For Amazon product-catalog data, start with Amazon’s official APIs if your account and use case qualify. For Target pages or other public websites, a third-party scraper API can fetch page content or return extracted data—but the exact retailers, fields, rendering options, and delivery methods vary by provider. These are different tools for different jobs: Amazon’s official seller and catalog APIs are not general-purpose scrapers, and a scraper API is not automatically authorized just because a page is publicly accessible.
What a scraper API does—and what it does not
A scraper API is a service that accepts a page URL or a data request, retrieves website content, and returns some form of result. Depending on the product, that result may be raw HTML, text or Markdown, or structured fields such as product details. Some services also describe JavaScript rendering, geographic routing, batch processing, or scheduled jobs.
“By target” matters: support for a retailer or page type is a provider’s stated coverage, not proof that every URL, location, or field will work. Before committing, establish which pages you need and what the API actually returns for them. The examples below reflect vendor and official documentation reviewed on September 30, 2026; they are not hands-on test results or a performance ranking.
Amazon product data: use the official API when it fits
Selling Partner API is for seller and vendor workflows
Amazon documents the Selling Partner API (SP-API) as a REST-based API for applications used in Amazon seller and vendor workflows. Its documentation covers onboarding and authorization and links to operational APIs, including Catalog Items and Product Pricing. It is not a general-purpose API for scraping arbitrary Amazon pages. If you are building a seller or vendor integration, begin with Amazon’s SP-API documentation and verify the current access and authorization requirements for your account and intended operations.
#1 Best Overall
Creators API is for eligible Associates catalog integrations
Amazon’s Creators API documents catalog operations for product discovery and shopping experiences, including SearchItems, GetItems, GetVariations, and GetBrowseNodes. Its current documentation says access requires enrollment in Amazon Associates for the target marketplace and at least 10 qualifying sales in the preceding 30 days; users must also register and obtain credentials. Check the Creators API documentation for the current eligibility rule and setup process before designing around access.
If you do not fit the documented program or workflow, do not treat scraping as an automatic substitute. Check the applicable terms and law for your own circumstances before collecting retailer-page data.
Which API can scrape Target product pages?
Two documented examples take different approaches: Oxylabs positions a product-data service specifically for Target, while ScraperAPI describes sending a Target URL and receiving the page HTML, with additional rendering and output options. These are examples of stated capabilities, not tested winners.
| Service | Documented approach and options | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Oxylabs Target Product Data API | Its vendor page describes a Target-focused product-data API, bulk processing of up to 5,000 URLs per batch, API or cloud-storage delivery, and recurring scheduling through its Scheduler at no extra charge. It also reports a proxy pool of 177M+; that is vendor-reported scale, not an independent audit. | Confirm the page types and fields you need, batch and delivery setup, actual costs, and whether Target Developer Network access or other terms apply to your scenario. |
| ScraperAPI Target Scraper | Its page describes submitting a Target URL and API key to receive HTML. It also advertises JavaScript rendering, autoparsing, a proxy pool, and an LLM Output option that can return text or Markdown, including details such as prices and reviews. | Determine whether you need HTML or the advertised formatted output, and validate that the returned fields fit your workflow. |
Oxylabs says its service can batch up to 5,000 URLs per batch; that is a vendor-stated limit, not a throughput or success-rate guarantee. The same page says Target API access requires applying through the Target Developer Network and complying with Target terms, and recommends consulting legal counsel for a particular scenario. Its statement that Target listing and detail pages are publicly available data is Oxylabs’ characterization, not a legal determination or a statement by Target. See Oxylabs’ Target Product Data API page for its current description.

Neither description establishes that every Target page or field will be captured successfully. Consult ScraperAPI’s Target Scraper page for its current options. Do not rely on generic anti-scraping claims on a product page as proof of a particular Target result.
General-purpose extraction and managed scraper workflows
If retailer-specific data is not the only need, compare general-purpose services by result format, control over parsing, and job lifecycle—not by the label “AI scraper” alone.
