The biggest publicly promoted price in this list is TSM’s $50 million esports facility; the highest current listed price for a single gaming-oriented PC is £54,888.88 for the 8Pack Supernova MK3. They are not the same kind of purchase. One is a professional facility, while the other is a single workstation-class computer.
There is no authoritative global record of the most expensive gaming setups ever, and private custom rooms often have no disclosed price. This ranking compares unusually costly examples with public prices, labels what each price covers, and keeps figures in their original currencies. Prices are advertised or listed amounts, not necessarily final invoices.
How these expensive setups are ranked
A “gaming setup” can mean a tower and peripherals, a fully built room, a streaming studio, or an esports facility. Those categories cannot be compared as if they were equivalent. The list includes a facility because it is the largest publicly promoted figure, then four unusually expensive individual PCs. Each entry identifies its category and the limits of what its price establishes.
- Price evidence: retailer listings and announcements from the builder, manufacturer, or organization take precedence over estimates based on visible equipment.
- Scope: a PC price is not assumed to include displays, furniture, room construction, or installation; a facility figure is not treated as a hardware bill.
- Confidence: high means a seller or builder published the price; medium means the figure is a public promotional claim rather than an independently audited total.
1. TSM’s $50 million Los Angeles esports facility
TSM publicly promoted its Los Angeles esports center as a $50 million facility. That makes it the largest figure in this ranking, but it is a commercial esports operation—not one person’s gaming room or a single computer. TSM’s public post is the basis for the figure; it does not provide an independently audited budget or a line-item breakdown.

A facility-scale investment can encompass far more than gaming PCs: building or leasehold improvements, multiple practice stations, networking, broadcast production, offices, coaching and meeting spaces, security, and visitor areas. The public claim does not establish how much went to any one category, or whether the number represents a final cost rather than a promoted project value. It should be read as TSM’s stated figure, not a verified construction invoice.
2. 8Pack Supernova MK3: £54,888.88
For a single machine, the strongest listed price here is £54,888.88 including UK VAT. Overclockers UK’s product listing marks this configuration out of stock and warns that volatile RAM costs may affect pricing. It is a listed price, not evidence that a system sold at that amount or is currently available to order.
The listed specification pairs an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX with seven NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs, 512GB of DDR5 memory configurable up to 1TB, and 24TB of storage. The builder describes bespoke water cooling with custom blocks, pumps, distribution plates, and three EK radiators, plus two 3,000-watt 80 Plus Platinum power supplies. 8Pack’s specification announcement also describes Windows and Linux options and a 4U server form factor.
Why seven GPUs do not mean seven times the gaming performance
This is a workstation-class system sold for gaming alongside content creation, AI, simulation, and other intensive workloads. A game has to support multi-GPU rendering to benefit from multiple cards, and many modern games do not use several GPUs effectively. Seven flagship GPUs can provide enormous parallel compute capacity for suitable workloads, but the count alone says little about frame rates in a particular game.

The machine’s size, electrical demands, heat output, and complexity also make it unlike a conventional gaming desktop. For gaming alone, a powerful single-GPU PC is generally a more sensible purchase.

3. 8Pack Supernova MK3: £38,888 RTX 4090 configuration
In 2024, Overclockers UK promoted an earlier Supernova MK3 configuration for £38,888. It used seven RTX 4090 GPUs, an AMD Threadripper PRO 7995WX, 512GB of DDR5 memory, and 24TB of storage. The published specification also included two 1,600-watt power supplies and an 850-watt SFX supply, with a custom single-loop water-cooling system. See the Overclockers UK announcement and 8Pack’s configuration details.
The builder promoted testing in Cinebench, V-Ray, Corona 10, and Blender—workloads that illustrate why a seven-GPU machine can make sense to creators and professionals even if most games cannot use its full hardware. The £38,888 figure is the advertised price for that 2024 configuration, not a current quote for the newer RTX 5090 version.
4. Antec’s $30,000 celebrity gaming PC
Antec announced a $30,000 custom water-cooled gaming-PC build in October 2021, describing it as a celebrity-oriented extreme build. The announcement establishes the advertised price and broad category, but not the buyer’s identity, the final delivered specification, or whether the amount included peripherals or a room. Antec’s announcement is therefore evidence of a public promotion, not an independently verified final bill.
Custom cooling and bespoke presentation can raise a build’s cost substantially, but the available public details are not enough to make a component-by-component comparison with the Supernova systems. Celebrity associations and striking photos are not a substitute for a disclosed invoice.
5. 8Pack Supernova MK2: £23,888.88
The earlier Supernova MK2 appeared in Overclockers UK’s Threadripper PC listings at £23,888.88. Its published specification included a Threadripper PRO 5995WX, 256GB of DDR4 memory, two RTX 3090 GPUs with water blocks, 36TB of storage, and custom water cooling. The retailer’s Threadripper listings are historical evidence; the system is no longer a current purchase option.

