Roundcube is a webmail application, not an email-hosting company. The providers below either include a preconfigured Roundcube mailbox with hosting or offer infrastructure where you can deploy it yourself. For most small businesses, freelancers and nonprofits, managed cPanel hosting is simpler than operating a mail server on a VPS.
Prices and availability change frequently; the figures shown were published by providers in August 2026 and should be rechecked at checkout.
What “Roundcube hosting” actually means
Roundcube is the browser interface. Your mailbox is stored on an IMAP server, while SMTP handles sending. The host may also operate Postfix, Exim or another mail-transfer system, DNS, spam filtering, backups and the website itself. Roundcube can therefore be included with managed hosting, supplied through cPanel, or installed by you on a VPS connected to an existing IMAP/SMTP stack.
The Roundcube project says end users should contact their hosting provider or administrator because “somebody installed” the software for them: Roundcube support. Roundcube itself does not create mailboxes or solve deliverability.

The best Roundcube hosts
1. KnownHost — best overall for supported Roundcube hosting
KnownHost has a dedicated Roundcube hosting page with cPanel, email accounts, spam tools, SSL and free setup or migration assistance. Published allowances are five mailboxes on Basic, 25 on Standard, and unlimited accounts on Professional and Premium.
At the time cited, Basic started at $6.71 per month and renewed at $8.95; Standard was $9.71/$12.95, Professional $14.96/$19.95 and Premium $29.96/$39.95. The page also shows lower rates tied to longer commitments, so check the billing term.
Choose it if: you want a provider that explicitly targets Roundcube users and can help move an existing account. Watch for: higher pricing than mass-market introductory hosting and the absence of independent deliverability testing.
2. InMotion Hosting — best documentation and cPanel workflow
InMotion states that Roundcube is the default webmail client on its cPanel accounts. Its webmail login guide documents example.com/webmail, webmail.example.com and, where supported, port 2096. Log in with the full email address and mailbox password, not necessarily your hosting-account credentials. Additional tutorials cover folders, filters, contacts, identities and signatures: Roundcube webmail documentation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteInMotion also notes that a 2026 cPanel update removed the legacy Larry theme: update notice. Screenshots from older guides may not match the current interface.
Rank #2
Choose it if: you value clear support material and conventional cPanel email. Watch for: shared infrastructure and plan-specific mailbox, storage and renewal limits.
3. HostGator — best conventional shared hosting
HostGator’s shared-hosting page lists Horde and RoundCube, POP3/SMTP, IMAP, SpamAssassin, unlimited aliases, autoresponders and forwards, up to 25 mailing lists, 24/7 support and weekly off-site backups. Its webmail settings guide explains filters, forwarding and autoresponders.
Choose it if: you want website and email in one familiar shared account. Watch for: exact mailbox storage, sending limits, renewal pricing and whether advertised backups include individual mailboxes.

4. Bluehost — best for beginners in its ecosystem
Bluehost’s Roundcube article covers shared, VPS and dedicated hosting, including composing HTML or plain-text messages and managing contacts. The wording supports Roundcube use, but “can install” is not the same as proving identical preconfigured access on every plan.
Choose it if: you already use Bluehost and want its mainstream support ecosystem. Watch for: confirming whether your selected plan supplies Roundcube automatically or expects server configuration.
5. Namecheap — best budget domain-and-hosting bundle
Namecheap confirms that cPanel hosting email uses Roundcube. Its key distinction is between cPanel email and Namecheap Private Email, a separate product with different storage, collaboration, mailbox and attachment policies. Shared hosting information is published at Namecheap shared hosting, where basic pricing was advertised from about $2.28 per month.
Choose it if: you want domain registration, website hosting and cPanel mail together. Watch for: selecting the wrong product; Private Email is not the same Roundcube-based cPanel service.
6. InterServer — best for monthly billing and migration
InterServer’s cPanel hosting page lists mailboxes, forwarders, autoresponders, filters, DNS, SSL/TLS and free migration from another cPanel provider. The displayed pricing was $2.50 for the first month, then $8 per month; six months was $15 with $48 renewal, and 12 months was $30 with $96 renewal.
The reviewed page confirms cPanel email functionality but does not establish a dedicated Roundcube product page. Confirm the current webmail client before purchase.
Choose it if: monthly billing and a cPanel migration matter most. Watch for: verifying Roundcube specifically, plus mailbox storage and sending limits.
7. Hostinger VPS — best for technical self-hosters
Hostinger’s Roundcube application page correctly describes Roundcube as an IMAP webmail client, not a mail server. Its displayed KVM plans ranged from 1 to 8 vCPU cores, 4–32 GB RAM, 50–400 GB NVMe storage and 4–16 TB bandwidth. KVM 1 was shown at $6.49 per month promotional and $11.99 renewal on a two-year term.
You remain responsible for the mail-transfer agent, IMAP, SMTP authentication, DNS, TLS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, spam controls, backups, abuse monitoring, reverse DNS and IP reputation.
Choose it if: you administer Linux services and need control. Avoid it if: you expect managed mailboxes or hands-off security.
8. IONOS — best for administrators deploying their own stack
IONOS offers email and server products and links to documentation for installing Postfix, Dovecot and Roundcube: IONOS email-server information. A 50 GB email-account offer was displayed at $3 per month on a three-year term, reduced from $6.
This does not prove that ordinary IONOS hosted email uses Roundcube. Treat IONOS as infrastructure for experienced administrators unless the exact plan confirms the client.

