For most agents and brokerages, Houzez, MyHome, Residence, HomePress and Real Estate 7 are worth shortlisting for packaged property-listing workflows and Elementor-oriented tools. If multilingual publishing is a priority, compare WPResidence and WP Pro Real Estate 7 as well: WPML lists both as compatible. The right choice depends less on a universal “best” label than on your MLS or IDX coverage, listing-search needs, lead workflow, language requirements and licensing.

Which real estate WordPress theme should you shortlist?

Use the comparison below as a first filter, not a substitute for checking a live demo and the exact MLS/IDX plugin you plan to use. Prices and sales counts are ThemeForest marketplace snapshots from 2026, so they can change. Features in marketplace descriptions are vendor positioning, not independent usability or performance test results.

Theme ThemeForest price snapshot ThemeForest sales snapshot Published positioning or documented detail
Houzez $89 57.3K Real-estate website builder; 170+ Elementor widgets and CRM positioning
MyHome $79 7.3K Advanced search, IDX/MLS and Elementor listings
Residence $79 32.7K Advanced real-estate search, Elementor and Bakery widgets
HomePress $59 not stated (ThemeForest, 2026 snapshot) Real-estate listings and marketplaces
Real Estate 7 $89 10K Lead-generation, IDX and Elementor positioning
WPResidence not stated (ThemeForest price not supplied) not stated (ThemeForest sales not supplied) WPML-certified compatibility; WPML describes property, agent, featured-property and map-listing widgets
WP Pro Real Estate 7 not stated (ThemeForest price not supplied) not stated (ThemeForest sales not supplied) WPML-certified compatibility; WPML describes Elementor pre-built sites and custom modules

ThemeForest pricing and sales figures above are 2026 snapshots, not guaranteed current prices or measures of theme quality. For MyHome, IDX Broker separately says its dedicated MyHome IDX edition was rebuilt in 2026 and made free to download, normally $79; that is a distinct edition claim, not a reason to assume every MyHome purchase or MLS connection is free.

What to check before choosing a theme

MLS and IDX coverage

Start with the MLS or association whose listings you need to display. Confirm that your intended IDX provider supports it and that the provider’s plugin works with the theme’s templates and search. A theme’s “IDX/MLS” label alone does not establish coverage for your market, data permissions, or compliance with local display rules. IDX Broker maintains a compatible-theme ecosystem, which is a useful place to check its integrations; still verify your specific setup with the provider.

Search, maps and listing details

Test the actual property search, filters, map results and property-detail pages on desktop and mobile. Check whether visitors can save searches or listings if those functions matter to your business, and whether the theme or IDX plugin supplies them. The product descriptions document advanced search and listing widgets for some candidates, but they do not establish how usable or fast a particular configuration will be.

Lead capture and CRM

Decide where an inquiry should go: an email inbox, a CRM, a showing-request workflow, or a lead-management service. Houzez is marketed with CRM positioning and Real Estate 7 with lead-generation positioning. Before buying, identify which functions are built into the theme, which require an add-on or third-party service, and whether contacts and listing inquiries can be exported if you later switch tools.

Page-builder dependence

Elementor is central to the documented workflows for several of these themes. Builder-based editing can make page layouts accessible to non-developers, but it also makes your site more dependent on that builder and its extensions. Check which layouts and listing components continue to work if you deactivate a builder or change themes. Do not infer site speed from a theme’s widget count: performance depends on the full site, hosting, plugins, images and configuration.

Languages and licensing

If you publish in more than one language, verify compatibility for the theme version and translation workflow you intend to use. WPML’s certified theme directory lists WPResidence and WP Pro Real Estate 7 as compatible; it also lists RealHomes. Compatibility listings are a starting point, not a guarantee that every add-on or customized site will translate without extra work. For every theme, review the current license, included support period, update policy and any separate costs for IDX, CRM, plugins or page builders before committing.

How the shortlisted themes differ

Houzez

Consider Houzez if you want a broad set of real-estate-specific modules in an Elementor-centered site. The marketplace listing’s widget count and CRM positioning make it a candidate for agencies that want many functions packaged around property workflows. Confirm which CRM capabilities are actually included in the license and whether they fit your existing lead process.

MyHome

MyHome is a comparison point for teams that want advanced search and listings built around Elementor. IDX Broker describes it as actively developed since 2017 and reports more than 7,000 licenses sold on its page crawled in 2026. Its dedicated MyHome IDX edition was rebuilt in 2026 and made free to download, according to IDX Broker; confirm what the edition includes and whether it supports your MLS before planning around it.

Residence

Residence suits buyers comparing search controls with flexibility across page builders: the marketplace description identifies Elementor and Bakery widgets. If you are choosing it for an existing site, check whether your preferred builder covers the specific property templates and listing elements you need rather than assuming both builder options behave identically.

HomePress

HomePress is positioned for real-estate listings and marketplaces. IDX Broker describes 10 premade homepages that can be imported quickly, which may help when you want a ready-made starting layout. Verify that the chosen homepage, listing search and IDX integration work together in the configuration you intend to deploy.

Real Estate 7

Real Estate 7 is worth comparing when lead capture and an Elementor workflow are central to the project. Its listing is positioned around lead generation and IDX, but those labels do not settle which lead tools are native, bundled or supplied by another service. Map the full inquiry path before selecting it.

WPResidence and WP Pro Real Estate 7

These are useful alternatives when multilingual publishing is a core requirement. WPML lists both as compatible real-estate themes. It describes WPResidence widgets for properties, agents, featured properties and map listings, and says WP Pro Real Estate 7 works with Elementor for pre-built sites and custom modules. A WPResidence comparison published in 2026 recommends WPResidence when native MLS import is required and Findero when building in Elementor; treat that as the publisher’s recommendation for those use cases, and verify the current import and builder requirements directly.

A practical selection process

  1. Write down your must-haves: target MLS or IDX provider, map and filter behavior, lead destination, languages, page builder and budget.
  2. Verify the MLS connection: ask the IDX provider whether the exact theme and plugin combination supports your association and required display rules.
  3. Test a demo with real tasks: search by the filters your customers use, open a listing, view map results on a phone and submit a lead form.
  4. Check feature ownership: separate theme functions from builder, IDX, CRM and other paid-service dependencies.
  5. Review switching and support terms: confirm current license conditions, updates, support duration, renewal or add-on costs, and what remains editable if you change themes.

Choose the theme that passes those checks with the least unnecessary complexity. A popular marketplace listing or a long feature list cannot replace confirming that the full plugin stack works for your market and operating process.
