To take a screenshot on TradingView, open the chart, click the camera icon in the chart’s upper-right area, and choose Save image. The same menu can copy the image, copy a shareable link, or send it to X. On Windows or Linux, press Alt+S; on macOS, press Option+S.
Take a TradingView screenshot from the chart
TradingView’s built-in snapshot tool captures the chart itself rather than your browser window. Set up the chart first, then use the camera menu.
- Open TradingView in a desktop browser and open the chart you want to share.
- Set the symbol, timeframe, indicators, drawings, and visible date range. Anything visible in the chart is part of the snapshot.
- Click the camera icon at the top of the chart, in the upper-right area.
- Choose the output you need: Save image, Copy image, Copy link, or the X sharing option.
A shared snapshot link does not expire, according to TradingView’s help guidance. The link is therefore useful when recipients need to open the same hosted chart image later instead of receiving an attachment.
Choose the right snapshot output
| Menu option | What you get | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Save image | A downloaded chart image | Reports, presentations, archives, and file uploads |
| Copy image | The chart image on your clipboard | Pasting directly into email, chat, notes, or a document |
| Copy link | A hosted URL for the chart snapshot | Sharing without downloading or attaching a file |
| X | A direct social-sharing flow | Posting the snapshot to X |
The image and link are different outputs. Copying the image gives another application bitmap data to paste; copying the link gives a URL that points to TradingView’s hosted snapshot.

Prepare the chart before you capture it
Select the exact market view
Choose the ticker, exchange listing, timeframe, and date range before opening the camera menu. If the chart is showing an intraday interval, the screenshot preserves that interval; changing it afterward does not update an already saved image or copied link.
Set indicators and drawings
Add or remove indicators, trend lines, annotations, and other drawings first. Check that labels are not hidden behind the camera menu and that the visible range includes the candles or bars you want readers to see.
Wait for the chart to finish rendering
Allow data, indicator panes, and drawing tools to finish loading. A capture taken while a study is still rendering can omit part of that study. If the chart looks incomplete, close the menu, wait for the chart to settle, and take a new snapshot.

| Operating system | Shortcut | Documented action |
|---|---|---|
| Windows or Linux | Alt+S | Take a snapshot and save its URL to the clipboard |
| macOS | Option+S | Take a snapshot and save its URL to the clipboard |
The shortcut is described as “Take snapshot, saving URL to clipboard.” It is therefore primarily a quick link-creation command; use the camera menu when you specifically need the downloaded image or a clipboard bitmap.
If the shortcut does nothing
- Click inside the chart first so TradingView has focus, then press the shortcut again.
- Check whether a browser extension, operating-system utility, or keyboard manager already uses Alt+S or Option+S.
- Use the camera icon instead. It exposes every output choice and avoids shortcut conflicts.
Include orders, executions, and positions
Trade markers are controlled by a separate setting. Before capturing, enable Orders, executions and positions in screenshots if you need those overlays visible.
- Open the chart’s settings and locate the option named Orders, executions and positions in screenshots.
- Enable it when order, execution, or position markers should appear in the snapshot.
- Return to the chart and use the camera icon or shortcut.
TradingView states that this setting applies to chart snapshots. It does not change ordinary operating-system screenshots or browser printing. If you use a system screenshot tool and the trade markers are missing, that is expected; use TradingView’s snapshot control with the setting enabled.
Print a TradingView chart
For a paper copy or a PDF generated by the browser, TradingView recommends printing the snapshot image rather than printing the live chart interface.

- Take a snapshot with the camera icon.
- Choose Open image in new tab if that option is shown by the snapshot flow.
- In the new tab, open the browser’s print command: Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux or Command+P on macOS.
- Select a printer or the browser’s PDF destination, then confirm the print job.
Printing the opened image keeps browser controls and unrelated page elements out of the result. If you need a digital image instead of paper, use Save image from the camera menu.
Common problems and fixes
The camera icon is not visible
Make sure you are looking at a TradingView chart, not a watchlist, screener, or another page. Expand the chart or widen the browser window if the toolbar is compressed. Reloading the chart can restore a toolbar that failed to render.
The downloaded image has the wrong timeframe or symbol
The snapshot records the chart state at capture time. Change the symbol or interval, wait for the candles and indicators to update, and capture again. An earlier file will not update automatically.
Copy image does not paste
Use Copy image, not Copy link. The former places image data on the clipboard; the latter places text. If the destination application accepts only files, choose Save image and attach the downloaded file.

A recipient cannot see my trade markers
Enable Orders, executions and positions in screenshots before taking the snapshot. That preference is specifically for TradingView chart snapshots and does not affect screenshots made with the operating system.
The link opens, but it is not the chart I intended
Use Copy link only after confirming the active chart’s symbol, interval, drawings, and visible range. Copying a link creates a snapshot of that moment; later chart edits do not change the already-created image.
The printed page includes browser or chart controls
Open the snapshot image in a new tab first, then print from that tab. Printing the live chart page can include interface elements that are not part of the snapshot.

The built-in camera workflow is best for an analyst working interactively. For recurring reports, documentation, monitoring, or many URLs, a screenshot API can run the capture outside your browser. Verify that the chart URL is reachable under the access conditions you need; a browser session that requires a login may require the API’s header or cookie options.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Its cleanup steps accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be disabled. Bot checks, CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.

Options useful for chart captures
- Viewport and devices: choose any viewport or one of 12 device presets; use retina scale when labels need higher pixel density.
- Page extent: capture the full page, or target one chart element with a CSS selector.
- Appearance: request dark mode, transparent backgrounds, image resizing, or PDF output with paper size, margins, landscape orientation, and page ranges.
- Timing: wait for a selector, a fixed delay, or network idle so chart content has time to render.
- Interaction and cleanup: click an element before capture, hide selectors, inject custom CSS or JavaScript, and block ads, trackers, requests, or resource types.
- Session context: provide custom headers, cookies, a user agent, Authorization, timezone, or geolocation when the target requires that context.
- Delivery: set a cache TTL, create signed links for public
<img>tags, run asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, capture up to 100 URLs per bulk call, and inspect usage through the usage API.
For an automated TradingView workflow, use a stable URL and a wait condition that matches the chart element or its loading state. If the page is dynamic, a fixed delay or network-idle wait can be more reliable than capturing immediately. Keep the returned verdict and billing headers with your job logs so failed loads can be distinguished from billable clean captures.
Pricing and agent access
Every ScreenshotNeo feature is available on every plan. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card. Paid plans are Starter ($5 for 3,000), Growth ($15 for 15,000), Pro ($39 for 60,000), Scale ($99 for 250,000), and Business ($249 for 1,000,000); yearly billing provides two months free. An MCP server exposes take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf to Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients, allowing an AI agent to request captures without custom browser automation.
