Yes—you can often access a Samsung Account without the original phone. Sign in from a computer or another browser, then complete Samsung’s required two-step verification with the registered phone number, another Galaxy device already signed in, a backup code, or a previously enrolled authenticator app. An email address and password alone do not universally bypass two-step verification.
The exact labels and recovery options can vary by country, account age, device and software version. Start with the scenario that matches your situation.

Sign in from a computer
Open the official Samsung Account sign-in page in a browser, enter your email address and password, and follow the verification prompt. A PC, Mac or non-Samsung browser does not remove two-step verification; it only gives you another place to complete it.

- Choose the available verification method.
- Enter the code or approve the notification.
- If offered, decide whether to trust or remain signed in on that computer.
- After entry, open Security settings and add replacement recovery methods.

If you still have the phone number
The code is tied to the registered number, not necessarily to the original handset. Put the SIM in a compatible replacement phone, restore the eSIM through your carrier, or otherwise use a handset that can receive SMS. Then request the text code during browser sign-in.
A disconnected number cannot receive Samsung’s message. SIM replacement, number porting and eSIM restoration are carrier procedures, not Samsung Account recovery. Never give a verification code to a caller, text sender or supposed “recovery service.”
Use another Galaxy device already signed in
Samsung can send a notification or code to another Galaxy phone or tablet associated with the same account.

- Enter the account email and password.
- Choose the option resembling Galaxy device notification or Send code to your devices.
- On the signed-in Galaxy device, approve the notification or read the displayed code.
- Enter the code in the browser and finish signing in.
Labels differ by region and software version. An arbitrary Samsung TV, appliance or unregistered device should not be expected to receive the prompt.

Use a backup code
Backup codes are single-use alternatives to SMS and device notifications. Search printed papers, password-manager notes, screenshots or offline files for codes you saved earlier.
- At the verification screen, select Didn’t get the verification code?
- Choose Verify with backup code.
- Enter one unused code.
- Complete the sign-in, then generate and store a new set from two-step-verification settings.
Each code works once. Samsung generally lets you view or generate codes from an authenticated device or session; a completely locked-out account cannot normally create new ones.
Use an authenticator app you enrolled earlier
If Samsung Account was previously added to Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or another compatible app, choose the authenticator option and enter the current one-time password. Microsoft documents its app at Microsoft Authenticator; Google explains setup and offline code generation at Google Authenticator help.
Installing an app after lockout does not create a valid Samsung code. The Samsung Account entry must have been enrolled beforehand, or added during another authenticated Samsung session. Restoring codes also depends on the authenticator’s own backup or transfer setup.

Try one-time email verification—but do not assume it is a bypass
Some accounts show Verify with one-time email. Samsung says the emailed code expires after five minutes.
- Choose Verify with one-time email on the sign-in screen.
- Retrieve the code from the Samsung Account email inbox.
- Enter it within five minutes.
- Approve a follow-up notification on a Galaxy device if Samsung requests one.
Email access is therefore a possible route, not a universal replacement for two-step verification. If no signed-in Galaxy device, number, backup code or authenticator is available, another recovery path may still be required.
If your phone number changed
When you can still sign in
- Sign in through a browser.
- Open Security and re-enter the password if prompted.
- Under Password and security, open Two-step verification.
- Select Text message, then Edit personal information.
- Add and verify the new number with Samsung’s code.
When you cannot receive the old number’s code
- Continue sign-in until the verification-code screen.
- Select Didn’t get the verification code?.
- Select Need to change your phone number?.
- Enter the complete old number, including country code (US numbers use country code 1), and submit.
Samsung says this review can take up to two weeks. An incorrectly entered number can prevent another attempt for 30 minutes. Do not submit repeated requests: a new request resets the waiting period. See Samsung’s phone-number change instructions.
If you forgot the password or email
Forgotten password
Use Samsung’s password-reset page. Depending on the account, Samsung may request the account email, full phone number, email or text verification, security-question answers or date of birth. Reset links are valid for 30 minutes; an expired link requires a new reset request. Changing the password does not necessarily remove the two-step-verification requirement.

Forgotten Samsung Account email
Use Samsung’s Find ID function or contact support. You can also search old Samsung receipts and account notices, password-manager entries, browser password stores, and Samsung Cloud or Galaxy settings on another signed-in device. These searches help identify the address but are not guaranteed recovery methods. Samsung’s account guidance is at Samsung Account support.
If no recovery method remains
If you have none of the registered number, signed-in Galaxy devices, backup codes, authenticator access or usable recovery information, Samsung’s self-service tools may not provide immediate access. Contact official Samsung Support and be prepared to verify ownership. Do not pay third-party “Samsung recovery” services, share passwords or send verification codes.

- Do not factory-reset or sign out of a remaining Galaxy device before checking for recovery options.
- Do not delete an authenticator app that may contain your Samsung entry.
- Do not remove every trusted device until a replacement method works.
- Do not repeatedly submit phone-number-change requests.
- Do not assume a password reset bypasses two-step verification.
Secure the account after recovery
- Change the password if the phone was lost or stolen.
- Confirm the account email and update the phone number.
- Enroll an authenticator app and generate fresh backup codes.
- Store codes offline or in a password manager independent of the lost phone.
- Review trusted devices and remove devices you no longer control. Samsung defines a trusted device as one that can sign in with the password without completing verification each time; status can change after security events.
- Review Samsung services and device lists for unfamiliar activity.
- Use SmartThings Find where the linked device is eligible, powered and online.
Access to a Samsung service is not always the same as access to its data
Once signed in, you may reach Samsung Cloud, SmartThings, SmartThings Find, Samsung Pass, Galaxy Store, Samsung Health, Samsung Members or TV and appliance services. Visibility and data depend on the linked device, encryption, service availability, region and device status. Regaining the account does not guarantee that every service will immediately show every item.

Can I log in to Samsung Account from a laptop?

Can I receive Samsung’s code by email?
Some accounts offer a five-minute one-time email code. Samsung may still require approval on a signed-in Galaxy device.
Can Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator recover my account?
Only if Samsung Account was enrolled in that app before lockout or during another authenticated session.
What if I lost the phone but still have its number?
Receive SMS on a replacement handset or restored SIM/eSIM, then enter the code in the browser.
How long does a changed-number request take?
Samsung says the formal review can take up to two weeks. Resubmitting restarts that period.
Can I bypass Samsung two-step verification?
There is no legitimate universal bypass. Use an approved second factor or Samsung’s official recovery process.
Can I recover Samsung Cloud without the phone?
You can sign in through the web if you complete verification, but the data visible afterward depends on service and device conditions.
What if I have no backup codes?
Try the registered number, another signed-in Galaxy device, an enrolled authenticator or Samsung’s recovery process. Support may be necessary if none exists.