Natural-language extraction through AWS Marketplace
AWS Marketplace lists SilverLining.Cloud GmbH’s Agentic Web Scraper API. The listing describes submitting a URL and plain-English extraction instruction to receive JSON, and advertises cookie-banner handling, JavaScript rendering, and geographically routed residential proxies. The listing showed $0.10 per request when checked September 30, 2026, and warns that additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. This is a listing snapshot, not a durable quote or independently verified extraction result. Check the AWS Marketplace listing for current terms and pricing.
Scrapy.io documents a job-oriented pattern
Scrapy.io’s documentation describes discovering available scrapers, running synchronously or launching asynchronous runs, polling run status, retrieving dataset rows, exporting data, and scheduling recurring jobs. This pattern can be useful when a workload needs more than a one-off request. The documentation establishes the workflow and endpoint pattern; it does not independently verify data quality or guarantee that every retailer has a supported scraper. Review Scrapy.io’s Web Scraping API documentation to see whether its documented workflow matches your operation.

How to choose a scraper API
- Define the target and fields. List retailer, country or region, page type, and required fields. A provider page naming Target does not establish universal coverage of Target pages.
- Choose the output you can use. Decide whether your system needs raw HTML, text or Markdown, or structured JSON/fields. If extraction is managed by the provider, check how much control you have over field definitions and parsing.
- Check rendering and location needs. Establish whether pages rely on JavaScript or location-dependent content, and how the service configures rendering and geographic routing. Do not treat proxy-pool size as a performance guarantee.
- Match the operating model. A single synchronous request differs from asynchronous jobs, status polling, dataset export, bulk processing, and recurring schedules. Pick the pattern your application can monitor and recover.
- Estimate total cost per usable result. Normalize the billing unit: request, successful result, bandwidth or media, and any cloud infrastructure. Include retries and failed or incomplete results in your estimate, and recheck prices before purchase.
- Review access and obligations. For Amazon’s official APIs, confirm program eligibility, account authorization, and marketplace scope. For retailer-page collection, assess the site’s terms and applicable law for your data, jurisdiction, and collection pattern; the provider’s technical capability does not settle those questions.
ScreenshotNeo: an alternative when the deliverable is a screenshot
If your task is to capture a clean visual record of a page rather than extract product fields into a dataset, try ScreenshotNeo first. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not a substitute for an Amazon catalog integration or a Target product-data parser. One GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; its 63 options include full-page capture, CSS-selector element capture, viewport and device settings, PDF controls, custom CSS or JavaScript, and async jobs. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for parameters.
Or skip the browser setup
This one-call cURL example captures Stripe; replace the target URL with a page you are entitled to capture and use your API key:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and the response identifies the page verdict and billing status in X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Sign up free for 1,000 screenshots a month, with no card required.
Cost, reliability, and legal checks before launch
- Do not compare unlike price units. The AWS Marketplace snapshot is per request and may have additional AWS infrastructure charges; batch capacity or a stated scheduler charge from another provider is not directly comparable without estimating your actual workload.
- Plan for incomplete data. No independent comparative benchmark, success rate, or throughput result is established by the documentation cited here. Validate required fields against representative URLs and locations before relying on an API in production.
- Account for operations. For asynchronous jobs, design for status polling and dataset retrieval; for scheduled collection, confirm what is delivered and how failures are surfaced. These are workflow checks, not claims that any provider guarantees reliability.
- Do not infer permission from availability. Public visibility does not itself resolve terms, applicable law, or whether your planned collection is allowed. Oxylabs advises consulting legal counsel for individual circumstances; get advice appropriate to your own use.
Common selection mistakes
- Calling every Amazon API a scraper: SP-API and Creators API have defined seller/vendor or Associates catalog use cases and access requirements.
- Buying on a feature label alone: “JavaScript rendering,” “autoparsing,” and natural-language extraction describe options, not verified accuracy for your pages.
- Ignoring delivery shape: HTML, formatted text, JSON, and exported datasets require different downstream parsing and storage.
- Using pool size as a proxy for results: a provider-reported proxy count is not a measured success rate, speed, or guarantee.
- Budgeting only the headline unit price: include infrastructure, retries, volume pattern, and the share of results that meet your field requirements.