Its two GPUs, large storage capacity, and workstation CPU reflect a different generation of extreme hardware from the seven-GPU MK3. As with the newer systems, those specifications point to a blend of gaming and professional workloads rather than a straightforward gaming-value proposition.
Price and category comparison
| Setup | Price and date | Category and scope | Availability and evidence |
| TSM Los Angeles esports facility | $50 million; public promotion date not stated in the cited post | Commercial facility; TSM’s promoted figure, with no public line-item budget | Medium confidence: TSM’s own public claim, not an audited cost |
| 8Pack Supernova MK3, RTX 5090 version | £54,888.88 including UK VAT; current retailer listing | Single workstation-class PC | Out of stock when listed; high confidence in the displayed price, not a completed sale |
| 8Pack Supernova MK3, RTX 4090 version | £38,888; advertised in 2024 | Single workstation-class PC | High confidence in the advertised price; historical configuration |
| Antec celebrity gaming PC | $30,000; announced October 2021 | Custom water-cooled PC; full setup scope not established | Medium confidence: Antec’s promotional announcement, not a verified final invoice |
| 8Pack Supernova MK2 | £23,888.88; historical retailer listing | Single workstation-class PC | High confidence in the published listing; no longer a current option |
The currencies are left as originally published rather than converted at an unstated exchange rate. The figures also have different dates and scopes: comparing a facility claim with a PC listing gives a sense of extravagance, not a like-for-like cost ranking.

Compute hardware
Flagship GPUs and workstation CPUs account for much of the expense in the Supernova systems. A 96-core-class workstation processor and several high-end graphics cards are aimed at parallel, professional workloads as well as gaming. Registered or unusually large memory configurations and expansive storage add capability for projects that would exceed a typical gaming PC’s needs.
Cooling, power, and specialist assembly
Custom loops, water blocks, pumps, radiators, and distribution plates add materials and labor. Very high power capacity is required for configurations with many GPUs, while selecting, assembling, tuning, and validating such a system is more involved than building a mainstream desktop. Bespoke engineering can bring excellent thermal management, but it also makes transport, repairs, and replacement parts more complicated; liquid-cooling systems require maintenance and carry leak risk.
Everything beyond the tower
A complete room can add displays, desk and seating, audio, cameras, microphones, lighting, capture and mixing equipment, networking, acoustic treatment, electrical work, and renovation. Those costs are not automatically included in a PC’s advertised price. At facility scale, production spaces, offices, infrastructure, and construction can dominate the budget, which is why a center’s total should never be described as the cost of its computers.

Are the most expensive setups worth it?
For gaming alone: usually not
Most games do not benefit from seven GPUs, and an extreme workstation price does not translate into a matching increase in frame rate. A much less expensive single-GPU PC can be an excellent gaming machine. Buyers focused on play are more likely to notice improvements from a good display, responsive peripherals, reliable networking, and a well-balanced system than from a collection of GPUs their games cannot use.

For gaming plus professional work: sometimes
A creator who regularly renders, simulates, or runs other GPU- and CPU-intensive workloads may be able to use compute resources that a gamer would leave idle. The value depends on actual software support, workload scale, utilization, and the cost of alternatives; a specification list alone cannot establish payback.
For esports organizations and studios: a different calculation
A facility can serve players, coaches, production staff, visitors, and a brand, making its spending an infrastructure and operating decision rather than a PC purchase. The publicly promoted $50 million figure does not disclose enough to assess its allocation or return, but it plainly belongs in a different category from a home build.
Why this is not a definitive world-record list
Private rooms and commissioned systems may cost more than any publicly listed example, but without disclosed, verifiable prices they cannot be ranked responsibly. Public claims also vary: one may be a VAT-inclusive retail listing, another an advertised build price, and another a facility figure with no budget breakdown. These five entries are among the most extravagant examples with public price evidence in the cited sources—not proof that no more expensive private setup exists.
