product rather than an upcoming leak.
AMD’s announcement and Acer’s confirmation provide the official launch timeline.

Acer also announced a visually similar 8GB model, the AN-RX9060XT-8G-OCC. Buyers should check the full model number because “Acer Nitro RX 9060 XT OC” can refer to more than one memory configuration. Acer’s U.S. product page also lists a white 16GB edition with 32 compute units, 32 ray accelerators, and 64 AI accelerators.

AMD lists the RX 9060 XT 16GB with 32 compute units, a 2.53 GHz game clock, boost speeds of up to 3.13 GHz, a 128-bit memory interface, 32MB of Infinity Cache, and a starting total board power of 160W. AMD’s U.S. suggested launch price was $349 for the 16GB version and $299 for the 8GB model.
Acer’s advertised 3.32 GHz boost clock is roughly 6% higher than AMD’s 3.13 GHz figure, while its 182W board rating is also higher. That identifies the Nitro as a factory-overclocked board-partner implementation, not a reference-clock card.

Those figures do not mean the card will be 6% faster in games. Boost clocks are maximum advertised values; sustained clocks depend on the workload, temperature, power limit, firmware, drivers, and cooling. A factory-overclocked card generally offers some extra out-of-box performance, but it can also use more power and potentially produce more heat or noise.
A specification inconsistency to watch
Acer’s press-release table includes a “20 Cores” entry, while AMD’s official RX 9060 XT specification identifies the GPU as having 32 compute units. Acer’s wording may reflect inconsistent terminology or a table error, but the supplied sources do not confirm which. It should not be silently rewritten as 32 CUs; buyers should treat AMD’s official GPU specification as the authoritative reference for the underlying RX 9060 XT.
Features Acer advertises
Acer markets the card around RDNA 4, hardware ray tracing, AI accelerators, AMD HYPR-RX, FSR 4 upscaling and frame generation in supported games, AMD’s Radiance Display Engine, 8K output, dual axial fans, an aluminum backplate, and a non-flex design.
These are capabilities or design claims, not guaranteed performance results. “8K” describes display-output support and does not mean demanding games will run at 8K resolution with high settings. FSR 4 and frame generation require compatible games and software, and their image quality and latency characteristics vary by title. Acer describes the cooler, but the available evidence does not provide independent noise or temperature measurements for this exact model.
What 16GB means for gaming
The 16GB version has twice the VRAM of the 8GB RX 9060 XT. Independent testing found that 8GB can become a limitation in some modern games, particularly at higher resolutions and settings. More memory gives the 16GB card additional headroom for high-resolution textures and can reduce the risk of texture compromises or VRAM-related stutter.

That does not turn the RX 9060 XT into a high-end 4K GPU. Rendering performance remains the main limitation in demanding 4K workloads. The more defensible use case is 1080p and 1440p gaming, with 16GB making the card better suited to ultra settings and longer-term ownership.
Performance context: RX 9060 XT versus RTX 5060 Ti
Independent reviews of other RX 9060 XT partner cards provide useful platform context, but they do not prove how this Acer model performs. Its cooler, BIOS, power limit, sustained clocks, noise, and temperatures may differ.
TechSpot’s testing found virtually identical 1440p conventional gaming performance between the RX 9060 XT 16GB and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB in its test suite. The RX 9060 XT was about 20% slower in that review’s aggregate ray-tracing testing. TechSpot also found the Radeon particularly compelling near its $350 launch price, while its value advantage narrowed as pricing approached $430.
Tom’s Hardware reported early retail availability around $389 during its launch review period, above AMD’s $349 figure. Those are launch-period results and should not be confused with a current 2026 street price or with a direct test of Acer’s Nitro card.

Do not convert €649.99 into a supposed U.S. MSRP. Regional taxes, distribution, currency, retailer margins, and product positioning can all affect the final price. The supplied sources do not establish a verified U.S. launch price or a current August 2026 retail price for the Acer model.
Who should consider the Acer card?
- 1440p gamers: The RX 9060 XT platform is aimed at mainstream 1440p gaming, and 16GB provides useful texture-memory headroom.
- White-build owners: The white edition may suit a light-colored system, provided its dimensions fit the case.
- Buyers who value a two-slot design: At 269 × 110 × 44 mm, the card is not unusually large, but clearance should still be checked.
- AMD feature users: RDNA 4 features, HYPR-RX, and FSR 4 can be useful in compatible games.
It is a weaker choice for buyers who prioritize ray tracing, CUDA-dependent applications, or creator software optimized for Nvidia. It is also a poor purchase if it carries a large premium over cheaper RX 9060 XT 16GB cards without offering independently demonstrated cooling, acoustics, warranty, or build-quality advantages.
How much should you pay?
Near the RX 9060 XT 16GB class’s $349 launch price, the Acer card could be attractive if its cooler, appearance, warranty, and availability justify a modest premium. Around $400, compare it directly with the cheapest RX 9060 XT 16GB cards and the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. Well above $400, the extra clock speed alone is unlikely to justify a substantial markup.
The key buying checks are the exact 16GB model number, local price, warranty, case clearance, and whether the card’s cooler matters to your build. Do not choose it solely because Acer lists a 3,320 MHz boost clock.

The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9060 XT OC 16GB leak was real, and Acer later confirmed the card as model AN-RX9060XT-16G-OCC. It offers 16GB of VRAM, a factory-overclocked 3.32 GHz boost specification, a dual-fan two-slot cooler, and 182W board power. But the original pre-Computex framing is outdated, Acer’s €649.99 EMEA price is far above AMD’s $349 U.S. launch reference, and no exact-model independent testing is established here. Buy it only when the local price and cooler justify the premium over other RX 9060 XT 16GB cards.
