You can collect Tokopedia data through a third-party marketplace-data API or a crawling API, but neither should be mistaken for Tokopedia’s official public product-search API. For structured product data, one documented third-party workflow is to search by keyword, take a product URL from the results, and request that product’s details. A crawling service instead accepts a Tokopedia page URL and returns page content for you to process. Tokopedia’s seller integration is a separate route for authorized seller operations.

This guide explains the differences, a safe implementation workflow, what to verify before choosing a provider, and where the available documentation does not establish current access details.

First decide which kind of Tokopedia API you need

The phrase “Tokopedia API” can refer to different services. Choosing the wrong one can leave you with page HTML when you expected product fields, or seller-management operations when you wanted marketplace listings.

Route What it is for What to expect
Third-party structured-data API Collecting marketplace information such as product search results or product details. A vendor returns fields in its own schema. ReefAPI describes search, product detail, shop profile, shop product listings, and reviews endpoints. Its schema is the vendor’s, not Tokopedia’s official API contract. ReefAPI
Third-party crawling API Fetching a Tokopedia page by URL when your workflow needs page content. The provider returns page content; you may need to extract and normalize the fields yourself. Crawlbase documents this model for Tokopedia. Crawlbase
Tokopedia seller integration Operations associated with an authorized seller account, rather than general public product discovery. A community Python SDK describes seller-oriented capabilities such as products, orders, logistics, shop information, and statistics. The provider links above identify the services discussed; check each vendor’s current documentation for exact endpoint paths, authentication, parameters, limits, and pricing. Current official Tokopedia API access requirements, endpoint paths, and rate limits are not established here.

Use a structured-data workflow for product research

If the task is to find products and then inspect individual listings, the clearest documented pattern is a two-stage sequence: search first, then request detail using a product URL returned from search. ReefAPI describes this flow. Its response fields and availability are vendor-specific and can differ between search and detail results.

1. Define the data you actually need

Write down the minimum fields and use case before making requests. ReefAPI says its search responses may include a title, price, rating, units sold, shop and city, and product URL. Do not assume every field appears for every listing, that representations match between endpoints, or that the same fields are part of an official Tokopedia API.

  • For discovery, decide which fields are needed to filter results and retain a reference URL.
  • For an individual listing, request detail data only for products that pass your initial filters.
  • If the task concerns seller-owned inventory or orders, investigate the seller integration route rather than treating a scraping service as a substitute.

2. Search, then follow a returned product URL

Make a keyword search through the selected provider according to its current documentation. Inspect the result structure and select a returned product URL. Pass that URL to the provider’s product-detail operation. This avoids assuming that an identifier or URL format from one vendor is accepted by another.

The available description of ReefAPI does not provide exact request URLs, authentication parameters, or runnable request code. Those details must come from its current documentation or account dashboard; inventing endpoint paths or credentials would make a purported example unreliable.

3. Normalize without discarding source information

Preserve the provider’s raw response alongside your normalized record. A normalized record can include your own stable internal ID, the original product URL, source provider, collection time, and parsed fields. Keep the source representation for values whose meaning or format may vary, such as price, rating, or units sold. Do not silently treat missing data as zero or convert display text into a numeric value without checking its format.

  • Store the original URL and timestamp so a later refresh can target the same listing.
  • Keep currency and locale context with prices when the provider exposes them.
  • Represent missing or unparseable values as missing, not as fabricated defaults.
  • Record provider errors separately from valid responses that simply contain no matching results.

Use a crawling API when you need page content

A crawling API takes a Tokopedia page URL and returns page content. This can suit a workflow built around fetching specific page types and extracting information from the response, but it is not the same as receiving a stable structured marketplace-data schema. Crawlbase’s Tokopedia cookbook describes a cURL example and Python and Node usage; consult that provider’s current instructions for the precise URL, token, and parameters.

Before choosing this route, establish whether the response gives you rendered content or another representation, which page types are supported, how pagination is handled, and how the provider reports blocked, empty, or failed requests. Extraction logic should be tested against the response format you actually receive. Page markup and behavior can change, so build validation and failure handling rather than assuming every response contains the same fields.

Compare providers against your job

Question Why it matters
Structured fields or page content? Structured output reduces your extraction work; page content gives you a different input that may require parsing.
Which page types and data areas? Check whether you need search, product detail, shop/catalog listings, or reviews. ReefAPI describes those five endpoint categories; other vendors may differ.
What authentication and account are required? Use the vendor’s current documentation to confirm credentials, account eligibility, and credential handling.
What are coverage and freshness? Verify Indonesian-market coverage, language, pagination, update behavior, and how stale results are identified.
How are errors and metering reported? Understand retries, failure classifications, quotas, per-request or credit costs, and current prices before scaling.
What data use is permitted? Review both the provider’s terms and Tokopedia’s applicable terms, especially for storage, redistribution, and commercial use.