How to choose
- Pick managed cPanel hosting when you want mailbox creation, updates and troubleshooting handled for you.
- Pick a VPS only when you can maintain a complete mail stack and monitor reputation and abuse.
- Use dedicated business email when synchronization, compliance, collaboration or deliverability matters more than Roundcube. Consider Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Fastmail, Proton Mail for Business or Zoho Mail.
- Separate website and email providers if a hosting suspension would create unacceptable business risk.
What to compare before buying
- Mailbox count, per-mailbox storage, total account storage and attachment limits.
- Aliases, forwarding, catch-all addresses and mailing-list limits.
- SPF, DKIM, DMARC, reverse DNS, outbound limits and shared-IP reputation.
- Spam and malware filtering, abuse policy and suspension procedures.
- Whether backups include mailboxes, retention period and single-mailbox restoration.
- Migration scope, DNS assistance and whether support is available around the clock.
- Promotional price, billing term, renewal price, tax and paid backup or management add-ons.
Setup checklist for managed cPanel hosting
- Point your domain’s DNS to the host and confirm the required MX records.
- Create the mailbox in cPanel and publish or verify SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
- Open
example.com/webmail,webmail.example.comor the provider’s documented URL. - Sign in with the complete email address and mailbox password; select Roundcube if more than one client appears.
- Send a message to an external address, reply to it, test attachments and check spam-folder behavior.
- Configure forwarding, recovery contacts and a separate backup or export procedure.
VPS deployment: the responsibilities you cannot skip
A safe installation depends on the operating-system version, Roundcube release, PHP, database, web server, MTA, IMAP server, TLS tooling and provider networking. Do not copy a generic command sequence without matching those versions. Before accepting mail, configure DNS authentication, encrypted connections, backups, patching, monitoring, reverse DNS and abuse controls.
Why website uptime does not prove email reliability
Mail can fail while a website remains online. Common causes include incorrect MX records, missing SPF/DKIM/DMARC, a blocklisted shared IP, a full mailbox, disabled SMTP authentication, exceeded sending limits, abuse suspension or incomplete DNS propagation. Shared hosting is inexpensive but offers less isolation and control than a dedicated mail service.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Roundcube free?
The Roundcube software is open source, but you still pay for the mailbox server, storage, DNS, security and support that make it usable.
Can I use Roundcube without website hosting?
Yes. Roundcube needs an IMAP/SMTP mailbox, not a website. You can obtain email separately or deploy Roundcube on a server connected to another mail provider.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Can Roundcube work with Gmail or Microsoft 365?
Only when the provider permits the required IMAP and SMTP access and authentication method. Check current provider policies before attempting a connection.
Should business email and website hosting be separate?
Often. Separation reduces the chance that a website suspension or server problem takes business mail offline, although it may add DNS and billing complexity.
The Bottom Line
For the least operational work, start with KnownHost or InMotion Hosting. HostGator, Bluehost and Namecheap suit conventional shared hosting, while InterServer is attractive for monthly billing. Choose Hostinger VPS or IONOS only if you are prepared to operate the entire mail system—not just the Roundcube interface.
