For authorized shop data, use Shopee Open Platform—not an undocumented browser or mobile-app scraper. Create an app, authorize the shop, sign requests with the required partner credentials, and call the documented product endpoint. The v2.product.get_item_extra_info endpoint accepts a list of item IDs, with a documented maximum of 50 per request, and its reference lists fields including sales, views, likes, ratings, and comment counts. Access depends on eligibility, shop authorization, and Shopee’s approval process; the API is not a general-purpose way to collect arbitrary marketplace listings.
What you can—and cannot—get with this endpoint
Shopee’s Open Platform API is the supported starting point when you have an eligible developer account and authorization for the relevant shop. The production route documented for additional item information is v2.product.get_item_extra_info. Its description says it gets extra information for items by item ID list.
The API reference snapshot dated September 6, 2026, lists these response fields in its example:

These are fields shown for this endpoint, not a promise that every field is populated for every item, market, or API response. Check the current reference and inspect actual responses for the market and app you are authorized to use. The documented maximum is 50 item IDs in one request; split larger collections into batches no larger than that.

This endpoint is for enrichment by item ID. The available documentation does not establish it as a general marketplace search endpoint, nor does it establish that it returns every detail a product catalog might need, such as full descriptions, variations, inventory, or shipping information. Do not assume a field is available merely because it appears in a Shopee page.
Get access before building the integration
- Check eligibility. Confirm that your organization and intended Shopee market can use the Open Platform. The available materials do not establish universal eligibility across countries or account types.
- Create a developer account and app. Use the Shopee Open Platform console to register and configure an app for the intended integration.
- Authorize the shop. Obtain shop authorization and the credentials required for the app. A developer account alone is not shop authorization.
- Test in the sandbox. Validate request construction, signing, response parsing, and error handling against the sandbox before relying on live data.
- Submit for live review. The documented workflow calls for app review before live use. Obtain live credentials after approval; sandbox credentials should not be treated as production credentials.
The Open API Developer Guide cited for this workflow was published on September 11, 2020, so console labels and approval details may have changed. Follow the current instructions in the platform for your account and market. The API reference snapshot identifies its version as cn-20260919-1; that version label is not evidence that every market uses the same availability or field behavior.
Build and sign the request
The request needs the partner ID, timestamp, access token, shop ID, and signature. Shopee’s signing process uses HMAC-SHA256 with documented signing inputs. The signature is not an arbitrary API key: it must be computed from the exact canonical inputs and encoding specified for the endpoint and authorization context. A mismatch in path, timestamp, credentials, or input serialization can cause authentication failure.

The endpoint reference snapshot supplied for this article does not specify the canonical signing string, exact query/body encoding for item_id_list, or a complete example request. Those details matter: inventing them can produce a script that looks plausible but cannot authenticate. Use the current Shopee guide for those exact values rather than copying a generic HMAC example from another Shopee endpoint. In particular, do not assume that a route’s method or array serialization is interchangeable with another API route.
Once you have the current endpoint-specific signing instructions, the request flow is:
- Choose the authorized shop and the item IDs you are allowed to process.
- Generate a current timestamp in the format the guide requires.
- Assemble the documented signing inputs for this route and authorization context exactly as specified.
- Calculate the HMAC-SHA256 signature using the app’s partner credential, following the guide’s required encoding.
- Send the required partner ID, timestamp, access token, shop ID, signature, and item ID list to the production route shown above, using the method and parameter encoding in the current endpoint reference.
- Parse the response and associate each result with its item ID, market/site, and collection time.
Do not hard-code credentials in source files or commit them to version control. Load them from a secrets manager or protected environment configuration, restrict access to the smallest necessary set of services, and rotate them according to your organization’s policy. Keep sandbox and production credentials separate.

Python request structure
This Python example shows the parts of a client that can be established from the endpoint reference, but deliberately leaves signing and item-list serialization as explicit integration points. It is not a drop-in authenticated request until those two pieces match Shopee’s current instructions for your app and market.

print(data)The guard enforces the documented 50-ID limit. The timeout is a client-side choice, not a Shopee service-level guarantee. The placeholders raise errors rather than silently producing a fabricated signature or malformed list. Replace them only with implementations based on the current official instructions; keep credentials out of logs and never print a signed URL containing access credentials.
Process batches and preserve context
For more than 50 IDs, divide the work into batches and make a separate authorized request for each batch. Keep a record of which IDs were sent together, the time of the request, the shop and market context, and the response outcome. This makes it possible to distinguish an absent field from an item that was never requested or a failed batch.

Use a bounded worker pool rather than launching an unrestrained request for every batch at once. The available endpoint information does not state a request quota or rate limit, so do not infer a safe throughput from the 50-ID batch size. Consult the current app-specific limits, throttle accordingly, and back off on transient failures only in ways consistent with Shopee’s current guidance. Avoid retry loops that amplify authentication, validation, or permission errors.
For durable data pipelines, store the raw response alongside normalized fields where your retention rules permit. Preserve numeric values as returned until their meaning and units are confirmed. For example, the field name sale alone does not establish whether its value is a lifetime count, a period-specific count, or another measure; do not label or compare it beyond what the current endpoint documentation defines.

The practical choice depends on whether you own or are authorized to access the shop, which market and fields you need, and whether you can maintain an API integration. For a production decision, verify permissions, endpoint coverage, quotas, retention terms, and any provider’s data rights—not just whether a test request returns JSON.

Stay within Shopee’s terms
Shopee’s Terms of Service for the Philippines, accessed September 29, 2026, prohibit certain uses of non-official software, including: “access the Shopee platform, open a user account, or otherwise access your user account using any non-official Shopee hardware or software, including but not limited to an emulator, simulator, bot or other similar hardware or software;”. The terms also prohibit attempts to defeat security measures and harvesting information about other account holders. This is a material boundary for scraping: do not use bots to evade controls, harvest other users’ information, or treat publicly visible pages as permission to automate collection. Obtain written permission where needed and use the official platform route when available.
The cited terms are specifically the Philippines version; do not assume the same wording or legal consequences apply identically in every jurisdiction. Review the terms and policies that govern your account and market, and seek qualified legal advice for a commercial data-collection program.
Troubleshooting common failures
- Signature or authentication rejected: Recheck the partner ID, partner key, shop authorization, access token, timestamp, endpoint path, and canonical signing inputs. Confirm that the exact serialization and encoding follow the current instructions. Do not debug by exposing credentials in logs.
- Request works in sandbox but not live: Verify that the app completed review, that live credentials are being used, and that the shop authorized the live app. Sandbox success does not itself grant production access.
- Invalid parameter or empty item results: Check the current documented representation of
item_id_list, confirm that IDs belong to the authorized scope, and keep each batch at or below 50. Inspect the response for endpoint-specific validation details rather than assuming the API silently accepts malformed IDs. - Some expected fields are missing: The reference lists fields in an example, not universal completeness guarantees. Confirm field definitions and availability for your endpoint and market; retain the raw response so the difference is visible.
- Requests begin failing after working: Check token validity, app status, current market permissions, timestamp generation, and any app-specific quotas or policy changes. Capture Shopee’s request or error identifiers when returned, and use them in support investigations.
- Large jobs stall or trigger failures: Reduce concurrency, batch no more than 50 IDs, add bounded retry handling for transient failures, and record failed batches for controlled replay. No quota or latency guarantee is established by the available endpoint reference.