These providers represent different service shapes, not a controlled head-to-head comparison. A vendor’s stated availability, pricing, or performance can change. Crawlbase reports provider-measured Tokopedia request figures of 99.9% success during August 2026 and a 7.2-second median response, last retested September 6, 2026; these are Crawlbase measurements, not independent benchmarks or guarantees. Keep seller API access separate

A community Python SDK identifies itself as an integration for the Tokopedia Seller API and lists areas including webhooks, products, orders, logistics, shop information, categories, interactions, and statistics. That is evidence of a seller-oriented use case, not authoritative confirmation of the current official API’s eligibility rules, OAuth flow, scopes, endpoints, or limits. Check Tokopedia’s developer documentation and the permissions attached to the relevant seller account before writing integration code.

Do not reuse a third-party scraping provider’s endpoint or credential format in the seller API, or assume that a seller API credential permits general marketplace searches. They are distinct integration paths with different purposes and access conditions.

Respect Tokopedia’s terms and technical restrictions

Tokopedia’s Shop and Go Terms of Use and Sale apply in Indonesia and were updated as of January 2026. They state that access and use of Marketplace Content are subject to the permissions in those terms, including a personal, non-commercial license. They also say, “You agree not to circumvent any technical measures,” and, “Use by you of the Marketplace Content or other materials available as part of the Services for any purpose not expressly permitted by these Terms of Use is strictly prohibited.” Tokopedia Shop and Go Terms of Use and Sale

Those terms do not, by themselves, resolve every API or scraping scenario. Obtain appropriate authorization, do not evade technical restrictions, and check current terms and applicable law before collecting, retaining, republishing, or using listing data commercially. This is a practical caution, not a determination that every particular collection method is permitted or prohibited.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not a Tokopedia product-data API. It can capture a page as an image or PDF, but a screenshot is not structured listing data and does not replace a marketplace-data or crawling service. If a visual record of an accessible page is what you need, one GET request can capture it:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.tokopedia.com/ -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for setup and options. Before capture it accepts the cookie or consent banner like a visitor and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account.

Handle common implementation failures

The result is HTML or page content, not product fields

You likely selected a crawling endpoint rather than a structured-data endpoint. Decide whether your downstream job can parse page content; if it expects fields such as title and price, choose a provider that documents structured output and validate its schema.

A product-detail request returns no result

Confirm that you passed the product URL returned by that same provider’s search result and that the provider currently supports the page. Do not presume that a URL from one service is valid input for another.

Search and detail values do not match

Different response types can represent fields differently. Preserve the raw responses, compare the field definitions in the provider documentation, and normalize only after confirming units, currency, and meaning.

A request is blocked, empty, or fails

Use the provider’s documented status and error handling to distinguish an access restriction, an empty result, and a transport or service failure. Do not respond by circumventing a technical measure. Check current provider coverage and Tokopedia permissions, then reduce scope or stop collection if access is not authorized.

Your seller integration cannot access marketplace search

Seller-oriented permissions and public marketplace data collection are separate use cases. Review current official permissions and endpoints rather than assuming the seller SDK exposes general product search.

Build for changing data and bounded costs

Listings and provider responses can change. Fetch only what the use case needs, avoid unnecessary repeated requests, and retain collection timestamps so consumers can judge freshness. Add bounded retries for transient provider errors, but avoid retry loops that turn access failures into excess traffic. Monitor response validity and usage against the provider’s own current metering rules.

Before a production run, test a small representative sample of the exact page or query types you need. Measure your own latency and error rates; do not treat a vendor’s reported figures as a guarantee for your account, region, or request mix. Confirm pagination and refresh behavior, and recalculate cost from the provider’s current rate card. Magpie lists Tokopedia search/category listing, merchant listing, and product-detail scraping endpoints in its rate card, but its listed credit costs and endpoint availability should be checked with the provider before relying on them. Frequently asked questions

Is there an official Tokopedia public product-search API?

The current official portal’s public product-search availability and access rules are not established here. Verify them directly with Tokopedia rather than treating a third-party endpoint as official.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can I use scraped listing data commercially?

The terms and permissions that apply depend on the collection method and intended use. Review the current Tokopedia terms, provider terms, and applicable law, and obtain authorization where required.

Should I store the whole response or only selected fields?

For a maintainable pipeline, retain enough source response and provenance to audit how normalized fields were derived, subject to your retention obligations and permitted use. Keep only what you need and define a deletion policy.
