Start by defining the sites, fields, refresh schedule and delivery format you need; then compare providers against that same workload rather than comparing entry prices alone.
Shortlist Apify for developer-led scraping and orchestration, Bright Data or Oxylabs when proxy and scraping infrastructure are central, Zyte for an API-oriented approach, and Octoparse if you want a visual no-code workflow. These are candidates to validate, not independently tested performance rankings. ScrapeHero itself also offers a self-serve Cloud marketplace alongside managed services, so first decide whether you need an alternative provider or simply a different buying model.
What counts as a ScrapeHero alternative?
ScrapeHero sells more than one kind of service. Its full-service offering covers scraping infrastructure and data delivery, with custom APIs, robotic process automation and custom AI solutions among its stated capabilities. Its use cases include competitor and price tracking, e-commerce catalogs and reviews, finance data, property listings, travel prices, job-board aggregation and market research. Separately, ScrapeHero Cloud is a self-serve marketplace of prebuilt scrapers and APIs for popular sites. ScrapeHero describes those offerings on its site.
That distinction matters: a managed project, a metered API subscription and a prebuilt scraper are not interchangeable products. Before comparing companies, decide which operating model you want:

#1 Best Overall
- Managed extraction: a provider builds or maintains the extraction and delivers data. You trade some direct control for less engineering and operational work.
- Developer-led platform or API: your team configures or writes extraction logic and operates it using a provider’s platform, API or infrastructure.
- No-code scraper: users configure visual workflows rather than building a conventional scraper in code. This may suit straightforward jobs, but target-site fit still needs validation.
- Prebuilt scraper marketplace: you select an existing site-specific scraper or API, which can be quicker than commissioning a custom build when it covers your required fields and schedule.
ScrapeHero says its own Cloud marketplace is the last of these, while its full-service offering is managed. A useful search for alternatives therefore starts with the work you need done, not just the provider name.
Which alternatives should you evaluate?
ScrapeHero’s comparison page puts Apify, Oxylabs, Zyte and Bright Data alongside ScrapeHero. Its article on Apify alternatives also names Octoparse and says Apify offers managed scraping as well as developer-oriented options. The descriptions below summarize how ScrapeHero presents these vendors; the comparison is vendor-authored, not an independent performance test. Use it to build a shortlist, then validate each contender on your sites and requirements. See ScrapeHero’s comparison and its Apify alternatives article.
| Provider | Why put it on a shortlist | Questions to validate |
|---|---|---|
| Apify | Consider it for developer-led custom scraping and orchestration. ScrapeHero’s alternatives article also notes that Apify offers managed scraping. | Do you need a managed engagement or your own development workflow? Can the chosen product extract the fields and deliver them on your schedule? |
| Bright Data | Consider it when proxy and scraping infrastructure, scale or in-house control are priorities. | Which API and fee structure fit the target sites? What proxy, usage or other charges apply to the workload? |
| Oxylabs | Consider it when proxy and scraping infrastructure, scale or in-house control are priorities. | Which product fits your target sites and geography, and how does its actual pricing work for your volume? |
| Zyte | Include it as an API-oriented alternative. | Does the API handle your target-site requirements, and is its pricing model suitable for your request pattern? |
| Octoparse | Consider it if you are looking for a visual, no-code scraper. It appears in ScrapeHero’s alternatives article, not its main four-vendor comparison table. | Can its visual workflow capture the required content and remain usable when the site’s layout or behavior changes? |
These are evaluation prompts, not a claim that one vendor will succeed on every site or outperform another. The reviewed comparison pages do not establish independent success rates or reliability rankings.
How to choose: match the provider to your workload
Choose managed delivery when the output matters more than running the scraper
A managed service is worth evaluating when you need a recurring, structured data feed but do not want your team to own extraction maintenance, proxy operations and failure repair. Ask who builds the extraction, who responds when the target changes, what quality checks are included, and what delivery commitment applies. Confirm whether the price includes setup, refreshes, validation and the destination where data will be delivered.
Rank #3
Choose a developer-led platform when your team needs control
A platform or API can fit a team able to write or configure extraction logic, monitor runs and update it when site behavior changes. Compare documentation, control over requests and output, concurrency, geographic coverage and how usage is metered. A vendor that supplies infrastructure does not automatically take responsibility for your extraction code or data quality; establish that boundary before committing.
