Orshot describes Embed as a hosted service exposed through an iframe or React/Vue integration. Its page documents JWT authentication, domain locking, webhooks, and user-specific separation of templates and data. Where Orshot Embed may be the better fit

With Orshot Embed, the hosted service packages more of the editor workflow. Your team still needs to implement the embed, handle session/authentication setup, configure the allowed domain, and decide how webhooks and user identity map to your application. Your customization boundary is the set of controls the service documents and makes available to your account.
A representative proof of concept should include the actual save/export path, a user’s assets, authentication, domain configuration, webhook failure handling if applicable, and the browsers and devices your customers use. Measure latency in your own application; vendor demo figures should not be treated as production guarantees.

IMG.LY’s support documentation says a trial key is valid for 30 days from creation. It also says paid license keys remain valid while the subscription is active and check configured web hostnames or mobile bundle IDs; exports without a valid key carry a watermark. Confirm the terms for the product and platforms you plan to ship.
For a meaningful budget comparison, estimate expected users, render/export volume, environments, platform count, support needs, and any branding or tenancy requirements. Compare the resulting written quote or applicable plan—not just the lowest displayed starting figure.

Orshot reports a comparison from three cold Chrome loads on September 22, 2026, against IMG.LY’s public CE.SDK 1.82.1 demo. Orshot reports 3.9 seconds versus 5.1 seconds to load, 2.6 MB versus 9.8 MB downloaded, and 0 MB versus 6.2 MB of WASM for Orshot and the CE.SDK demo respectively. These are Orshot’s vendor-reported demo measurements, not an independent benchmark or a prediction of production performance. The reviewed source set does not establish a neutral, independent performance comparison.
For your decision, measure the same representative editing workflow on your own target devices, network conditions, and application architecture. A hosted embed and an SDK integrated into your own app have different delivery paths, so a demo comparison alone cannot establish how either will perform for your users.