Choose no-code or prebuilt tools when the use case is narrow
A visual workflow or ready-made scraper can reduce initial setup for common sites and straightforward fields. Verify that it covers the precise pages and data structure you need, can run at the required cadence, and offers a practical way to recover if the site changes. A prebuilt tool that misses a key field or cannot deliver to your system may cost more in workarounds than a custom approach.
Run a representative proof of concept
Broad statements about JavaScript, proxies or scale cannot guarantee that a provider can access a particular site under your conditions. Ask shortlisted vendors to run a sample using representative pages, geographies, refresh timing and output fields, and price that exact workload. Validate both successful records and failure handling; do not infer performance from a feature list.
Compare the same scope and total cost
ScrapeHero’s vendor-authored comparison contrasts managed and self-serve models, engineering effort, maintenance, quality and delivery, JavaScript and proxy support, and pricing models. Turn those categories into a common specification before comparing proposals. A low entry price may not cover the workload, while a managed-service minimum may include work that a self-serve plan leaves to your team.
Best Value
- Target and access conditions: list domains, page types, geography, JavaScript behavior and any access constraints that matter. Test the actual sites rather than assuming a general capability statement guarantees access.
- Data contract: name required fields, schema, validation rules, freshness, refresh cadence and delivery destination. Define how missing, malformed or duplicate records are handled.
- Volume and operating pattern: specify one-time versus recurring jobs, pages or requests per run, concurrency and expected geographic coverage.
- Ownership and maintenance: identify who builds extraction logic, manages proxies, monitors jobs, repairs breakage and checks data quality.
- Full cost: include setup, recurring usage or credits, proxy or bandwidth charges, maintenance labor, quality checks and any managed-service minimum. Compare the same output and schedule, not just advertised starting prices.
Scraping access is not automatically permitted just because a tool can make a request. The reviewed comparison pages do not determine the legal rights or terms applicable to a particular target. Assess the source’s terms and the rules relevant to your use case before collecting or using data.

The following prices are vendor-posted starting prices on ScrapeHero’s pricing pages, checked September 30, 2026. They are not quotes for a particular workload: ScrapeHero says page count, site complexity, frequency, scope and resources can affect the final cost, and its pricing page cautions that baseline figures are not absolute. Full-service minimums and Cloud credits buy different things, so do not compare them as equivalent plans. Check the current terms before purchase.
| ScrapeHero offering | Posted starting price | Basis and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| On-demand managed work | $550 | Per website per refresh; page count and website complexity affect the final price. |
| Business managed service | $199 | Per month per website; frequency and site complexity affect cost. |
| Enterprise Basic | $1,500 | Per month; final cost depends on scope and resources. |
| Enterprise Premium | $8,000 | Per month; final cost depends on scope and resources. |
| ScrapeHero Cloud Lite | $25 | Per month; self-serve plan. |
| ScrapeHero Cloud Starter | $50 | Per month; self-serve plan. |
| ScrapeHero Cloud Standard | $100 | Per month; self-serve plan. |
| ScrapeHero Cloud Pro | $250 | Per month; self-serve plan. |
| ScrapeHero Cloud Mega | $500 | Per month; self-serve plan. |
| ScrapeHero Cloud Ultra | $750 | Per month; self-serve plan. |
ScrapeHero Cloud plan limits differ in credits, concurrent jobs, retention, API calls, proxy level and integrations; the vendor advertises a 30-day free trial. Details and scope are on ScrapeHero’s pricing page and Cloud marketplace pricing. The figures above describe ScrapeHero’s posted prices, not prices for Apify, Bright Data, Oxylabs, Zyte or Octoparse; request current, workload-specific quotes from those providers.
When ScreenshotNeo is the better fit
If your actual need is a screenshot of a webpage rather than structured extraction across records, try ScreenshotNeo first. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not a general web-scraping service: one GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. For screenshot jobs, it accepts consent banners as a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and whether the request was billed. Its MCP server exposes take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.
One-call example with cURL, using the documented ScreenshotNeo API:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
The response is written to shot.webp. Use an API key in place of YOUR_API_KEY; this endpoint captures a screenshot, not a structured data extraction. ScreenshotNeo’s free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up free for 1,000 screenshots a month with no card.
